Enjoyed two nights here. Very nice front staff great location across from the beach. Got upgraded to s suite. Fabulous room. Holiday Inn gets a bad rap as a budget place but this venue is a definite cut above the rest. And the staff could compete with the Ritz. First class all the way. Frankly the only hint of "Holiday Inn-ness" were the plastic cups in the room. Perhaps they should spring for glass. But truly that was minor. Great overall experience.

Working in Irvine for 6 days, staying in Laguna allowed me to escape the corporate environment and relax. Friendly staff and a nice pool aided in this. Rooms are comfortable without being deluxe. The restaurant is only open at weekends so that's not overly convenient. But I enjoyed my stay and will return in May.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in preparation for our wedding day, so we booked a suite to ensure we had plenty of room. The room was a very cozy and spacious, it had a small fireplace in the living room area and the bath room was very large even containing a small hot tub. All the rooms surrounded a very nice pool and gazebo area with lots of shade to sunbathe or just enjoy a few laps in the pool. Getting in an out of the parking lot to your room was very easy also because there ... Read more

Lovely place, well maintained and a nice pool, plenty of parking. No breakfast but so many restaurants and cafes nearby to choose from. Across the road from the beach and about 10 minutes walk to the Laguna beach board walk. Would definitely recommend for a short stay. My only complaint would be the rooms are a little small.

My husband and I stayed here for 10 nights and we're very pleased. We found the hotel a good price compared to others in the area. Location is good however we had a car so travelling around was not a problem. Located right by a grocery store which we found useful and a close walk to the beach and local shops restaurants and galleries. The rooms were a little on the small side but clean and comfortable. Bed was comfortable and bathroom clean and tidy. Large TV with lots of channels and a dec... Read more

Hotel was nice and staff were really nice, including the security guard monitoring the hotels parking lot. Room was small but pretty clean. Bed was comfortable. Location was the ultimate, grocery store, restaurants, beach, shopping and night life just a few steps away from the hotel. A gentleman ( from Texas) working at the hotels front desk recommended a restaurant-The Cliff, that was absolutely fantastic. Food was delicious, band playing was great and the view was so picture perfect. Watched t... Read more

We were absolutely delighted with his hotel. It has a motel style layout but it feels more like a little oasis. The pool area is lovely with beautiful flowers and is so pretty in both the day and night. The staff are all very welcoming and the reception area is lovely with a roaring fire. The complimentary water, tea, coffee, soft drinks and popcorn are quite unique in California and a great little extra. The hotel is in a great location just across the street to the stunning beach and close to ... Read more

This hotel is not the greatest but any deficiencies are more than compensated by the friendly helpful staff and great position. The pool area is better than the pictures on the website show and whilst the rooms are a bit small and dark, they have everything you could wish for except a safe! However reception have a safe deposit and don't mind how often you use it. Wifi is excellent throughout the hotel and free. We stay here for three nights. We showed up at 11 am and requested an early check in. Went to lunch walked the beach and about 2 hrs later we were relaxing in our room. The room was very nice. The location of the hotel is awesome. We ended up extending our stay for 2 more nights. Patty at the front desk was great. She took amazing care of us, was always friendly, and very efficient at her job. The only down side was the lack of vending machines, but they did offer free Coke and Diet Coke for fre... Read more

It is a standard hotel, perhaps a little to high price for the standard. No breakfast at all, which is standard for all hotels in Sweden. However we had a pretty large refrigerator where you can store your breakfast, especially with Ralph food store just across the street. As we were 2 adults and 2 children's there were not really any possibilities to unpack out baggage.

Employees were all fantastic. Parking good. Location OK to downtown area but Very busy street with heavy fast traffic. Beach accessed from across street is NOT where your family will want to hang out, it is narrow and sand not great. There are much better beaches in driving distance so the location isn't much benefit. (Crescent Bay in LB or better Salt Creek Beach in Dana Point is excellent). Pool area is nice but small. Rooms are a big part of the low rating, first floor very dungeon-li... Read more

I was here on Saturday night. The hotel shuttle van was on time for pickup and check in was quick and easy. The front desk staff...nice. The room was nice, beds comfortable, and the a/c worked great! Close to the airport and the baseball stadium. I recommend this hotel.

Spent one night with my son as a side trip to our San Diego lacrosse tournament travel. Did not realize it was a motel when booked. Nice.,but not special. Rooms are small and could use a little TLC. I put this as a nice and convenient 3.5 hotel. Staff was extremely nice.

We were 3 60+ ladies. Reservations since April with rolleraway bed for 3rd person. Actually gave us mattress on the floor instead of rollaway bed. Had the nerve to say it was not guarenteed. Carpet is visibly dirty and they expect us to sleep on matress on the floor. They were kind enough to give us sheets and waived the extra charge. We had confirmed our reservations just 2 hours prior and they failed to tell us the bed was not available. If they had we would never have come for these condition... Read more

Definitely one of the best holiday inns I've come across. Feels like your in a Spanish Villa- not too many rooms and a decent pool situated in the patio. Service is ok. Rooms are clean and staff was generally friendly. Great location walking distance to the beach, bars and restaurants.

We enjoyed our stay at the Laguna Beach Holiday Inn so much. We come back every year because the property in just a fun place. The people who work there are so friendly and helpful. In the past few years Karen, Dylan, Sabiha, & Monica have been regulars at the front desk. They have always done such a great job and always make our stay more pleasant. I love the IHG brand, but this property is a well-kept secret for those who have never stayed. I??ve never met the GM Nooshin, but one thing I do k... Read more

From the moment we were greeted in the peaceful lobby to the moment we reluctantly packed our bags to go home, this hotel was a lovely place to stay and relax. The lobby has fresh popcorn all day as well as nicely flavored water, sodas and coffee. The rooms are all arranged around a lovely pool area with beautifully tended flowers and live greenery. We could not be happier.

Really difficult to find affordable accommodation in the summer in Laguna beach but this is a gem. I would describe it somewhere between hotel and motel but everything worked well. Friendly staff and free water & popcorn, lemonade and coffee was a nice touch. Fantastic location too

Difficult to find great hotels in center of Laguna Beach. I very carefully had read the many negative reviews of most of the local "motel", as these are definitely not " hotels". It has been ages since I stayed in a motel with window A/C, noisy A/C, small rooms, etc.. But I am not complaining, as long as you know what you are getting. I am moving the next day to a super luxury hotel in expensive downtown LA, and this motel is more expensive. So now on to the positives: super friendly reception, ... Read more

We arrived late last night and after a reservation mishap on our part, we found that we did not have a reservation. Fortunately they had one room left. My 2 teens, wife and I visited Laguna Beach for the first time in June so we didn't know what to expect. Long story short is I'm glad we picked the Holiday Inn! It's close to everything you would want. Although it's not on the beach it's only a block away!

Located on the Pacific Coast Highway hugging the ocean, this clean property could not be better located. Friendly staff and surprisingly quiet. I found it being located next to a full service Albertson's supermarket to make the location greater. If you are looking for a Four Seasons experience, go somewhere else. But if you want a fun and easy hotel in the middle of everything, stay here.

We just spent four nights here and overall enjoyed the stay. We were upgraded to a suite (Spire status is worth it), which was spacious but a bit funky. The furniture and room overall were in need of updating, but it didn't bother us. The room had a fireplace which would be nice in the winter, but it was padlocked during our stay. TV in main room and in bedroom. Nice large bathroom with jetted tub, which we didn't use. The bed was comfortable, if a bit soft. Fridge and microwave. Our suite was o... Read more

Our family of four spent a couple of nights at this hotel after staying at many others down California's Route 1. This was the best by far. In Sept when on vacation and travelling from San Diego to LA, we made an unscheduled stop here for 1 night. What a tranquil place and quaint hotel we randomly chose! The room itself was suitably equipped and cosy. Furthermore the view onto the pool which was lit up at dusk, and the ironwork surrounding both the apartments and pool area, was charming. We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions and we are never disappointed. All the rooms face the pool which is a lovely aspect. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff are courteous and helpful - we really couldn't find fault with anything and we wouldn't hesitate in returning. The very slight downside was the on site restaurant (which we'd used in the past and found to be very good), was only open on Friday and Saturday evenings. Last minute we decided to stop and stay in Laguna Beach. We have been many times, but this time had an issue finding a hotel. I went on to Trip Advisor and Hotels Tonight and it seemed that the Holiday Inn would be a good choice, though a bit expensive at $300+ for the night. When we signed-in the rooms weren??t ready and we would be back later that evening once the room was cleaned. When we returned we could not believe that the door would not open fully as the bed hit the door. Even w... Read more
