Nice view, best deal I found in the area. My parents stayed there on their visit to see me and they really enjoyed it. No breakfast but on La Jollas Main street with plenty of shops and restaurants around. Basic needs, good nights rest, and friendly staff.

I generally don't write many reviews. I usually benefit a business with word to mouth recommendations and continued business. Today I make an exception. After a disgusting adventure upon arrival at another Hotel, I looked forward to my stay at La Jolla Inn based on its close proximity to many activities I had planned for my trip. My room, when I entered was quaint and cozy and everything I could have expected for the reasonable rate I booked it for. Being a heavyset guy who likes his spac... Read more

My wife and I stayed here for two nights. Great price on the room and the hotel is right in the heart of La Jolla. Our room was clean, but much smaller than in use to. The hotel staff was very friendly and professional. There's a sun deck on the top of the hotel that has an awesome view. My wife and I went up there on a Saturday afternoon listened to our music, enjoyed some wine, played backgammon, danced and watched a perfect sunset. Plus we had it all to ourselves. I asked the front desk if ... Read more

This is an older, (they actually give you keys!) hotel right smack in the middle of la Jolla Village, with a short walking distance to the Cove. The rooms are tiny, and the whole shebang is a little tired, but they make great efforts to keep it clean and tidy. This is by no means a resort, however, having a balcony is very nice and it reduces the claustrophobic feeling of the small room. I would recommend for someone that doesn't want to spend much time in the room, and with this location, who w... Read more

If there was an option for 0 stars, I would have checked that box. I can't even tell you how horrible this hotel is. I'm not usually hard to please, but this room was filthy, with an uncomfortable bed, and perhaps the most unpleasant staff people I've ever experienced in the service industy. Checking in and out almost put me in a bad mood because they made it seem like even the simplest of tasks were "putting them out". I will never stay here again, and I strongly recommend you stay, well, anywh... Read more

Do NOT stay here! I was immensely disappointed. The rude and lazy staff wrongly advised me of something which resulted in a high fine that they did not take any responsibility for. The room was not clean! I put sheets down on the floor so I wouldn't have to walk on it because it was so dirty. There were brown stains on the sheets and the hotel wouldn't provide new ones. The bathroom and, specifically, the toilet had not been cleaned in awhile. It was disgusting. I work in the service industry a... Read more

Upon arriving on Friday night my wife and I were a little confused as where to park and the outside is not very appealing. The hotel 20min loading zone was occupied by 2 cars that did not belong to anyone at the hotel. So we had to park across the street in front of a bar. We walked over and were greeted by the girl at the front desk with a smile and checked in. When I asked about parking she said they have parking for $10 per night. Not bad considering where we were. Ask where it was she said i... Read more

Rubi, Kaylee and the entire staff were quite accommodating, and the location near the cove can't be beat. The inn has a European ambiance and rooftop with an amazing view of the ocean. You can also walk to some great shops and restaurants.

Coming from Phoenix our stay is a little hard to describe, it is one where you really need to experience yourself to believe it! For starters, La Jolla Inn is a delightfully quaint and unassuming hotel. It's a hidden gem with a location that is perfect in respect to the beach, good places to eat, and a variety of shops. The beds and pillows allow for a peaceful nights sleep. The windows open to allow for a nice breeze coming in off of the ocean! Given the location of the inn, and comfort, I... Read more

Pros: Excellent location (near beach and heart of La Jolla cove)! Reasonably priced; decent size rooms; mini-mart immediately next to the front door lobby. Cons: Poor parking; somewhat thin walls; no drinking water in room. Bottom Line: Great place to stay if you are not planning on being in your hotel room all day. I live in San Diego, and booked a room here for my sister's weekend visit. Our plan was to spend a weekend together shopping at the outlet malls, and go to the Comedy Store, wh... Read more

This is a clean, pretty, quiet and friendly place to stay. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas can be borrowed. The beach with its coves and seals are just a block away. Restaurants and cafes with good food are nearby. Only one small niggle: loose attachments e.g. hairdryer, toilet paper holder. Nonetheless, it was a refreshing, lovely stay.

Room was dated yet functional. We booked the one with a balcony and with the view of the sea. Location was perfect, walk to the Cove and restaurants. Front desk was helpful and this is the only place that still uses real keys (not card keys)

We stayed here one night before moving hotels. The room needed a major update. The AC did not work, the window fell out when we tried to open it to access the screen. The location was handy to the ocean but there was a lot I of street noise all night long. Because of an early flight we arrived early. There was no washroom to use and our luggage was tucked into a corner in the tiny lobby, which did not even have a chair to sit in, while we searched for a washroom nearby. Wi Fi was spotty and our ... Read more

We just spent two nights at this delightful bed and breakfast, but it is just too noisy! Both nights there were weddings at the women,s club's club next door. First night reception and noise continued past midnight. Also, there is not adequate parking. Breakfast, was good, but fried eggs both days was a little disappointing. Think more variety is needed! The girls working did a good job.

The room was absolutely charming, like visiting in France or Italy, with a small terrace and view to the ocean. It's located perfectly in La Jolla, within walking distance to the best shops and restaurants in the area, and La Jolla Cove is nearby, or you can walk along the park just to the west of the hotel. There's even a little shop to by necessities.

This is the best place I have stayed at in CA. The sevice and all staff are exceptionally great in handling their guests needs. I specifically appreciate the special attention by Daniel from the reception. The location is also one of a kind looking up the ocean. It is a little bet pricy but worth it. I am actually planning to stay with them next summer with my whole family. All in all good for families. Excellent.

Beautiful place to stay. We were pleasantly surprised. We had a beautiful view of the ocean. The breakfast area was well stocked and the entire place was spotless. Our room was big enough for 2 queen beds and a roll out bed. The balcony space was so relaxing. Would love to stay here again.

I work online and am on the road 80% of the time. I am very aware that I absolutely over analyse the options of places to stay when I travel. I had read a few reviews describing this hotel as dated and needing attention so we had left this as the last option , what a mistake. We arrived to a friendly and warm welcome with staff that were genuinely happy to see us. There is only one convenience store in la jolla and it also happens to be attached to this quaint hotel. At 6am I would wake to ... Read more

We're on a 2 week road trip and this is the second most expensive place we've stayed, yet the worst for service and experience. ‚?Ę No help unloading luggage or offer of taking it to our room. ‚?ʬ†Were given a key to "our room", only to open the door and find someone else in there. ‚?Ę Given a blow up bed in a bag as the 'bed' for our son, and we were expected to blow it up ourselves. The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location. We had to pay $20.00 per day to park two blocks from the hotel. The rooms are very small and dated. The first night our air conditioning did not work. We raised the issue to the staff and they offered us another room. Picked up and moved our belongings the the new room. Phone was just lying on the floor and was not hooked up. The loss to the sliding door to the small balcony was broken (same as first room). Woke up on our last ... Read more

Where do I start? It is an absolute ghetto motel. The a/c didn't work, it was insanely loud with street noise- of course you couldn't close the windows because it was sweltering. The neighbors were doing drugs. The Internet didn't work AT ALL. There was excrement on the toilet that I had to clean myself in order to use it. My favorite part was that there were bars on SOME of the windows. Some- not all. If the neighborhood is bad enough to warrant bars on the window (and it is) then can I have th... Read more

I booked blind on Priceline (which I will not do again) for a 3 star hotel in La Jolla. I arrived at the hotel (conveniently located, for sure) and when I arrived, I was told by the woman a the desk that I had the "most basic" room and would I like to upgrade to a bigger room with an ocean view for $50. I refused, as I was only staying one night and would not be there very much. All was fine until I went upstairs and went into the room. Room 23, btw. Immediately greeted with a dark room, ...
