My husband and I stayed at this hotel as a part of our honeymoon. The hotel was lovely with everything that we needed for our two night stay but the stand out was the staff. At check in Jerome made us feel so welcome and special on our honeymoon. When I fell extremely ill in the middle of the night, helping us make international calls (and being so patient with us when my husband accidentally called 911 - we are from Australia!) and helping us find a local doctor. Stayed here for a couple night during a recent visit to Los Angeles. Check-in was very smooth. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The car valet service was quick and efficient. Our room didn't have a view, but was clean and adequate. I used the pool once, but the Jacuzzi was not inoperable. Overall stay was very nice. Would recommend.

Arrived as a group of 6 early Friday morning after getting off a cruise. Didn't have any rooms available at that time so had to wait a while. Concierge were very helpful. We had a suite on the second floor with a view of the Marina. Walking distance to Venice Beach, Cheesecake factory & much more. Hired bikes & did the Venice walk thing. Interesting characters around the place!

My daughter and I stayed in a suite for 2 nights. The suite was very comfortable and quiet. The hotel was great- walking distance to many hotels and great food and drink in the hotel itself. The pool is pretty small but it serves it's purpose. The staff were extremely accommodating. I had forgot my cell phone charger and they lent me a devise to charge my phone. If I'm ever in the area again I would stay at this hotel again without even looking at other hotels in the area based on my experience.

I'm a Platinum member and 1. they don't bother telling me which floor the Concierge Room is upon checking in and 2. they don't deliver a newspaper to my room the morning of the day I'm checking out. I can only think that these are "cost saving" measures. Well, Marriott, I got good news for you: you will be saving a lot more money now since Hilton just agreed to honor my status and I won't be pestering you for free sodas at the Concierge room or those expensive newspapers...

My family has been staying at this hotel for the past 11 years, I have family in the area. Everyone at the Marriott Marina Del Ray feels like extended family. They greet my husband and I by name, know my granddaughters (this hotel is also Shannon and Dylan's favorite hotel in the world!), go out of their way to assist with any need we have. Since this Marriott is so welcoming, especially concierge (Elena), we have stayed here 3 to 4 times a year for the past 9 years of our relationship. We ... Read more

Because we were staying only one night and had airline points to use, we decided to stay at the Marriott. We'd stayed here several years ago -but for longer stays in the LA area we preferred Air BnB. The Marriott's design and ambiance are really lovely. The large lobby and tall ceilings are inviting. Our sleeping room was very comfortable. We had a good breakfast despite its being served in the lobby near the bar. (I think their restaurant was being used for a private function.) From the vale... Read more

I am a platinum and have stayed at this property for work several times. This time it was for pleasure with my family. As always, the staff is very accommodating, the rooms are nice and the food in the lounge was plentiful. They even sent a nice bottle of wine up to our room as an amenity which is something I rarely see at Marriott's these days for Platinum members. Nice touch. I would have given it 5 stars if they had upgraded the room or even mentioned that they could not due to capacity.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We arrived before normal check in but a room was available and we were quickly and pleasantly checked in by the front desk staff. The bed was as usual wonderful. The room had a great view of the marina and the marina beach. The location was an easy walk to Venice beach and many good restaurants. The hotel has a nice entrance. Front desk service was bad. The rooms are nice, not wow but ok. The noise level was off the charts. You can, like many hotels , hear everything what is going on on the hallway with the famous door slamming and talking housekeeping and guests. For $330 per night i expect much better. The view of the Santa Monica "view" rooms are ridiculous. You are overlooking the parking lot and get the loud noise from the outside hotel lounge area with it. So take a Marina view.... Read more

This hotel is full of some of the nicest staff I have ever encountered at a hotel, however their personalities can't overcome the filth of the hotel. I brought my own slippers, as I usually do when I travel, but made the mistake of rushing to the washroom in the middle of the night barefoot. The main lobby has a restaurant/bar area right when you walk in, and it can be loud/busy at times, but other times it can be very quiet, depending on the number of conferences/events are occurring at the hotel. We didn't realise when booking quite how easy it was to walk to Venice Beach for restaurants & breakfast - be sure to try The Venice Whaler upstairs & for breakfast the Cow's End. Hotel has a trendy bar area both inside & out and service there was friendly & efficient. Pool area was ok but quite shaded, fitness room too small for size of hotel. Convenient location for getting to the airport too

Loved this place...elegant in a very laid back, California way. The outdoor bar area is amazing-wish I could've hung out there more. Beautiful room and common areas. Nice location. There is an iconic barbeque shrimp joint across the street and up a block. I dream of that shrimp...

Room stunk of cigarette smoke & musty smell from water condensation. The bathroom wasn't cleaned nor prepped well. The hotel was dark & just rundown looking. Expected more from Marriot. Wouldn't return.

Great staff. Cool, Cali-vibe bar and courtyard area. However, tired and worn out rooms. The very worst concierge-level lounge of any Marriott (possibly any major brand hotel) I have ever stayed. Done on the cheap and charge $7/beer for Platinum members! Truly an embarrassing spread of cheap "free" hors d'oeuvres???

Very tired property, needs a major makeover, I stayed here for the past six months for three days each month. I was assigned a room this week that was in the basement. No more, there are much better properties in LA.

I loved this hotel and the view of the Marina! The staff is super friendly and they have a lot of options for families. Their lounge room has game for kids, tv, pool table, etc. Very cool to spend a long weekend with family. I just wish the pool were bigger but can't complain when you have the ocean a block away!

My best friend and I chose to stay here for a girls night away. We found the hotel to be centrally located, clean and up to date. We had a great view of the harbor, maybe that is thanks to my husbands platinum status. We first chose to rent beach cruisers from the hotel and headed for lunch. After lunch we biked around and returned to have cocktails in the lounge. For dinner we walked to the Cheesecake Factory. In the morning we walked to Starbucks. The only thing I think the hotel lacks is ... Read more

My friend and I stayed here for 6 nights while visiting her son who moved to the LA area. It was in a great location and the outdoor area was a great place to sit and enjoy a drink before heading to bed. Speaking of the beds, they were extremely comfortable as were the pillows! The staff was very helpful and the food was good too! No complaints! I would stay here again if I ever go back to the LA area.

I selected this hotel primarily based on location (walking distance to peoplewatching at Venice Beach, very close to Santa Monica restaurants and shopping). It definitely exceeded my expectations. The front desk staff was very welcoming and managed to get us an early checkin even at 10 a.m. The rooms are pretty and bathroom a good size. Pool is small but sunny and has bar service which is awesome along with a Jacuzzi. We really loved the back patio Sinders with all the fireplaces, great place fo... Read more

The best part of this hotel is the wonderful bed after a day in the conference rooms. Issues I had were the conference rooms were too cold and it took a while for them to adjust. The breakfast was just okay. The conference rooms worked for us well. Just not sure if we got the value for the money spent.

Public areas are lovely. We didn't eat there. The facility was quite full when we were there. Room was lovely. LOVED the location! Took long walks around the marina. Discovered a delicious japanese restaurant within walking distance. Nice staff --location cant be beat!

I stayed here as part of a large group in early September. The hotel was clean, service was good overall but did get a bit slow during the breakfast service as the staff obviously struggled to keep up with the orders. The rooms (I was on the top floor) were of a good standard in line with the quality of the Marriott brand. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

We stayed here for a multi-day event and thought the hotel was nice. This is also a common hotel of choice for airlines to put up their crews, and was fairly booked when we stayed here (TOMS conference going on, etc.), but otherwise the staff is helpful and the recent renovations make the property seem modern and inviting. Rooms are an okay size, with standard items you'd expect at Marriott hotels. Not an overly luxurious or fancy hotel, but you know what you're getting and was good for the pri... Read more

This is a modern Marriott hotel that is about 3 blocks from Venice beach and right across the street from Mothers Beach and the Marina. The staff is extremely friendly, from the valet to the front desk to house keeping. This is what you'd expect from a Marriott. The rooms are large and modern. We didn't have any issues and had a great stay. If we ever return to the area - we'll certainly be staying here again !

I wasn't expecting much, but I loved this hotel. Without exception, every single member of staff we met, were absolutely charming, helpful and really made our stay enjoyable. Loved the courtyard area with the fires. Food was delicious and so were the cocktails. The bed were incredibly comfortable and we slept really well.

I have stayed a couple of times at the Jamaica Bay Inn but decided to try the Marriott this time. We will definitely be back. It has all the amenities one could want, plus the staff, without exception, were wonderful; accommodating, warm, attentive and friendly. It is a busy hotel with a good vibe and it is well located to explore the Venice Beach area. We didn't dine there but sat at the bar for a couple of drinks. Great bartenders and terrific draft beer! We loved this hotel!

Can't say I'm easy to please, particularly at over three bills a night. But...Room was clean unlike AirBnB we'd just come from although that's a different review. Bed was quite comfortable. TV huge - maybe tad too big for best resolution. Nice view on both sides of the building with small walk out. Staff was quite friendly. Convenient to restaurants. Optional parking across the street much cheaper than valet really met our needs. Nice outdoor bar area was booked up both nights. Indoor bar... Read more

Nice enough - but little irritations... such as: only one coffee for two guests for the in-room coffee maker; the business center charges guests for internet access after the first 10 min; directions around the marina were reluctantly and incorrectly given. Like I said - nothing major but irritating.

Stayed one night when scheduled to fly out of LAX the next day . Much better option than staying at an airport hotel- due to the proximity to Venice Beach. 15-20 min cab ride to airport. Didn't get to spend as much time there as I would have liked, but it was worth the extra money to spend late afternoon and early morning on the Beach . Much less costly than staying in Santa Monica , and the beach doesn't seem as crazy- the pier in Santa Monica is way too crowded. It takes a good 10 minutes to w... Read more

Although I more of an SPG guy, the hotel selection was made by the company hosting our meeting. The lobby and lobby bar are sleek and modern. I was in a 9th floor concierge floor room and was surprised to have a sliding glass door to open which overlooked the marina and ocean. Rare to get to open a window in a hotel so it was a pleasant surprise, even if not as scenic as you would think. It was a 10-minute walk to the marina and Venice Beach, a great way to start the day before being cooped up... Read more

Even though Marina del Rey is not far from LAX, there was no noise. It's close to airport, not on top of it. The front of the hotel, and our room looked out onto "Mother's Beach" which is a man made Marina with a small beach, good for paddle boarding, boating, etc. I wouldn't swim there, too many boats, not sure how clean water is. We used our points to stay on the 7th floor with Concierge privileges to the 8th floor room that has a free buffet breakfast in the morning, light fare of hors dourv... Read more

Nice hotel, like everyother Marriott but nothing special. Good locatión 10 min walk to venice beach. Try to ask for a room with a view, othewise you will end up with a nice parking lot one. The rooms are Ok, mine was with a bit of cigarrete smells, i guess it is because of the balcony.
