I'm in my fourth day of a eight day stay and wanted to comment while it is fresh on my mind. This Hilton property is in need of a massive update. I'm surprised that Hilton would allow such a prestigious property to be so outdated. Everything from the carpet to pool area needs refurbishing. It just looks stale dated. TV is acting up. There is no water pressure when showering. The pool towels are faded and stained. Come on Hilton! You can do better than this. Get your act together. PS ... Read more

Weekend trip, played golf at Torrey Pines and I stayed in a Terrace suite with golf course view. The suite was wonderful and the view was spectacular and the price was incredible for a weekend rate. I am loyal to Hilton for this reason. The staff was good and the small complaint was no in room coffee and tea. There was a charge for everything ($14 for a pot of coffee). Other than that, great trip.

There was an additional $22 per night tacked on to the published room rate per night! These additional fees were mandatory and unpublished---hidden fees. In addition the "continental" breakfast buffet does not include pastry... watch carefully or you may be charged for a full buffet without any hot items at all. This is one sneaky hotel!

I was extremely disappointed to find out there were no vegetarian entrees at all. I asked about this and was told "it comes up from time to time in meetings but the chef does not want to compromise on quality". I was also told that I could have a vegetarian pizza in the evening, but only with room service (which costs a fortune for a 2 minute walk to the room) but not in the restaurant as it wasn't appropriate. 2 salads or one soup should not be my only choices! The bed was not very comfortab... Read more

This is a Hilton hotel, not a Conrad, just a regular Hilton. I have stayed here regularly over the past 10 years, and this hotel is changing and not for the better. 1. They have instituted a new resort fee of $22 a day! 2. Their breakfasts are no longer free -- a continental buffet is free, but if you want something hot, it costs you $5.40 even if you are a diamond member 3. Their front desk has gotten quite snooty 4. Valet service has gone downhill My recent stay started with a very arrog... Read more

We have stayed at several hotels in San Diego and this facility ranks as one of the best we have enjoyed. It is located next to Torrey Pines and offers some great views. Additionally it is close to several attractions. As for the hotel the service was excellent and the staff members we encountered were helpful and friendly. The food and beverages were a little pricey but the location offsets the cost a bit. We did not use the pool but it looked okay. I did not see a bar service around the pool. ... Read more

What can I say... It's the Hilton! That being said, who charges 29 dollars a night to park your car (not valet)? I know this is a destination for those on business and my wife was but you should check all the fine print before you book a stay. The staff was very nice though my wife did have to chew out some patrons in the lobby who were allowing their kids to run amok at 10:15 PM while we were trying to sleep. The staff did not try to constrain them. Don't mess with her when she's trying to slee... Read more

We recently stayed at the Hilton Torrey Pines hotel for a beautiful wedding. The setting and views are superb. The staff was great, if not awesome. Some of the best customer service I've experienced. The Hotel was very nice, however the restaurant and food however was terrible in comparison. Very sub-standard. We regret to have found the Lodge next door on the last day. We arrived on a Monday planning to enjoy an evening swim and dinner by the pool. But my three kids and I arrived at the quiet pool and the 4 adults there promptly left. We ate many meals here during the stay and all the food was so fresh and healthily. The staff was exceptional, in particular Diane from Banquets! Direct access to the ocean is a definite plus. Property is well kept considering the age of this location. Housekeeping however, left a bad taste in my mouth. Trash from prior guest and hair left in the bathtub were a turnoff. Might try it again as I'm in the area quite often. However, it is a very competitive market, so might be a last resort.

This is a very nice Hilton resort property located directly at the Torrey Pines golf course. The pricey rate isn't commensurate with the hotel property and experience. The check-in agent wasn't very friendly and did not know of my e-standby upgrade request as a Hilton Honors guest. She was flustered when I brought it up. Of course, I didn't get it---she said the hotel was fully booked. And when I asked about how long to get to La Jolla Cove by car, she didn't seem to know. This is a nice hotel in La Jolla. However I much prefer The Lodge next door to this hotel. The rooms are probably a bit nicer at the Hilton, although a bit dated. However, The Lodge setting is much nicer with the outdoor eating areas. You feel like you are more in a nature setting. Having said that, the Hilton has great service. Nothing to complain about just not as special as the town it is in.

I came for business and brought my family for the weekend. This hotel is artificially priced lower than its neighbors. You will pay a $20/night resort fee that gives you nothing any other hotel wouldn't give you for free plus the discounted opportunity to spend more money at the golf course or gift shop, etc. That would make sense if it was anything you were interested in and choosing to do, but it's mandatory. Three of the people I was with and myself ha da horrible time sleeping on the rock hard beds. But the rest of the hotel experience was very good. I hope they fix the bed problem.

You can easily drive right past this sprawling hotel, it disappears behind shrubbery. It's perfect for golfers or a convention, but we were surprised by the Resort Fee and Parking Fee on TOP of that. When we booked the hotel to attend a nearby wedding, the room rate was perfectly reasonable. The extra fees caught us off guard and made the overall price of the room as high, if not higher than nearby competitors. Perhaps, if like the airline fees, hotels were required to post the room rate inclusi... Read more

Our room was spacious and comfortable. It was absolutely quiet, so perfect for a good night sleep. The house keeping respects your privacy and cone back when you've finally left the room. The pool area is very nice-with a salt water big pool and a regular hot tub on the side. They have special beach towels at the pool, so no need to worry about that. They also have a restaurant that is very good but very expensive. We basically paid 60 euros/2 people for breakfast. And the other comments are ... Read more

We have been going to Torrey Pines for over 20 years. A few years ago I was afraid it was getting "tired". It has had a nice upgrade and is clean quiet and a great location. It is always nice to be greeted by Gary at the Bell desk. He is a fixture of the property. He is always kind and welcoming as is everyone. The bedding is great, showers are hot and flow well. The rooms are quiet. We will keep coming back. The valets are terrific with their enthusiasm to get your car. They work hard... Read more

Stayed at the Torrey Pines Hilton to attend a family wedding! Great experience...comfortable room, good bed, clean, and quiet. Had breakfast and enjoyed the selections from the buffet. The staff was friendly and helpful.

the grounds are beautiful rooms are clean with reasonable amenities. food is overpriced $50 for breakfast for one. Also my credit card information was stolen by someone calling my room and insisting on reconfirming my credit care information. they never could explain why and I should have been suspicious because there were multiple subsequent fraudulent charges. I asked to talk to the manager but was told he was unavailable and never got a call back.

This is was my second time staying at this location, my first time there I was very impressive, they put me in renovated room and Loved it. I booked straight through Hiton, but the extra fees were outrages. So my next visit this past weekend I booked with Priceline and I guess they put me in an older room. Not as nice as my first one, lots of hair in the bathroom and shower. I was so grossed out. Lucky for me, I was there for one night and left. I was to tired to complain, but I'm sure they wo... After reading the reviews I was a bit wary. The room I stayed in (and it appeared the entire wing) was recently renovated right on to Hilton brand standards. One of the nicer Hilton rooms I've stayed in with a cute balcony. Plenty of wifi. Very nice shower with the horizontal floor drain that I've only seen in Hiltons (though could use a better shower head). Staff was pretty friendly -- after I hung up during a delayed transfer to the front desk I got a call back 30 secs later that it looked... Read more

While the rates may seem reasonable, they tack on ridiculous fees. We weren't informed of the 29/day parking fee until it showed up on my credit card the week after. The room, and staff seemed friendly enough and if it weren't for a 25% rate hike with parking fees included my review might have been very different. Just beware and find somewhere else, anywhere else to park your car, and be vigilant for more scummy ridiculous fees.

I stayed at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines for 5 nights. The front desk people were great and very helpful. The wait staff at the restaurant was very slow and not attentive. This was probably one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in regarding housekeeping. Horrible. First day I checked in, you could tell that the floor wasn't vacuumed before I began my stay. Then a lightbulb was out in the main floor lamp-this was the first night. Not the worst, but it was almost like everyday there... Read more

When booking this hotel, factor in additional parking rate and resort fee. Beautiful area. Not much to do in immediate vicinity expect for the torrey pines reserve. Food, must drive out to other areas.

My stay here was great, not because of the amenities, i think some can be better. In hotel gym was dissapointing. However the customer service from all the staff was amazing and great. I felt at home away from home .

Needed to a staycation before the craziness of the holidays with our family. This is a great place to do that. Great location for a relaxing getaway. Staff was friendly and quick to respond to my inquiries. It was the day before thanksgiving when we stayed but even it being busy, it didn't feel like you were rushed anywhere.

I love the location above the ocean and along the golf course. It is very quiet. The heated pool is huge. Stay here to getaway and relax. Try to pick a room on a higher floor to get a view. The digital key option from your phone makes check-in a breeze.

Very nice hotel. Liked the self park, view, area. Some minor issues, not great views from 2nd floor: trees in front of balcony. Most all have balcony/desk but not all as their website says. Very long walk to beach, also i can unsee what i saw on Black's beach, haha. But really, its very nice, clean etc

Great value for a beautiful property. Valet parking is too pricey. Food is great and room service is very efficient. The grounds are beautiful and a had a view of the ocean which is so important to me.
