"The hotel looks NOTHING like it does in the pictures on this website or any other website. It is extremely old and worn down. It smelled horribly from the time I walked into the lobby all the way to the room. My bathroom did not have a shower curtain or hot water, and when I called the front desk to get a shower curtain I was told they didn't have any. I then asked to be moved to a different room so the security came and escorted me to 2 different rooms to choose from and upon my choosing the room, when I got down to the front desk to finalize the transaction they had given the room to someone else. After all of this, they upgraded me to a suite, which was a nice gesture to try to solve the problem, but the suite was just as filthy. I was very disappointed, but by that time I was just glad the room had hot running water. But I will never stay there again nor will I recommend it to anyone else. And the $25 parking fee is ridiculous."

"We got a street view. The carpets were sticky. No hot water. We went down to the lobby bar to grab some food. After waiting over an hour we found they lost the order and the kitchen had closed by then. The waiter and waitress who are obviously use to this chaos gave us some cold sandwiches and a bottle of champagne. The next morning we tried to get a cup of coffee from the bistro but left after we could not get any services from the man behind the counter who preferred to just stand there rather than take our order."

"The hotel was nice but the rooms were really dirty, the curtains were filthy, the pillows and bed was awful, woke up with a neck and back ache. The lights were dull. the room needs some majot upgrading. The website si realy deceiving and would never recommend anyone staying htere."

"I was not satisfied with the customer service at Wilshire Hotel due to the fact that I was informed that I would recieve a free upgrade to my package to a view room from a delux double. I arrived at the hotel around 5:30 pm, went to the room that I was given, which was still a delux double. I went back to the front desk to only be told that it was based on a first come first serve basis. I was then told that I could come back the next day before noon to see if anyone had checked out of the upgraded rooms, such as the view room, at which time I could move rooms. After which, I went back to the hotel and checked out. I was also told that I could come back when they did the upgrades and maybe I would enjoy my stay better then. We also had water damage on our ceiling. I was traveling with a four year old little boy and a room with no window screens."

"How emphatically can I say....never again!! The Wilshire Hotel was not only dirty and uncomfortable, the staff was unaccomadating and really didn't seem to care that the hotel was unacceptable. The only good news is that we were not compelled in any way to spend time in the hotel, we got up and out and spent time outside in Los Angeles.



In short, I would say that I would NEVER recommend this hotel. They told me that the hotel had just been sold and would be under renovation soon. Not soon enough!"

The Wilshire Hotel should be Motel.
That was probably the worst room that I have ever stayed in. Maybe I just had higher expectations from what seemed as a great hotel and landmark. It needs a lot of upgrades. I can't even say it was nice for the price. I could have stayed a nicer Motel 6.
The parking was ridiculous $25 a night!
My suggestion don't do it! Unless you are too drunk or tired to care!

"This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. When I arrived to hotel; it seemed like a nice place. However, when I got to my room it was nothing like the pictures online. The wall paper was peeling off, the carpets were stained, the molding from wall and fixtures were corroding, the TV was an old school box, and their were stains on the walls. I immediately called the front desk person who said she would change my room tomorrow. The next day, I spoke to a different front desk clerk about room and he was going to save me a room. When I got back later that evening, 'Oh sorry we don't have any rooms.' At this point, I just gave up on the hotel staff. DO NOT EVER STAY HERE!!!"

"We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and 5 days. The hotel is located in the heart of Koreatown area of LA city. The Metro subway is right across the road from the hotel, thus its well conected to the main attractions like downtown LA, Universal Studios and Hollywood Blvd, Rodeo Dr. There is a Starbucks cafe in the hotel lobby which is good to grab a quick bite. The hotel seems to be an old property. The rooms are very ok, we were always out for the entire day and came back late night so it didnt matter if the rooms werent fancy enough.The room service was good. We got a deluxe king room with a view of Hollywood sign and area which was pretty cool. The hotel staff/ concierge was good, offered us good advice about city sightseeing. Although dont go for the grand city view tour offered by them, its a waste of money. LA is very well connected so you can go anywhere on your own, just keep a map with you. The hotel area is Koreatown so mostly you will see Korean restaurants in the vicinity but again you can catch the 720 Metro rapid or the subway train to get to other spots. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is a traveller because its safe, well connected and service quality was decent."

"Ok, first let me say I rarely write negative reviews because I really am not all that picky like some. However, I'll take the time for this place. First, the book rate for this hotel was around $200 per night (bookit deal was 97 per night.) There is no way anyone should pay anything close to $200 per night, I was having a problem with $97 and here is why. We booked a king bedroom for two nights. When we checked in they were out of king rooms and gave us a two double bed room. Well thats just dandy when you want to sleep in the same bed as your spouse...a double bed is fine for kids, adults not so much. The room looks dated, small TV, Tears in the curtains, carpet was beat up, mold...yes mold on the bathroom ceiling and the room was just small. When we checked in the computer system was down so they couldn`t confirm our bookit deal even though we had it right on our phone. It was just overall a very poor experience and a place I will not revisit."

"Stayed one night, great price but vallet parking was 25 dollars or you could park on the street, not very safe. Staff was nice. Very nice lobby but the rooms needed to be updated, old tv, wallpaper, small restroom, terrible towels, super thin. Bed and pillows were comfortable. A few restaurants across the street as well as a Carl's Jr and McDonald's, the Japanese restaurant was very good and super cheap. Overall for a one night stay it was ok, but wouldn't pay anymore than I did."

"Our room was fine, clean and all but the hotel is quite dated. Needs some renovation and updating. It is centrally located but our room faced Wilshire Blvd and it was SUPER noisy. Nothing they can do I guess. Other then that it was an ok stay."

If we hadn't prepaid we would have driven on. the beds were something out of the 50's and toliet didn't work. the wallpaper looked like it was orginial and nothing has been updated. "This hotel is old, but it's just fine. I lived in LA for 20 years and don't know Koreatown well, but this hotel was near most of my meetings. The rooms are well-worn and they're not putting a lot into repairs since it's going to be torn down, but the staff is great and they do their best to take care of you. The charges for parking are a little outrageous -- but they are in all of LA.

The neighborhood isn't ghetto -- it's urban. If you don't like cities, don't stay in the middle of one. But there were great places in walking distance for coffee/breakfast and some great Korean food."

It was my first vacation to la and the staff and surrounding where the hotel was located was great I too the metro train to hollywood/highland and I was right there and the metro bus to rodeo drive if you take a cab to anyone of these locations you are crazy use the city transit it is great I will be back."
