Resort appealed to me because of the classes and the grotto... that being said there were to many cons to make staying here a 'vacation' 1- Grounds are huge. If they put you in a room far from the grotto you will have to either drive there or take a five minute walk there - which in a bathing suit when nighttime temps fall below 50 is not feasible. 2- The grotto isn't a pool. If you want to lay out in the California sunshine this is not the place for you. It is very shaded. 3- The restaurant ... Read more

We've been going to Two Bunch Palms for the past 5 years or so and have seen ownership change twice, but never have we seen such huge changes as we saw this week. While its 1940's quirkiness was part of TBP's charm, I can see how nice place can be once it's totally modernized. We've always stayed in the Grotto rooms, and we did this time as well. What a shock! The interiors were completely unrecognizable. Modern, minimalist and chic, with a big walk-in shower and two copper tray sinks. Th... Read more

This and that. That. The desk staff in general is really sweet but largely clueless about their offerings; they sorta know about the spa, but classes are an utter mystery to them. When you ask for clarification between two classes, for example, they tell you the wrong thing, because they're guessing, which drives the actual instructors crazy. I was misdirected to a yoga class that was allegedly "harder" when it was not at all. And something billed as Van Gogh and Vino was not an art class but ... Read more

I really enjoyed my stay at two buck palms! It's an oasis away from the rest of the world, where all you feel is peace, calm and tranquility. I feel like it's my own special secret but I wanted to write a review -- you should enjoy it too' Everything from the beautiful lake with the ducks you can feed, to the hot mineral waters to the wellness (free!!) programs you can participate in like yoga and art/wine classes are amazing. It's like being transported away into a very peaceful place and I h... Read more

My wife and I stayed 5 days over new years 2017 at 2 bunch palms. The grotto has improved with the addition of many soaking tubs. The new upgraded rooms were a little austere, but well laid out and spacious. We loved the wet room with the deep tub and the shower. The Chef had a menu that we thought was outstanding. The spa services are top notch as usual. The property is so old school its cool again.

We had a great time, the treatments and staff were excellent. They do not operate like a typical hotel though in that the billing system is the most ludicrous I have ever seen. We had a spa and breakfast package and it took me 15 minutes at check out to figure out the bill. There is no communication between either the spa or the dining room that you have a special package. When you get the bill, they couldn't have devised a worse system for showing you the charges and there were numerous mistake... Read more

Just had a wonderful stay at this property, a great place to recharge after Christmas. The centre piece of the property is a grotto with water coming from natural springs. But there is much more. There are individual pool tubs, a pond where ducks may get a bit overfriendly in search of food, and a good spa with excellent treatments, which apparently used to be a brothel in Al Capone's days! The deep tissue Arnica massage is a must. The resort also has interesting mind and body classes including ... Read more

Great for treatments but forget everything else. From disorganized check in (treatments were booked at 2:45 and no room was ready until after 3:30. Apparently check in time is 4pm. I travel globally and have never come across this policy except at youth hostels back in the day when I was a student traveler. We stayed 5 nights over New Years 2017. The room was frequently only serviced after 5 pm. The walls were thin so we had to ensure our neighbor's loud TV on one side and the sounds of vomi... Read more

Really nice relaxing place, spent there two nights, and enjoyed nature. Rooms are very nicely designed, great Coffe with machine in the room... better than most coffees one can get downtown. Can understand people complaining about loudness, but it was not due to the hotel infrastructure, more the people not really behaving in a proper way...The restaurant is awesome too. And then tHE SURPRISE... Didn't expect to learn so much about mediating, eventhough i am into it since ages! The same for Tai... Read more

Beautiful resort with the most delightful staff! Everyone try to accommodate and make you feel welcome. Some parts of the resort were still under construction but we barely noticed any of the noise during our stay. Everything about this place was wonderful. From the amazing free classes with professional instructors(yoga, meditation, Thai chi, painting, shaman reading) to the relaxing grotto pool and new semiprivate self filling soaking tubs, with clean ,hot mineral wather, that doesn't smell a chlo...
