"The room looked exactly like the pic. The BED WAS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE!!!!!! It sagged, my husband and I did not sleep well, our back were killing us in the morning. The hotel would do themselves a great service by replacing the mattresses with a serta posturpedic quality type. We will never return, the point was to relax, not wake up exhausted. The bathtub drain was sluggish, and the narrow steep metal stairs to the breakfast deck would be hard for an older person with knee or leg problems. The continental breakfast was run of the mill , you have to get your own coffee and bring it back to your room or lug it up the narrow steps to the deck with out burning your hand because the heat goes through the paper cups. If you want your bagel toasted, you have to go to the library area and pop it in the toaster. Very inconvienent. What is the point of having your breakfast brought to your room if you have to go out to get the coffee or toasted bagel??? Plus side: It was nice to sit out on our balcony and sip wine and watch the sunset, or walk up to the deck and see the sunset. Parking in the village is a nightmare, so having a parking garage that you pay $5/day was convienent, but unload your stuff, before you walk the two blocks to park the car. The map is confusing telling you where the parking garage is, just turn left off of Fay Ave. and it is the first public parking garage you can pull into on the left. You wave the card (the front desk gives you ) infront of the gate aparatus and the gate lifts up. We came and went several times. If you have a large car, parking is very tight, the spaces are very Narrow. The Crab Catcher has excellent happy hour menu from 3-7PM. Loved the calamari and crab Bisque!!!!!! We brought our own sandwitches and snacks/wine in a ice-chest to take to the beach. The hotel said they have beach chairs to loan, but we had brought our own.
OVERALL PICTURE: If you can sleep anywhere, this place is for you because it is within easy walking distance to much of village/beach. (as long as you can walk steep hills) Don't expect a nice breakfast. The cookies and tea/lemonade are nice, but it would be nice to have a variety of cookies from day to day. "

"The centrally-located La Jolla Inn is just a block from a coast side park, and a dozen restaurants were within three blocks of the hotel. The view from the outdoor patio is fabulous. Although the room was somewhat small, it was well appointed, and I enjoyed the small balcony with an ocean view (which was worth the extra few dollars). Little amenities like a glass pitcher and glass glassses, free Internet, readily available coffee, tea, lemonade and cookies, and cable TV with over 70 channels, were appreciated. The two people I encountered at the front desk were flexible and accommodating, and gave a superb recommendation for a great breakfast eatery. The hotel will bring a continental breakfast to your door or to the upstairs patio. Given the pricey nature of nearby hotels, the La Jolla Inn is an excellent deal, and I would consider staying there again."

"The best thing about this hotel is the location right in the heart of La Jolla and about a block distance from the ocean and some nice little beaches.

Considering how small our room was the price is high, but that is the case for any hotel in la jolla so close to the ocean. The hotel was clean enough, but the room really is small maybe 13 ft by 13. The breakfast which they bring to your rm is a nice touch, but you are talking banana, cold cereal, muffin. After checking out other hotels while in the La jolla area it was apparent that for a bit more you can stay in a really nice place and we will likely stay at one of them next time. Staff were helpful but one of the girls was not particuarly friendly at all. I think we are being more than fair by giving this place an overall 3.5 stars thanks to the location.."

"Location is wonderful, close to the beach, shopping & restaurants. Our room was charming, the staff was excellent, nice continental breakfast delivered to the room within 10-15 minutes after we called for it each morning. Off-site parking was a good value. Would absolutely return!"
