"This motel looks nice but the area isn't great. In a Thai area of town. There is a grocery store across the street in a small mall, which is hidden by another building. This was handy and a great find.

On the weekend we found out the hard way that they have people that party. We got woken up at 2:30 am by people slamming room doors and could hear loud footsteps upstairs as we were on the ground floor.

Room is a great size but the linens had stains and the floors were very dirty. They had laminate floors which was nice but were in desperate need of washing. We dropped a wet towel on the floor and it came up very brown.

Pool is not heated but is nice. Staff is very friendly but some new staff need to be trained better. They tried to bill us twice for our stay. A more experience employee caught the mistake and was in the processing of correcting when we went back to the office to verify.

"This hotel needs alot of tender loving care. Room size was great - room cleaniness needs alot to desire. Floors were a mess - never saw a mop for months! Bathroom fixtures need a face lift. Location is scary as all the windows and doors in the neighborhood had bars on them - what type of neighbour was this!! Bonus for location - grocery store is just across the street - if only I knew Ralph's was a grocery store LOL found this out by chance!"

"We enjoyed our stay at the Dixie. At first I was skeptical because it was not a hotel, but a motel. As the days passed I realized the convenience of the free parking, no elevators and accessibility to many amenities nearby. The staff was friendly and accommodating. There is still much work to be done on the renovation of the facility, but their efforts are certainly well -intentioned. The towels and toilet paper are poor quality which detracts from the overall experience. The bed and linens, however were wonderful! The upstairs guests are a noise factor as we were on the first floor. Overall we would stay there again based on the proximity to our family there, the convenience of shopping, restaurants and sites."

"We booked a 6 nights stay at this Hotel. According to the package that we got, we will get a FREE DAILY BREAKFAST but unfortunately when we checked in, and ask the receptionist they told us that they DO NOT offer free breakfast to guests. They only have coffee in the office. "

"When I first saw the picture of the building I thought it was a hotel when I booked it on the Internet. When arriving I was surprised to see it was a motel. I was a little surprised but then I found the staff very friendly as well as very accomodating. We were happy to see we could find a spot to park very close to our room. The TV screen was wonderful and I sure enjoyed watching the Ten Commandments on it. They are still working on the remodeling but have no doubts that by the next chance to be in Hollywood all will be done and ready to please anyone who might want to stay in a place so close to all the activity. I recommend you give it a try. Wish I could tell you the name of the Mexican restaurant on Hollywood Blvd.going toward the Grahamn Chinese Theatre on the right side, but don't remember. It's an open front with with tables and bar stools and has wonderful food. It caught my eye as I was driiving and turned the corner and was lucky enough to have a parking lot in the back of it that was wide open. Waitress extremely friendly, TV's available to watch in any direction. A wonderful young many standing encouraging people to come in the restaurant but wasn't at all pushy. My son loved the taquitos and I loved the tosada salad with black beans and plenty of aovocado, etc.etc.."

"One of the staff members was very helpful and friendly, the others..not so much. I found the location to be adequate w/close access to the metro station. Not easy walking distance to attractions, but could be done. The room was large and the bed was comfortable. Fridge didn't work and there were tiny ants everywhere, lots of dust also."

"Terrible location (across the street is a Starbucks but there was a Food for Less behind the hotel), close to a subway station where the cops make many arrests. Dirty room, spotted a bug in the bed, tv wasn't clear, heard the family in the room next door like they were in my room. Staff was friendly but busy so service was slow. "

"Complained the first night that we had ants in the bathroom and nothing was done. By the next night they were in our bed and all over the headboards. The hardwood floors looked liked they have never been moped. Took shoes off and our feet turned black like we have been walking on fresh poured ashpalt."
