On the way to Frisco we stopped over for one night at the Holiday Inn Express in Fort Bragg. Hotel is located on the south end of Fort Bragg some minutes away from US1 on Highway 20. Room was clean and furnished as expected. Hotel seemed to be quite new or at least renovated. Wifi in the room was available for free. Hotel offers an small indoor pool also, but we did not use it. Continental breakfast is offered by hotel, but nothing special. Staff was friendly and attentive. All over price-perfor... Read more

We had planned to stay in Mendocino, but when we got there (never been before) it was fairly booked up, expensive, and not what we expected, so we opted for the dependability of Holiday Inn...and we weren't disappointed. Got a nice, affordable, clean and modern room with a good TV and wifi. After driving Highway 1 all day that was a dream. Got food in and relaxed in a comfortable bed with the remote. May not sound exciting right now, but it was sure great at the time. Nice staff too. Would... Read more

I was driving from highway 20, so good for me to stop and rest after crazy drive from highway 20. Friendly staff, nice and clean bed. Just like their chain hotel, good breakfast buffet, lots of parking, free wifi. And they have indoor pool. Can't ask for more. Their price range was great.

We had a one night stay in this conveniently located hotel at the entrance of Ft. Bragg. Some of the rooms have an ocean view, yet the hotel is not oceanfront. The rooms were very clean and neat and comfortable. They had coffee makers and fridges in the rooms. They have a complementary breakfast in the am with cereal and prepared foods (biscuits and gravy for those of you who can afford the calories). Many of the overnighters were business folk. Nice hotel for what we wanted which was just an o... Read more

Located in the Fort Bragg Mendocino area off the highway one. This Holiday Inn Express is cozy. There are some pet rooms here to which are reasonable rated for one to book. For being a pet friendly hotel, there wasn't much pet relief areas. We were greeted by the friendly staff and checked in on a rainy day is an efficient manner. Hotel grounds are spread out. Stayed for two nights. Room is comfortable for the double queens (mountain view- only pet rooms available). Looking around the prop... Read more

This is a nice hotel off the main road so very quiet. The room was really lovely with the backdrop of pretty greenery. The only issue was the air con which was turned off but started dripping loudly at 1am till about 5am. Other than that a nice stay but expensive for memorial weekend which is understandable.

We just got back from a lovely stay here. The rooms are a good size, and lighter and brighter than you would expect from a budget hotel. The bathroom was a nice size. I didn't make it to breakfast, but my friend said it was typical - yogurt, cereal, etc. Beds were comfortable. They even put a list of dog-friendly activities and a poop bag in the dog-friendly rooms, which I thought was a nice touch.

I know what you're thinking, "Ew! But it's a Holiday Inn!". NO, you're wrong! It's a Holiday Inn... Express. The "Express" stands for Classy. We had left San Francisco on a Sunday afternoon, headed north towards Portland, Oregon. It was dark, and the road was lonesome. We encountered a surprised deer, some foxes (the animal kind, not the attractive people kind) and a potential murderer waving us down from his parked car on the side of the road in the dead of night. Between the two of us (total... Read more

Good location, clean property. Not conducive to business travel. Wi-Fi essentially non- existent with the exception of the lobby area. 1st room wasn't able to connect. Second room was able to connect but signal strength was so poor it may as well have been non-functional.

The good - room 209 was very clean, comfortable beds, and quiet even with the aircon off and the windows open. Good bathroom. Room had fridge, microwave and coffee machine. Breakfast - excellent, great choice, all fresh and continualy restocked. The not so good - the pillows were marked "soft"and "firm" but they were all the same. Blackout curtains didn' t close/meet - solved problem but using 2 clothes hangers (the sort with skirt clips). Safety issues - 1) The windows in the bedroom opened... Read more

This hotel was very comfortable, clean and quiet. It is off the main street in Fort Bragg so no road noise. At check in I failed to look at cost of room and we paid $20 more per night than originally quoted when reserved. Room are nicely supplied with refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. We had a view of the trees. It was nice to be able to open the windows instead of using the air conditioner. Breakfast was sufficient with the usual choices for the included breakfast in cost of room.

Different style, fairly nice but do not pay more for a room with a view! Seriously, when booking online which most people do nowadays, it states that there are breathtaking views of Hare Creek. I didn't expect views of the ocean for this hotel is not on the beach but I thout it would be nice to have a view of the creek since I couldn't have the ocean. Well our view is of trees!! Very healthy bushy trees!! I even walked up to the third floor and looked out the windows and still could only see tr... Read more

The room was spacious and very comfortable. If you book a room on the back side of the hotel, you will get an outstanding view and a balcony. I would recommend staying on the third floor. Our room had a microwave, frig and coffee maker - perfect. The room was clean and very well maintained. The front desk was really OUTSTANDING - she couldn't have been more friendly, professional and helpful. Would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it.

This place was better than we expected and near by the ocean, gas stations, local grocery stores and Starbucks! The nice thing was we didn't have to go far to get a decent breakfast as they provided one each morning. Cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, pancakes, sausage, toast, bananas and apples. Coffee, milk, and different types of juice. The rooms seemed pretty clean and updated but nothing over the top. I'd stay here again. The kids liked the indoor pool and spa which we visited every night be... Read more

The breakfast was good, and the staff friendly. The room was a little run down and the carpet had stains and minor tears. But the reason I'm giving it a terrible review was that I had a confirmed price for a room and they charge 30 dollars a night more than my confirmed price. They never notified me that there would be a price increase and I only noticed it on my credit card bill.

My family's experience was exceptional. This goes well beyond the things we always get from HIE - clean rooms, great facilities, breakfast, and so on. Our original reservation was only for the first two nights, and we made that reservation directly with IHG. When our plans changed a week before our arrival, I called the Front Desk twice - S answered all of our questions about room availability and pricing, and A assisted us with adding the third night. They both made such an impression over... Read more

The room looked like it had been made up as if the last guest was returning. A used soap left on the bathroom counter, a penny and some junk mail left on the bed. The whole hotel smells like a mix of fresh paint and B.O. The WiFi only barely worked, it was actually faster to not use the WiFi. My wife's phone wouldn't even connect to it.

This hotel was nice and quiet despite being full. The rooms were clean and reason a bally up to date considering the place looks older. Breakfast was the usual fare for continental, but it was gods and the hostess kept things full. Our room was a king balcony suite, which was convenient to the breakfast area and entrance but probably not worth an upgrade cost. It was free upgrade for me so price wasn't an issue. Only drawback is that the hotel is on the far south end of town so most things are a... Read more

This appeared to be an older hotel that has been nicely updated. We were greeted warmly at check-in, and the staff were very helpful when I requested a different room with a quieter location away from the elevator. The room we were given had a balcony with a pretty view of canyon plus a peek-a-boo ocean view. The room was comfortable and we had a good night's sleep and a tasty breakfast in the morning. We were very satisfied and would stay here again.

Nicely updated, fairly quiet regarding outside noise as it is off the Main Street. Though the view is nice, I don't recommend paying extra for it, as it implies it's a creek view. We could only see trees. The trees are lovely, but not worthy of an extra fee. The bed was good for what we paid for: a holiday inn. The thing is, you can tell this is an old building as every time someone walks across the floor, you can feel the floor shake, even sitting in the bed. Not much the hotel can do about thi... It could be the location, but $200 for a well-furnished and comfortable, but not exceptional, room seemed a bit on the high side. We've had comparable rooms (2 queen-sized beds) in mid-range national chain hotels for less. True, our room here overlooked a small natural area, which was also conveniently available for taking a short walk or walking a pet. We appreciated the woodsy architectural and design touches -- dark colors and stonework -- that blended nicely with the local environment and ma... Read more

We stayed here on a pleasure trip driving throughout the west, so we're staying in quite a few different hotels. Plusses: The people were very nice and helpful with directions to a great eatery and help trying to get on the wifi. My friends and I really enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Express. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They even brought us a fan upon request. The family went to Fort Brag to see Highway One, Glass Beach, and view properties around the 4th of July. The rooms were nice. The staff was friendly. It wasn't as clean as the others i have stayed in and the front desk attendant was not as friendly. However, it was the only hotel I have stayed at in the area, so i have nothing to compare it to location wise.

So I travel constantly on business but this was vacation and I booked with IHG though I am a Hilton Diamond member and only the lowest status with IHG. This is a wonderful property. Newish, clean, great staff, wonderful breakfast, reasonable rates. It might have turned my loyalties around as had a not so nice experience with a Hilton Garden Inn earlier on vacation. Be sure to stay here if visiting Fort Bragg, the Redwoods, Glass Beach. the windows open, try to get a river/canyon view
