I would probably class this as a boutique Hotel. Small, yet new and modern. My family consist of 4 adults stayed in a 2 bedroom suite last week. The room was clean and roomy, no complains about the suite at all. Although it's kind of pricey (we paid around $420 a night plus resort fee and valet, so around $500) but the location makes it worth the price, you're basically in the middle of Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Santa Monica is also just a few minutes drive away. The hotel offers complimentar... Read more

Love the Kimpton chain but this was not my favorite mainly due to the location. As usual the staff and rooms were top notch. A smaller hotel in contemporary decor but located among the fast food restaurants and strip centers on the fringes of Beverly Hills. Rooftop pool with views of the Hollywood Hills and complimentary wine hour from 5-6.

This is situated on the Miracle Mile. Its about a 5-10 minute drive to Rodeo Drive in one direction or a 3-5 minute drive in the other to County Museum of Art. The Building itself will not look too much like a boutique hotel but once inside it is up to regular Kimpton standards. Car parking is to the left of reception and is quick whilst the best feature of the hotel is the rooftop. There is a pool, a bar and food which was enjoyed by the patrons we saw eating even though we just had drinks. Th... Read more

I always enjoy Kimpton properties and this was no exception. The location isn't wonderful, but I would definitely recommend the hotel if you need to be in this area. Be sure to go up to the rooftop for a great view.

Really nice hotel direct in the city so be aware of prices around 300 US Dollar plus. There is only a la card breakfast offered on their really nice roof terrasse. The terrasse is is ovely and the bar or restaurant a cool place to spend time. The service and quality of food and drinks was really good. You have a great view from there. Forget the pool it is only a kids thing.

Kimpton has a well-deserved reputation for providing a high-touch, boutique experience in stylish, if somewhat snug, rooms. This edition offers the added advantage of a roof-top bar and restaurant with terrific views. I've stayed here several times and they've always done a good job. The breakfast is a bit pricy - but there's always the McDonald's a few steps away for the frugal-minded. One really nice hotel feature is that if you send a picture file to them in advance, they'll print and frame i... Read more

I make nearly monthly trips to LA for business and thought I discovered a gem at Hotel Wilshire. My first experience at Hotel Wilshire was warm, inviting and enjoyable. It only lasted 18 hours as I stayed overnight and headed out the following morning. There wasn't enough time to experience how flawed the gem actually is. During my first trip I was awarded some type of "Guest of the Day" at check in which meant I received a slightly nicer room, bottle of wine and a fruit platter. Great way to ... Read more

We picked this hotel mainly for the location. It's close to a lot of areas (Beverly Hills, Hollywood, The Grove, the Tar Pits and Art Museum). We had a larger suite which had a kitchenette, huge dining table, sitting room and separate bedroom and bathroom. Our son slept on the pull out couch and it was perfect for him. The rooftop bar and restaurant are tiny and the one night we tried to go up for drinks- there was not any availability(and that was in the middle of the week.) For that reason I w... Read more

Enjoyed 2 nights at The Hotel Wilshire. Great location, easy to get around. The room was small but comfortable and well furnished. The rooftop "pool" is really a wading pool, that serves as the backdrop to the restaurant, which was over priced and nothing special. Friendly staff. Wouldn't spend more than $250/night here.

We stayed 4 nights at the Hotel Wilshire for our young family of 5. It is often to find hotels that can fit 2 adults and three kids. Our room had two queens and a pull out coach in a separate sitting room. The hotel has a trendy vibe and a spacious bathroom. We also liked the location which was a short drive to Beverly Hills. What sold us on the hotel when we were booking our stay was the rooftop pool bar/restaurant. It has an amazing view of the Hollywood Hills and above average food. We ... Read more

The location of the hotel is in a bit of a transitional area but close enough to walk to the grove and handy to west hollywood and beverly hills. There is a small, but pretty rooftop pool which was nice to breakfast by or have a happy hour libation. Service was great and took great pride in the property. A complimentary coffee bar in the morning and wine hour in the evening rounded out the experience. Rooms were clean, ample-sized and nicely appointed. Fitness buffs will need to walk 3-4 bl... This place has it all! The room is huge, the service is great, the restaurant on the roof with the sparking pool is fantastic, and makes you feel you're on a fabulous vacation away from the city. I loved everything about this hotel. The valet service is on point with someone always on standby waiting to help you, and the front desk was so nice and accommodating. The bed was okay, but the pillows are amazing. I thought the bathroom was very roomy as well. The lighting options were perfect and eve... Read more

Some people are just addicted to Kimpton. I am one of those people. Always great service and nice touches. (To wit: the house bicycle that I was able to borrow free of charge to head up to the Farmer's Market for breakfast.) The only downside was that our room (#206) had some odd early morning noises due to its proximity to the second floor lounge/kitchen area. The rooftop pool is nice, though smaller than it looks in pictures. It was also crowded in the evenings. The location is perfect for Bev... Read more

Overall, a very nice hotel just a couple of blocks from the La Brea tar pits and the LA County Museum of Art. Not far from Rodeo Drive. Well decorated; noticed a lack of gratuitous "hotel art"-thank you! No bellman-also no clear sign as to what to do with your car while checking in. There are cones to prevent non-guests from parking in the garage, unfortunately, unless you know the drill, it keeps guests out as well! The rooms are nice with good soundproofing and a very comfortable bed. The bath... Read more

As with any Kimpton hotel, the staff and hotel itself are outstanding. We always enjoy the wine hour. This hotel has a very small rooftop pool (not the best for children since people are eating all within a close proximity) that is only 3 feet deep. The rooftop lounge is pretty with limited views of the city. The room we had was huge. The bathroom was incredible with a separate shower and huge tub. But the location was disappointing -- with lots of construction. You could walk to the LACM... Read more

Unable to fault the staff at this lovely hotel. As they were locals, they told us the 'must see' attractions of LA and how to do it on such a short time frame. Such a great location too, being a similar distance to most LA attractions.

LA is sooo espensibbb even more than my love Vegas!  Honestly, I would have preferred to stay at a Starwood Property because I'm an SPG member but unless it was in downtown or by LAX it was pricey.  I did so much researching trying to find a reasonably priced hotel in West LA or Westwood & stumbled upon this new hotel.   The Hotel Wilshire is a small boutique hotel that encompasses six floors but is clean, has the mod look which we love, and is quiet!  Ohh and did I mention you could totally... Having worked in the Architecture field and being a proponent of making an effort to improve the environment's chance of survival, I was excited to experience this hotel. I needed to book a room for a mini-break for my boyfriend's birthday and after considering hotels such as The London, Sunset Marquis, and The Mondrian, I went with The Hotel Wilshire. First off, we love Kimpton Hotels and the fact that THIS one was less than a 10 minute walk to concert we were attending at the Saban Theatre, made it a slam-dunk. Beyond that, you can also walk to numerous art museums, the La Brea Tar Pits and slightly farther but totally do-able, the wonderfully historic Farmers Market. Getting back to the hotel...typical of Kimptons, the service was wonderful. Allowing us an early check in, complimentary champagne and fruit/sweets tray (celebrating special o... Read more

Another Kimpton hotel delivers!  Beautiful hotel, excellent customer service from every single employee and a great rate for what you get.  Love being a Kimpton rewards member, too.  *Oh, and I added a note that we were staying there to celebrate a birthday and they left a wonderful welcome surprise for us in the room.  A fruit & nut snack tray complete with a chilled bottle of champagne and a handwritten birthday note.  Lovely!

Our first room was snugly nestled between two active elevators, and for our first night we enjoyed the drunken sounds of the late night partiers stumbling down from The Rooftop Bar, or should I say "bap" because the sign giving directions, much like everything else in the hotel was damaged. In fact, there was not a single surface at the hotel that is not marred or damaged in some fashion. Upon checking in on July 23, 2016, we were met by Kim, our first brush with Kimpton hotels, the ambassador to their name brand. Immediately, she made us feel unimportant and "cheap" by crudely referencing the American Express Platinum Card offering which provides 1 free day after 3 paid days. My wife and I travel quite often, and as such encounter all manner of individuals, thus we simply ignored this behavior and set off to our room. We had a five night stay in Hotel Wilshire. Check in and out and valet parking were smooth and efficient.
