"This hotel has potential but is not a wonderful place to stay. It is located in Manhattan Beach which is several miles straight south of LAX and easy to get to. This is a plus, but the hotel itself was dated and not in ship shape. The rooms were large, but poorly decorated and in need of new carpet and fixtures. The TV/remote was a joy, too with no control over volume and hard to navigate through channels. The bed was very so-so and the pillows were not good. We were shorted on towels and wash cloths consistently. The variety of the continental breakfast was about par with offerings from similar priced hotels. Overall it was comparable to a Motel 6 or similar lodging."

"Hotel pretty old--needs new carpet and furnishings in rooms. No comfortable chaiirs for sitting in room. Pillows nothing but lump-filled cases. Towels super thin and rough. No wash cloth the first day and just one thin, rough hand towel and 2 bath towels. Next day 1 washcloth and hand towel. From then on it was hit and miss whether we got a wash cloth, but always just 1 hand towel and 2 bath towels---all super thin and rough. Not enough tor 2 people in the room. Hotel staff not knowledgable about where to eat, what to see, how to get to places, etc. Liked the shuttle service, but that was about it. Breakfast did not much hearty food---just croissants, a few mini muffins, English muffins, packets of cheese, apples, green bananas and 2 cereal choices--Fruit Loops and Raisin Bran. We ended up going out to breakfast a few times just so we could get some eggs and regular breakfast food that would last until our next meal without eating so many carbs at their breakfast. Would not recommend this to any of our friends."

"Location was close to LAX there are free shuttles provided by hotel. I was checked in early to hotel which was gr8 after a 14 hr flight. hotel had free breakfast. loved word free breakfast was average. my room was downstairs not too far from reception i barely reached wifi but did work just slowly.
I was on holiday so was determined to have a great time and not let little things get in way but unfortunetly this hotel had a few things. #1 thing i noticed was plastic bag tied around the smoke detector... urm smoking or non ... shouldnt the bag have been removed for non smoking, i uploaded a picture to facebk which my friends found hilarious. #2 i had no clue how to turn on heat a non english speaking housekeeper helped me after some fumbled handsigns.... No clue how to work showers which wasnt hotels fault but being a big tourist city maybe some basics in a booklet in room might have been good or even given to forigners like myself at check in something saying the basics...3# I paid extra for spa room , when i happily filled it up and then turned on someone pointed jets at celing and it literally rained indoors while i was squealing and water pouring over celings mirrors electric outlets and the thro window..i used all towels to clean flooding on floor up.. continued smiling and holidaying.... 4# the guests staying in room above myself had left a tap running and hence the indoor rain poured once again this time all over the fridge and microwave and electrical sockets and came down from the light fitting in ceiling...... the staff located guests and had tap turned off and removed the appliances. offered myself no apology discounts or anyway of amends The shuttle driver i had was awesome very friendly easy to talk to gives local tips on seeing stuff and how to get around. was bit of walk from manhattan beach if ur up for walk all good for a cheaper price stay, if u want something more centrally located mite wanna shop round. Urh after staying here firstly id like to say stop charging $100 a night ur discounted prices at $60 (which i didnt get) a night should be ur normal price and even then id rather that on sale. and yeap everything i mentioned earlier.. i noticed staff had expectations of receiving good tips.. i didnt get good service. when i did was more than happy too! Oh and your housekeeping was using my perfume and used more than half a bottle in the 3 days i was in your country!"

"Was in this area due to a friend being in town and we wanted to stay by the beach/lax for cheap.This was convenient and clean,very close proximity to the beach and various restaurants.Staff was friendly.It could use a little updating but had all of the comforts that we needed for our 3 day stay,refrigerator,hair dryer,etc..we were allowed an early check in,although we had to wait for 2 hours until a room was ready.This was not a problem as we just went to the beach and watched the waves until we could get the room.The early check in came without a charge.Overall a pleasant experience and I would stay here again due to it being close to the beach,economical and the friendly staff."
