Attended a journalism convention at the hotel and was overwhelmed with the beauty and openness of the vast lobby. The main four floors of the hotel offer everything from a dentist office to a fully equipped hair salon. I even forgot a pair of socks. The gift shop on the main floor had some pricey options when it came to socks so I went up a floor and found a cute little clothing boutique where who I believe was the shop owner helped me find a pair for less than five bucks. SCORE! What does this ... Read more

Very easy to check in. Staff professional and pleasant. Room was large, clean and very comfortable bed/pillows. Excellent for meeting and reunions. It is close to other hotels and businesses. Located in Downtown LA with easy access to public transportation. Breakfast buffet was good, a lot of choices. It provides a coffee pot in your room.

The Westin Bonaventure rooms are very very comfortable and offer a great view of downtown Los Angeles. It is like a small town inside. I had a room high up overlooking the outdoor pool and downtown Los Angeles. The housekeeping service was excellent. There are several fast food options on the lower levels if you're in a hurry.

Let's start with check in. Arrived at the hotel, was late but there was no one to offer help with bags or anything. Upon check in, made a simple request to have two cards swiped for two different reservations (I have done this many times at other Starwood properties) but they were unable to accommodate. Lobby was amazing. Beautiful layout, decor and great vibe. Rooms were okay. Very clean and had everything needed (desk, fridge, safe, etc.) I seem to always have the same problem with Westin h... 5 stars for service, lobby area and location. 3 stars for guest room interior. Stayed here for business but had a little time for other things. Initial look at the room I was a little disappointed. Decor, bathroom looked a little dated -poor outlets and lack of near bed for phones. Even the alarm clock was dated. Basic bathroom amenities- no cotton balls, qtips but can probably get them if requested. There is a one cup coffee machine with Starbucks coffee and 2 water bottles replenished daily.... Read more

For the price paid, this was the smallest room ever! The property is huge and easy to get lost. There are multiple towers so you have to pay attention to use the right one. They have a lot of restaurants and bars throughout but I think in general it could use a facelift.

I stay here because I am SPG platinum, and this hotel is the most centrally located to downtown of all SPG properties in LA. That being said, this property is dated and continues to show more and more wear with each visit (my last being March of 2016). Everything is in need of a facelift, and I hope that SPG will invest in the updates needed to maintain the allure of this iconic property. Given my last stay, it is in desperate need of upgrades -- even the pillows were yellowed and stained.

This hotel is in a fantastic location - it is located right near the highway so the ride from the airport is pretty straight and takes about 25-30 minutes when not peak. Close to the financial district, Staples Center and shopping and food court at Fig at 7th, the hotel is also iconic - used in a lot of movies in the 80s and 90s. The check-in is really busy during the peak hours and the staff rush you through without the usual warmth and smiles. Rooms were musty and dusty I think because the ho... Read more

The property is a bit dated, but it still retains that grand hotel feel along with its historic past. They have tried their best to update and refresh where they could so you get the best of both old and new I suppose. It's also a one stop shop for everything they have a ton of restaurants and shops right in the hotel, so its very convenient. We live in Los Angeles, but always choose the Bonaventure for our annual (semi-annual if we're lucky) kid-free "staycation." If you're looking for the most plush, posh or newest, this may not be the hotel for you. It is older, and while the rooms and facilities are very clean and well maintained, it feels like an older hotel. But that's what we love about it. The goofy 70's architecture and proximity to the newly exciting parts of Downtown LA make it perfect for a grown-up getaway that len... Read more

The architecture of this hotel is very cool. It has 4 towers that surround a central column which creates a very impressive lobby. Lots of independent restaurants from inexpensive to pricy inside on the 4th floor. Great gym. Rooms were modern and beds very comfortable. Walkway across Figueroa takes you to another restaurant area. Great part of town. Pool was stupendous. A truly cool place.

With the exception of the $47 parking I had a really great time in this landmark. The pool was an oasis in down town la. The rooms were well kept and the staff was friendly. Sure it's a period piece to another time but I like the 70s-90s and they keep things up nicely.

Fortunately I locked in a great price on this hotel during a weekday business trip (less than $200 aft taxes & fees). The area is definitely central, walking distance to many restaurants and business plazas. The outside of the hotel has an interesting architectural design with cylinder shaped buildings that enhance the view from the rooms with floor to ceiling Windows. First of all, don't stay here if you're afraid of heights. Period. The elevators are glass, and I was always aware of high up we were (red tower room). Not that it was a problem, really, but I can see myself being freaked out the entire time with the floor to ceiling glass. The room wasn't large, but it wasn't small. It was clean. This hotel is absolutely massive, with four large towers spiraling above a six-story base. It was clearly designed during that unfortunate period in the 60s and 70s when everyone decided that concrete was all the rage. The rooms are well appointed and often have good views and the location is nice. Where the hotel loses points is in two ways . First, the design of the hotel requires you to go either up or down after entering before going to your room. Second, the pool is way too small given ... Read more

This hotel in downtown L.A. his HUUUGE!!! It has lots of character and I guess it's been featured in several movies like Clint Eastwood's "In The Line Of Fire." I was only here for one night of business and it suited my needs just fine. The only complaint I can come up with was how noisy the pipes got when an adjacent room took a shower in the morning. I would stay here again without hesitation. Although older, it has been updated and they've made the effort to keep it fresh and chic.
