Perfect place to crash a few nights outside of the congestion of SF. Clean and charming. Super nice and accommodating receptionist named Vanessa helped us patiently through a last minute booking due to a flat tire. The next day we needed to extend checkout and it was no problem. We would come back again.

Super nice people and great view! Breakfast came in a box with an orange, hard boiled egg, yogurt and the plastic wear to go with it. Healthy! They had a coffee machine and you can make your own espresso! Was really good! Internet was free and so was the parking. Worth the money if you want to just lay your head and feel safe and rested. The only thing is that they are doing road construction in the area. Yes I did and will continue to stay here.

First time staying in the outskirts of the city. Usually when I go to SF I have fun, but tend to feel like I am in a pinball machine being bounce all over the place. Staying at the Alpine Inn felt like all the hustle and bustle of the city was within a short bus/muni ride away while being nestled in the hills San Bruno Mountain State park. This gave an impression of being a relatively close to nature and a relaxing oasis when you went to rest your head. I would definitely recommend this pl... Read more

I loved the room we got for our last day in San Francisco. It was a good ending to our trip. I liked entering the apartment, then heading to the room was small but well organized, clean and beautiful. bed is comfortable. bathroom was cute. first time a hotel has a nice coffee machine, Kruger, that you can enjoy a cup of coffee not like the regular coffee machines with the packed filters that coffee isn't drinkable. I liked the view, the flower arrangements outside on the whole site. Staff is ver... Read more

I had a great stay at the Alpine Inn & Suites. I came In and was greeted by Vanessa who was extremely helpful when I asked for assistance with my room key. The room was very nice and comfortable. When I checked out the next day, Natalie was at the front desk and she was also just as sweet. I definitely recommend this place :)

We could not believe the price difference vs other hotels when we booked this place - so i was half expecting something wrong, even after reading the reviews... What a nice surprise though! Excellent service, super clean rooms, comfortable and simple accommodation. Loved the coffee machine in the room and the tiny breakfast. Plenty of parking (not sure why other people complain) and very well connected to san francisco (direct bus through center from corner of the street). Book with confidence!

I went to San Francisco for an audition at Cow Palace. The hotel was conveniently situated right up a hill behind my audition site. Location is everything!! The hotel staff were absolutely AMAZING. Upon check in, I told the clerk that I was from Alabama there for an audition and when I woke up on the audition day I had a "Good Luck" card waiting at my door step. I thought that was so awesome. With it being my first time in the Bay area, the staff were very helpful in getting me around the city a... Read more

If you still aren't convinced with the stellar reviews,,, let me tell you more. They keep facilities clean and with better toilet papers (it matters)....... Came here for a business trip and the girls who helped me Natalie and Lourdes provided nothing but great customer service. Nice, helpful and extremely accommodating with things to do/eat in the city. Great unique area to stay in with a perfect view of the cow palace. Comfortable bed especially the pillows. I wouldn't walk in the evening arou... Read more

I have stay here quite a bit with work. After realizing I left my hanging clothes at another hotel in Sacramento, I was speaking to the staff here about the issues I was having while trying to locate my clothing. Alex, the mgr, took full control, told me to give her about an hour to work her magic. Magic is what she did for me! She located my clothes, and had them shipped overnight to the hotel! A true angel! She went above and beyond the call of duty and worked a miracle for me!! I won't stay a... Read more

I had a wonderful short stay at Alpine Inn. It is a cute little Inn with all the comforts you'd expect, and clean relatively new rooms. Vanessa and Natalie in the reception made me feel welcome, and I especially liked the concept of a little breakfast box to take back to your room (in lack of a restaurant.) The breakfast might have been a bit sparse, but tasty. Thanks!

After looking for a hotel last minute, alpine inn was the best choice, the price was very affordable (comparable to the others in the bay) the rooms where cozy comfortable and overall very well maintained, Vanessa the receptionist was so very friendly as well as Alex, everyone should give it a try some time.

Small friendly motel near Cow Palace. We had a small 2 room suite perfect for family of 3. Adjacent vending machines, ice, and happily a laundry facility, free coffee nearly 24 hrs; was a great base if a bit off the beaten track. Not the greatest of neighbourhoods but a nearby bus if you want to go public transport to SF ( c 30 mins to Fishermans Wharf). Main thing is great value - way cheaper than 3* hotels downtown. Nearly always full, book well in advance (although we got lucky and booked in... Read more

Pros- Our 2 queen room had each bed in a separate room. It worked perfectly for us. Clean and bright room with laminate floor. Lots of fresh air off the ocean. Very friendly staff. Rooms have stairs going up to the entrance. Our room #114 had the most stairs at 8 stairs and had a nice view of the bay skyline (as long as it's not too foggy). We could see sunrise over the bay from outside the door and the sparkly lights of night life. Ample free parking. Fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Che... Read more

The suite was fine, clean and well kept. Heating equipment only in one room out of two. Parking available right outside the room door. Personnel at reception was exquisite and generous in advice. The only remark I got is on breakfast, which could be improved (1 hard bolied egg, one piece of fruit, four small doughnuts, one yoghurt... each day the same). All in all it was8 good and worth staying.

Finished our week vacation by staying here last 3 nights. Very glad we did! Thank you to the staff for advice on when to "beat the traffic" and allowing me to go to the office to "keep you company" when there was down time. Breakfast boxes hit the spot! We are definitely coming back! Linda S.

We booked here becouse in san francisco everything was booked or super expensive, in any caSe we regret of the choice. Here it s still expensive and the small money saved are spent in comuting to SF. Service is pretty bad and the "so called" breakfast is a box containg one apple, one small yogurt and an egg

We stayed here with our 3 children (ages 8, 10 and 11) at the start of our 3 week road trip and found it the perfect place to catch up on sleep after our journey from the UK and for exploring San Fran. Great price accommodation, free parking and only 20 mins' drive from the airport. Friendly, helpful staff at our late check-in and throughout our 3-night stay; good sized suite with comfortable beds and everything we needed. While on a week long roadtrip traversing the coast of California, my boyfriend and I decided to stay at the Alpine Inn for a night. It is very conveniently placed next to San Francisco for a traveler wants to see the city without paying the high price of hotel rooms located within the city limits. This seemed to be a decent area, if you look beyond the Cow Palace you see a bit of the bay. The staff was very nice and we got a breakfast box which would consist of a hard boiled egg, apple, some munchkin size donuts and a small yogurt. We where very busy during the day in San Francisco, so this was just fine to lay our heads down at night. The price was right, did not want to spend a lot of money for a room we would hardly be in! Which the closer to SF to got, the more expensive it became... Read more

Good rooms, little bit small but doesn't really matter if your out all day. The breakfast on the go is great. Would have like a little more variety. Free proper hot drinks on site and a vending machine if needed as the shop is driving distance. If going into the city. Catch the bus. A lot easier. The staff are amazingly helpful and will provide excellent information.

1) The staff was top notch, every day (and night) and super helpful. Very friendly. Always positive about everything I asked about. 2) Everything in the San Francisco area is super expensive. This was within our budget. 3) Easy to get to and from SFO airport. (Less than 30 minutes.) 4) The number 8 bus has a pair of stops about 400 yards from the front door of the hotel. The bus runs every 10 minutes. It is a 10 minute bus ride to the Balboa Park BART station (and then a 30 minute tr... Read more

Place was clean and tidy. The room we had is quiet and its not far from city and Golden Gate at all. I would suggest for the heater to be checked as the one in our room wasn't working and inside the shower was quite dark. I would say it's perfect for a short stay. The lady at the reception called Natalie was very friendly and helpful and tried to make everything easy for us. We were very pleased with her great service. So thank you for the professional and positive attitude. Mrs & Mr Miller

The ride from SFO had me worried. The neighborhoods were run down looking and downright scary. When we got to the Inn, it was on a hill , residential area, safe and lovely views of the water. A drive to San Francisco was only minutes and the scenery was gorgeous.. We took a different route. The lovely , sweet front office girls were as sweet as they were beautiful. We stopped at this place unexpectedly when looking for a place to stay for the night after a long trip, but loved it so much we had to stay another night. The room was very clean, had comfortable beds to lay on, and met all our needs at a very reasonable price. Natalie was very pleasant and was obligated to help us with questions we had. Thank you!!! I think for the money it would be better to spend just a bit more and get a fancy place to stay, but for mid-grade hotel and SF prices this was pretty good. The best part was that it was totally quiet. It's right by the cow palace and I was there for an event, so I expected some noise, but it was silent. Really liked that. Staff was friendly, room was clean and had a good shower, nice fridge and the bed was totally fine (I usually freak out when I leave my TempurPedic). Breakfast was a joke so... Read more
