For over a year now, I've stayed at this property for all my trips down to Orange County. It's become my home away from home. The hotel is immaculately cleaned, the staff are amazing, and the rooms are comfortable from every aspect. John Matthews is an amazing General Manager, whose hard work and dedication to excellence is felt throughout every step through the Ayres in Fountain Valley. My only complaint is with the lack of variety offered at the in-house restaurant (Fusion Bites), it's very li... Read more

The hotel is brand new. Beautiful decor, comfortable rooms, friend'y staff! The pool isn't too big but big enough for the kids to have fun. We also like that the hotel was so close to the freeway. Lastly, they have electric vehicle parking and charging stations.

Great hotel and staff. Everyone from the front desk to the housekeeping team was extraordinarily kind. Hotel is centrally located with lots of food and entertainment choices nearby. Pool is just ok but I enjoyed the sitting area that was separate from the pool. Breakfast was just ok - comparable to most hotel breakfasts. My only complaint/recommendation would be to stay on the top floor. I stayed on the 3rd and could hear every step they took. My stay lasted for 16 days so there were sev... Read more

We stayed here for a baseball tournament, so 10-11 year olds and their families. The kids had fun in the pool and the rooms were spacious for our family of 4. The bathroom doors are weird to open if someone is brushing their teeth and someone else is coming out of the bathroom it is a tight maneuver. The rooms had a mini refrigerator and microwave so that was nice. The staff was super friendly and helpful and breakfast was good for a free hotel breakfast. They did not rotate the menu betwee... My wife and I stayed at this property while attending a wedding. I was surprised by how well the hotel is appointed: crown molding throughout the roomy hallways and guest rooms, lots of light, tasteful art everywhere. The linens are superb and the furniture is quite beautiful. Our room was spacious with a sitting area, king size bed, good size closet. The hot breakfast is quite tasty--lots of choices and freshly prepared.

Not my favorite Ayres Hotel. Prefer Seal Beach location, or Anaheim if necessary, but they were booked at Seal Beach and the Anaheim location turned out to also be booked this past weekend; so we were stuck with HB/Fountain Valley. Normally we would get a "check-in email" the day before arrival, never happened. So I had to call that morning & make sure they knew we were going to be a VERY late arrival. At that time, they confirmed our standing special requests for extra pillows & towels.... Read more

I tend to leave negative reviews after a bad stay, but after repeated stays at this hotel, I have to say that it is reliably clean and the people that run it, very warm and professional. I've stayed at this Ayres maybe 10 different times already. The rooms are spacious, clean and it has a decent breakfast (included!) I usually go there for business and sometimes I will even stay there even though I may even have business clear out in Santa Monica. The rates are more than fair and like I say,... Read more

Our room was very spacious, comfortable and quiet, even though close to the elevator. Everything was very clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom had a really large tub/shower stall, which was quite surprising and inviting after a long day. The bed was very comfortable. The view was entirely of the roof about 3 feet away, but as we weren't really in the room for much of the day, it wasn't really a problem. Front desk staff was great. Very enjoyable stay.

The overall facility was nice and the room suited the price but that pool is just way too small for such a hotel size. There seemed to be too many people yet there were only 20-30. There was only room for a few people to sit and have shade of some kind. There were at least 3-4 families complaining about it.

I guess I was expecting a little more from this hotel. Don't get me wrong, it's nice but a little less than expected for the price. The hotel has a nicely furnished lobby. The pool is small and didn't have enough lounge chairs, so I ended up sitting in a regular chair while my son swam. The room was adequate - nice bed, sofa, TV, and larger than usual fridge. The complimentary breakfast was disappointing - pretty much the same fare you'd get at a Hampton Inn or similar.

I was in town for a business conference and was able to stay here. The hotel was clean and the lobby was very inviting. My room was spacious and clean with a huge bathroom- and I only stayed in a standard suite! I also had very tender beef skewers and drinks in the hotel lounge and enjoyed them both as well - great service and very attentive staff.

First time staying at this location. Very quick check in process, very friendly staff, very nice lobby and great location right off the 405. There is plenty of restaurants to choice just up and over the freeway. The rooms were nice and spacious. Large bathroom with a large tub. Very pleased with the stay and I'd recommend this location to anyone.

My sister and I stayed here while in Fountain Valley for a family function. We had separate adjoining rooms. The front desk staff was very friendly upon check-in and issued each of us 2 key cards - one to unlock the door to the room and one that is inserted into a box inside the room which controls the electricity. There were 2 Queen beds in each room, and the beds were very comfortable. Nice big shower/rub and bathroom with separate vanity area. One evening we were headed out on foot to a r... Read more

We couldn't have picked a better place to stay at. We stayed for four nights. The room was incredibly clean and quite relaxing. They offer free breakfast, parking and wi-fi. Stay at this hotel every month. Has the and most accommodating and friendliest staff, cleanest rooms, great location, and complimentary breakfast. I want to thank John Matthew's for taking some extra time during my last visit. He was able to get my reward points all squared away and get me set up in they correct booing site. I am also Military and they have a rate that I was unaware of. So thank you John !!! Have already book for my next stay in December. See you all soon !! Ann

Booked this hotel through Hotwire and was expecting to be assigned to "that room" next to the ice machines and other sources of noise. Instead, I got a quiet, top-floor room at the end of the hall. Very nicely appointed and updated in a "classic" style (dark woods, pleather sofa, Queen-Anne-style desk/tables). Very quiet. Friendly and helpful front-desk staff. Breakfast was above average (eggs, sausage, hash-browns, waffles, oatmeal, yogurts, bagels, pastries...) Couldn't really ask for an... Read more

The Ayres staff were very pleasant during our stay. The hotel itself was updated/modern, very clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is located near a major freeway, but you do not hear any road noise. The free parking, Wi-Fi, and breakfast was an added bonus. Would definitely stay there again.

I stayed here on a business trip. The atmosphere and the rooms are great - and especially for the price! Definitely my first choice when staying in the LA area. This hotel seemed to be either new or newly renovated, so it was very inviting. Spacious and welcoming.

I was in town for a fews on business and had a horrible experience at the first hotel I was assigned to The Residence Inn. Fortunately I was able to call Ayres and book a room for the duration of my stay. Staff is extremely helpful and attentive. The rooms were comfortable and I am absolutely thankful to the hotel and staff!!
