I was lucky enough to spend the weekend here with a friend. The rooms are big with a sofa and sink/hot top aka hob. They all had balconies with chairs. It is right on the beach, and the breakfast room includes outside seating. The service was very good across the board. The rooms to a high standard. No complaints at all. There are many restaurants and boutiques nearby. Overall a lovely setting.

Groovy place. Very nice staff. Great unique rooms. Love it. Fireplace, small complete kitchen. Close to many restaurants. Cam walk strand to Manhattan beach. Watch volleyball. SoCal at its best. Close to Redondo beach and King Harbor. Ride bikes to Venice beach.

If you are staying in South Bay, this is the place to stay. It is beautiful, the rooms, the views and the beach are all wonderful. Jerry, the owner, really outdoes himself keeping this hotel continuously amazing. Also, the staff is some of the friendliest in the world. I've stayed a lot of places but this is my favorite staff in the world. The valet guys, the front desk staff, and the housekeepers are so welcoming and kind. Thank you for many great stays!!

It's hard to find an ocean front hotel in Hermosa, they just don't exist. You pay for the pleasure of that here, but it's worth it. Sits right on the Strand, a block from the Pier. Walkable to Starbucks, pizza, restaurants, night life. Room hints: don't go first floor, as there's only a short wall that divides your patio from the sidewalk. If you want a great ocean view at a lesser than ocean-front price, ask for a room in the front building (on the Strand), on the north side. Those rooms overl... Read more

Wow ! I loved this place. I was en-route from Australia to New York and had one meeting in LA. The client recommend this place and what a treat. I was an early arrival and the room was ready, the room was stunning, how I'd have my home. Close to airport, right on the beach perfect .

This is a stunning hotel right on the beach. We had an ocean front suite. Large suites, Very well equipped, felt like home. It's pricey, but everything decent is in Hermosa/Manhattan beach is! It's steps away from the madness of Hermosa strip and about a 30mins walk along the boulevard to Manhattan beach which is another favourite of ours. The hottub/spa area needs a serious update though, I didn't even go in it, it just looked not nice or clean. But that was the only downside. There is reasonab... Read more

I love staying at the Beach House Hotel. This is my third stay and each time I remember why l enjoy it so much. Each time I've been lucky to get an ocean front room. I have sat on the balcony for hours at a time reading, sipping a drink or simply staring off into the distance. It's also loads of fun to people watch as The Strand is pushed up against the back of the hotel. Lots of families, couples, runners, bikers, dog walkers, skate boarders and amblers go by. Had a nice room with a great view. The room was large and comfortable. Valet parking was quick. No bar or restaurant inside hotel but many very near the door. Actually right outside of it. I would say this is the best hotel in area for beach play right outside the door.

I fell in love with Hermosa Beach; the Beach House had a lot to do with it. The ocean view, the friendly staff, the spacious room, and the convenience to everything in Hermosa Beach all contributed. I love that you can get a bucket of local craft beers to take out onto your ocean view pseudo-patio. I love that you're smack dab between Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach... you've got some pretty great running options as a result. And I LOVE that there are so many great places to eat within a fiv... Read more

This is a great hotel, well kept, probably because each unit is individually owned like a condo. I agree with all of the other reviews about the location and staff ect. so here are a few helpful hints to enjoy your stay here. All of the rooms are exactly the same with a living room area and a raised bedroom area. This is great for a couple or friends who do not need the privacy of a separate bedroom. If you are traveling with children and want some privacy I would recommend that you request ... Read more

The Beach House is excellent if you are in the front building on the Ocean. Wonderful views and great breezes. But if you get the back building, you pay nearly as much and get a 'ha-ha' room with views of the municipal parking garage. Horrible for the money. So ask before you arrive or you get a story at the desk and a poor room.

If it's family or just the two of you this hotel will accommodate. It literally is on the strand but it's quiet if you stay in the back building. You don't really need to pay for an ocean view room as that can be noisy and not private. It just steps away from the beach anyway. They can provide beach chairs and good towels and even some toys to take down to the water for the day. Easy valet parking and very friendly. I don't like the 4pm check in time since you pay for a day you should get a goo... Read more

We stayed at the Beach House twice during the holidays. The first time we had a "side ocean room" the second time we had an "ocean front" room. Although the ocean view is incredible, it can get quite busy (read: LOUD) especially on the weekends with volleyball players etc. We preferred the "side ocean view" as we still got a beautiful view with more peace and quiet. The location of the hotel is perfect and the has the best cookies and cider in the lobby (in December at least!). The rooms are s... Read more

Keep coming back to this place every time we come to LA. Won't stay anywhere else!! It's such a beautiful hotel. We love the room and the location is the best, on the beach, many good restaurants close by. Nice breakfast in the morning as well. I always recommend this place but it seems harder to reserve a room now! Maybe I should stop recommending this hotel!

If you can get a beachfront room, i highly recommend it. There is nothing quite like watching the sunset from bed. There is a little bit of noise from the Strand throughout the night, but nothing that will disturb you sleep. Especially as it all adds to the vibe of the place. There is no set room service, but a myriad of resturants are within walking distance. The staff are fairly helpful, but no one seemed to go out of their way to help us when asked. Our family traveled from Connecticut to Hermosa Beach in late June of this year. We were looking for a hotel that was reasonably priced and right on the beach. We were a bit nervous coming so far not knowing what the hotel was like. Imagine our surprise when we arrived and saw the Beach House. Travelling with our teenage children I was worried that the pull out sofa bed would not be comfortable. Both my kids said that it was quite comfortable and they got a good night sleep all four nights. ... Read more

Escaped the heat in AZ to a wonderful Beach House in Hermosa. Absolutely everything was exceptional. Fresh lemon water in the lobby. Brunch from 6:30 to 11:00 everyday with a full time attendant replenishing constantly. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Our room looked out over the Strand and onto the beach where we watched the volleyball games as well as the ocean waves and sunset. Speedy valet service. I highly recommend the Beach House.

This hotel is fantastic. I have stayed there several times. The rooms are light and airy. A nice desk area to work at and a great kitchen area. The best part is the view if you have a beachfront room. Non beachfront rooms are fine, however I recommend not staying on the first floor unless it is beachfront. I don't like the foot traffic. Walking distance to restaurants and bars. My favorite thing to do is rent a bike ( 1/2 block away ) and ride along the beach for miles!

Modest room with a wonderful location. Designed in a tasteful nautical way. Right on the beach and could be worth the upgrade to a room with a view on the strand (but could also be noisy). Our room opened up to the side street with cars right outside and a very limited beach view. No restaurant or bar but a great breakfast spot outside with an average hotel breakfast. Overall, still probably one of your best choices in Hermosa for beach and bikes.

We will definitely go back to THE BEACH HOUSE. It is great place to even sit back and watch people go by while you are watching the sea. The staff were so helpful and professional but still gave you that laid back feeling. The room was like a little studio, clean and neat. The hotel is in a area that is very walkable to shoppes and restaurants.

Great beach front location in Hermosa Beach. Came here for a volleyball tournament and this was the best place, everyone on our team ended up hanging out here. The rooms are well appointed and have cooking facilities if you choose to use them. Bed is comfortable and decor simple and very pleasant. But in reality you pay for the view. Partial view of ocean probably isn't worth the premium you pay of this hotel so only go for ocean view if you want value for money is my advice. As you are literally right on the beach ground floor isn't to private and you may find that a bit much when revellers are coming home from the nearby strip. Either way you ha... Read more

We are local to the South Bay, but sometimes you just need to get away and enjoy a little staycation. We stay here a couple years ago and were blown away by our stay. The staff was super friendly and the rooms were nice, but still "beachy." We visited again last month and our stay exceeded our expectations. Both times we've stayed in the partial ocean view rooms - it's a pretty small hotel so there really isn't a bad room in the entire place. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon, enjoyed dinner ... Probably a 3.5 star stay for me. Great location and room was comfortable but left a little disappointed overall. For almost $400 a night, expected a little more I guess. It's right on the Strand and steps away from the sand so location is the biggest selling point here. Every room is like a "suite" and you'll enjoy spacious living spaces complete with a fireplace.
