As a Starwood Platinum member I see a lot of great hotels and meet a lot of great Starwood Employee. Courtney at the front desk of the W Los Angeles went above and beyond! She was friendly and extremely helpful in getting us into a comfortable room. This hotel has a great pool and is very convenient location to Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood and Hollywood.

Was fortunate to stay at this very solid and quiet property in LA and only a few minutes walking from UCLA. Right down the road (literally) from Bel-Air and Beverly Hills with great running on UCLA's campus and great residential areas near the property. The Backyard restaurant by the pool was a perfect spot for lunch on a sunny LA day. Restaurant and pool area had an LA feel and were happening for duration of the stay. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Valet and front desk staff wer... Read more

Oleg at the Front Desk is the man. He took care of us from the second we graced his presence. We had a short wait before we could check-in to our suite and he hooked us up with complimentary drinks by the pool. The staff was super accommodating when we asked for a full two hours extra before checking out. I've stayed at hotels with fancier rooms, but service is really what makes this W an amazing experience.

This was our 5th time at the W in Westwood. Our son has moved from UK to study at UCLA so this place is really convenient for when we visit him. It had a really cool vibe, great service, lovely pool and fantastic outdoor bar and dining.

if there's a heart button here on the review I would add that button. I may say that this hotel has the most coolest amenities in town. The person at the front desk Christel was really inviting and pleasant and very chic as to what this hotel represents...CHIC & MODERN. She took extra effort to show the features of our room and also tour us to what their hotel property has to offer...The bar, the pool area and the STK...Me and my friends felt really important and special. The W Hotel in Westwood was so beautiful! This was our first time back since their wonderful renovation, and MY GOSH what a pleasure to see such a nice touch to details. The staff and front desk was still a pleasure as I remembered, and Cynthia was as pleasurable and welcoming as always!! I can not thank you guys enough with such awesome hospitality and making my family feel like apart of the W Hotel family!

So if you book a queen room be aware it is one queen bed not 2. Book a double if you need 2 beds. Hotel is a wannabe cool hotel but instead of just looked rundown. Valet is over $50 a night. Roll away bed is $25 a night. Breakfast for six people ended up being $140 and this week is with two of them being under seven years old ordering just cereal off of the kids menu. So basically if you are going to stay in this hotel get ready for the fees to add up or just don't Rent-A-Car and Uber ever... Read more

Located just minutes from Rodeo Drive, this exclusive property tales the cool factor tot he next level. From the entrance waterfall steps to the lobby and lounges, first impression was awesome. I stayed for 4 days there. The hotel is in a good place short drive to Santa Monica beach or Hollywood that I liked. Rooms are clean and spacy, but furniture is bit outdated but the bed is comfortable. What I do not like about this hotel that parking cost 50$ the internet also is not free! I suggest taking this hotel only in consideration that you will need to pay ~70$ each day additional to room rate.

Having earned SPG Platinum based on too many nights at W's and other SPG properties all over the world, it's easy to recognize exceptional service - and that's exactly what we experienced at the W. This is a 3-4 star hotel pretending it's a 5 star hotel. At a $200-225 rack rate, I'd really like this place. At the actual rate of $400-500, it's significantly overpriced. It's primary asset is its location, location, location. As far as I can tell this is the only full service hotel within walking distance of UCLA, and that's a HUGE plus. Dozens of Westwood village restaurants are also a stroll away (a good thing, as the in house restaurant serves $100 per person dinners). The staff, are als... Read more

I stayed at the W in Westwood last week while dropping my daughter off to her Freshman year of UCLA. I am well traveled, and I usually stay in 5+ star hotels, so when I arrived at the W, I was keenly aware that it was not 5 star - but the prices are! First, why do they claim this hotel is in "West Beverly Hills"? There isn't any such place. The hotel is in an area known as Westwood and almost abuts the UCLA campus. The hotel obviously aims for a young, hip crowd, but they do several things well--and a few not as well. I recently stayed in this hotel for one night, and it was what I expected. It is a tired looking hotel trying to be as hip as it was in the 1990s. Although the bed was comfortable, the room was just ok, typical for most Starwood properties. One can only hope that the purchase of the chain by Marriott either improves the chain or gets rid of it once and for all. It is not worth the money for staying in West Beverly Hills, wherever that is.

What could be better than a Ibiza beach-style hotel in the middle of Hollywood Boulevard LA? That's what you get at "W". The W Los Angeles has the best combination of positioning for business meetings, but also enough calm spaces for relaxation. They also treat their loyal customers better than most other hotels to which made the experience feel warm and inviting.

Once in a while everything clicks and you have the most astounding time you can possibly imagine. This was one of those trips. Flying in for just 24 hours for my wife's birthday, our experience at the W Hotel was first rate, thanks to our host Oleg Zabavskiy. He was incredibly attentive to our requests, deciphered our transport requests and made my wife feel welcome and a special for her surprise birthday trip. Everyone had a smile on their faces and were happy to assist. Can't thank you a... Read more

Check in was great, the room is great, the facility is great, everything was well taken care of. Only gripes: $50 for valet parking??? and if you're charging me gratuity on room service, I should be made aware of it so I don't double tip on it, like I did.

My sister and I went to LA for her birthday in April (April 28-May 2nd). We spent a wonderful 5 days and 4 nights in the hotel. We loved the location and its proximity to all of the places we visited. Christine and the rest of the Concierges were amazing. They helped me arrange a cupcake birthday surprise and a private black suv celebrity home tour. We had so much fun. The hotel was fun and contemporary as you would expect from a W hotel. The rooms were surprisingly spacious. The Valets ... Read more

Check in was great due to Cynthia Phan, who greeted me as if we have met many times before. I felt like family and not a guest in this hotel. Front desk staff during my stay was GREAT. I had to call maintenance for some repair and Head of Engineering Juan Monterrosa came and fixed it. Wow that is service. If I had a business, this is how it should be ran. Thank you, W Hotel John

Stayed at the W Los Angeles in Westwood while on business for 5 days and I loved my experience. Very well located, near the university and Westwood village with tons of shopping and restaurant options. Really nice renovated property. I arrived early and waited to check in for almost 4 hours. In spite of this they upgraded my room and offered two drink coupons. This really showed the quality of service this hotel offers. I ate at both the Backyard restaurant and STK. fantastic food and drinks ... Read more

I have been traveling to LA every month for almost 2 yrs now. I typically stay at this hotel all week. I have had my issues with the hotel itself but the valet staff, specifically Shin, AAron and Manny, have been AWESOME. They always great you with a smile and are always so very helpful. I enjoy speaking to them when I am waiting for my car. Its a nice start to a long day :-) The Front Desk Staff is awesome as well. Although I am unable to remember their names. Everything about this hotel was superb. From the personal, warm welcome to our easy departure, we dealt with real people who were generally interested in how our stay was and made us feel so welcome, especially Nhan - even though we only stayed one night!

I booked the Fabulous suite as a gift for a friend's birthday. It was HUGE! Large living area and two bedrooms - which is a great value for what we paid. The second bedroom has a murphy bed that can be pushed into the wall if you need more space. The staff was extremely helpful through the entire stay. The pool is a bit small but not at all crowded on a Saturday afternoon. Definitely recommend this hotel!

We booked this by accident thinking it was closer to Hollywood. Despite that we enjoyed our stay. Friendly and attentive staff went above and beyond for us. Super clean and comfortable room. Lots of space. Comfy bed, pillows and room temp. Downsides: the rooms are definitely not soundproof, and would be nice to get 2 complimentary bottles of water instead of just one. Thanks for making it a great stay!

We are SPG members and he extended an invite for us to stay at the PH suite. My hubby has been ill for a while and this was such a wonderful gift from Nhan especially because he didn't know our circumstances. First off- there is no such place as West Beverly Hills. Hotel is in Westwood! Not sure why they think it makes a difference... The grounds are very pretty- small pool if that is important to you and no hot tub. The rooms are nice enough though getting a bit dated. My wife and I needed a hotel to stay in since I had an appointment at UCLA medical center the next morning. We stayed here to avoid the dang 405 traffic. We checked in and with our SPG gold got an upgrade. The room was on the 16th floor with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Tub was extra large and great. Flat screen tv was on stand at end of bed and easy to see. We enjoyed our nights stay. Easy walk to UCLA and local restaurants. Excellent staff. I recommend the W! (To Travel Is To Live)

Check in review still stands based on service. Sadly, stay did not live up to that start. As SPG Gold Member used to better room assignments & don't let them stick you on the construction side for at least a year! Construction started at 5:45 am & double pane windows & earplugs didn't help.

Stayed here recently for business. Rate was reasonable for LA so decided to book it for a week. A few friends that are local have told me this isn't really Beverly Hills. The area is pretty quiet, low key. A few restaurants within walking distance and overall a nice area (went for a run outside one day, feels safe, but very hilly). Service is very good. It was disappointing that they didn't have a in room coffee machine. In general the staff was very friendly, especially Nanh who checked us in. The location is great if you need to be in westwood or near the 405. The hotel is a little dated and in need of a facelift in the rooms. They are modern and I think modern tires easily. The fitness center is functional and open 24 hours. We were particularly impressed with the service provided by Christine Han and her team, including assistance with my mum's birthday celebrations. Mr. Fishy has no one but himself to blame. He keeps staying at this hotel even though it shows him no love. Yes, it's in a great UCLA neighborhood, has spacious suites, a nice backyard pool and earns Starwood points. But over the course of multiple stays, I have been locked in the bathroom when the door handle fell off, waited endlessly for elevators, experienced no heat/ac, couldn't find anyone in the lobby area so I could check out, and on and on.
