I'm a frequent business traveler and decided to try the Aloft concept. I am SPG gold. My first room smelled so bad I asked to be moved and was put in a disabled room that had no closet. I had to hang my suit and shirts on the door rod. Room was so tiny (both of the rooms I saw). No restaurant. Young and inexperienced front desk staff. I asked for a shuttle and was told it had left when in fact it hadn't. There are better options nearby: Hilton garden inn, Hyatt place, etc. I recent... Read more

Let's start with the good things about this hotel: -The pool is kind of cute -The décor is nice and modern -The housekeeping staff was friendly -There a lot of quick food options near by, and a Walgreens within walking distance Now for the not so good things: -The staff is terrible. Almost each and every one of them -The room was smaller than my first New York City apartment -There was no closet in the room to hang up clothes -The bathroom was dirty (you don't want the details) I travel for b... Had a great experience staying at the Aloft on the edge of El Segundo. Clean, modern hotel. Fairly new, with a small gym and pool. Bar staff were very friendly, in particular Tess and Desaray (?Spelling), as was the bar manager Conrad, who makes great mojitos. Generally pleasant and quite atmosphere. Restaurant facilities were lacking, but the hotel is surrounded by other restaurants it was not a problem. For me, the beach was in walking distance. This may be too far for others. One complai... The staff and hotel were amazing. Our bartender Heather, was wonderful. Rooms were a decent size and the pool wasn't too bad. You're going to be close to the ocean so spend your time swimming there! Kind of right in the middle of everything and close to LAX if you're just flying in. Highly recommended. Enjoy!

Excellent staff and service by most people and especially Marliene at the front Desk and the dedicated team. Rooms have problems (AC, bad noises, etc.) but the staff makes up for it if you are not staying long. We've stayed a couple of times for the convenience of the proximity to the airport for next day early flights. We live in LA. Great bar.

I made a reservation elsewhere in El Segundo and was walked to Aloft after I was informed that the original property couldn't honor the reservation. This property appears to cater to (young) traveling groups waiting for their flights at LAX. The property feels very sterile ... the bar in the lobby dominates the footprint, the staff were nice, but the property and room design is too modern and austere for me. The elevators were super slow and I ended up having to take the stairs to get where I wa... Read more

This hotel was modern, fun and located close to LAX. There is a bar and the lobby is a nice place to hang out for the social aspect with pool table. This was a rest stop for us from our trip to Europe and home. The shuttle was fast and easy to get. They were busy when we checked in but gave us a voucher for the bar and our room was ready 20 min later. The room was cozy, but modern and lots of fun details. I like the industrial window/French doors and they had a big bean bag in one corner. ... Read more

Good hotel near the airport and the car rental stations. If you have a car you will have to pay $ 14 per night, it's not included in rate. Lobby looks nice and staff is ok. It is extremely cold in the hallways. Our room was nice and clean. If you stay there for a LA trip you need a car, otherwise it is too far from everything.

My stay was 9/15 to 9/19. I arrived early and was able to get an early check-in. The hotel was nice and clean in a great location. After the first night I had an issue with the shower shooting water completely over the glass door and soaking everything that was in the bathroom and leaving huge puddles of water. I let the front desk know and the maintenance man was immediately sent up.The lobby area was nice to hang out. It smelled nice in the hotel but the aroma was entirely too strong and set m... I found the hotel very convenient for visitors who stay for a few days in LA before moving to other places. The hotel is very near to the International airport and it's modern!! You can find fancy restaurants nearby too. The downtown is not too far from the hotel. The hotel is in the beautiful place. I enjoyed every morning the breakfast that I choose and also some light foods at the bar in the lobby in the evening. This hotel is really nice. One thing.... the room was not as good as I expe... I stay here a good bit because the hotel is VERY close to LAX ( they have a shuttle from LAX) yet it is also has lots of great restaurants around it or even fast food within walking distance. Understand, Aloft's are very modern and focused on appealing to a younger age group....in other words it's not a Westin (plush) but it's nice and I do like it with comfortable beds for a 60 year old (ME). This is nice for me as its a $3.00 uber ride in the morning to my business.

Not far from the airport, free shuttle as well. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean. Stayed in a nice spacious room, very quiet and comfy. Nice to stay overnight but a bit far out if wanting to see downtown LA! Cost you 40 dollars in a Uber.

Stayed at this hotel for two days and it has some good and some bad features: with the bad outweighing the good. First, many of the negative reviews talked about the problem with the HVAC systems in the rooms. We experienced the same issue. Our room was terrible as far as maintaining a constant temperature. The AC ran all night and was quite loud. The hall temperature was comfortable but the room temperature was not. Aa other reviewer have noted this is a hotel targeting a very young travel... Read more

Upon driving in, this place is cute and chic. Plenty of parking and only 14 - that's a steal in LA. The lobby is modern and lively, a decent bar and a pool table The pool is open later than most hotel pools and is kind of secluded from the rooms (so no major problem in the rooms with pool noise) The room was clean and comfortable (including a large bean bag chair) and has plenty of charging hookups. BUT - when it was time to sleep, the problems set in. The air conditioner was so loud every time... Read more

I stayed at this hotel while traveling on business....It is new so the accommodations are fine and though the room/bathroom is a little small. it worked for my needs...I have two complaints...The way this hotel is decorated is so dark that you have a hard time seeing anything in the rooms ...That was frustrating to me and the halls are very loud and people are rude...I had people laughing and going up the hall after midnight making lots of noise both nights I stayed. We're new to aloft, like the idea, aesthetic, and price point. Our first experience was an aloft in Munich, which while also new, exceeded El Segundo except for the pool. We were with our young children and stayed on a Saturday. The bar was "busy" and we rode the elevator to our room with a poor girl who clearly drank too much and was lost between floor 7 and her thumb. Regardless, the room while small was well kept, beds were comfortable, location super convenient. You are very close to th... Read more

They are resting on their LA laurels...this property needed maintenance and was not the cleanest.Dingy. Let's talk about the parking...you have to pay (not the case at other Aloft properties) and good luck finding a spot on the upper level where many spots are compromised because someone parked in 2 spots like a drunk driver. I kid you not. Now let's talk about Room 323. Had the Aloft design of course, but seriously tiny. And across the hall from maintenance and the janitor, shared a wall w... Read more

We booked our hotel at the last minute and so glad we chose Aloft because the setting had a fun vibe. Bright colors and cool decor everywhere. Clean and comfy rooms. Great drinks, live music, friendly staff and awesome patio to chill on. Everything we needed was in walking distance which did not make it necessary for us to rent a car. And the free shuttle and short location to the airport made everything seamless. We would stay here again for sure.

This is not your parents' Hampton Inn. Hip decor, communal spaces for eating, playing board games and cool food market are the norm. Rooms are small, clean and very young-adult oriented; think bean bag rather than wingtip chair. Bathroom is really nice and features Bliss products. The bubble body soap is surprising :) Bar is fun. So I've stayed at/near LAX before and now that I've stayed here, this is my new "GO TO" hotel if you need to be close to the airport. Here are the reasons why: 1. If you've ever stayed at/near LAX before you, you probably stayed at one of those hotels on Century Blvd. They problem with those is that there are NO restaurants (other than nasty fast food joints) near those hotels...or you have to eat at the hotel restaurant. Either way, not good. Aloft is near good affordable food (Chipotle, ... Read more
