This was a very clean and fancy and elegant hotel. The rooms was very comfortably and the cleaning service was good. The front desk staff was very helpful. The morning breakfast was excellent. But their workout room is too small; only one treadmill doesn't make much sense.

My hunny and I stayed at this location while we were house hunting in the surrounding area so we were in bed early and up early each day. The breakfast buffet (which isn't free) is delicious, fresh and had healthy options of fruit or eggs with spinach and tomatoes. Its worth choosing to eat at the hotel rather than looking elsewhere. Staff are friendly and very helpful. If i had one negative thing to say would be that the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor and our toilet flushed so lo... Read more

My recent stay at the Costa Mesa Crowne Plaza was great. Other than one grumpy guy who was pretty awful, every other member of staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and overlooked the pool, which was nice. The TV signal was clear but the choice wasn't brilliant. The coffee machine was easy to use (some biscuits would have been nice) and the bathroom was nice and clean. The pool looked nice but was very chilly. I had a tasty breakfast every day in the Fireside Tavern, the... Read more

Hotel is convenient to the John Wayne Airport (SNA), shopping, businesses, etc. It is also OLD, and our room, while "nice-ish" was dated. Waited to check in for about 10 minutes before the attendant came out from the back office. Sounded like she was on a personal phone call. I realize it was midnight, but pay attention to your job - it is why you are there. Didn't partake of drinking or dining on facility. Most of the parking is in the back, and you walk through a lot of dark to get to ... Read more

This hotel is missing something. The location is ok, service is not so great and the rooms are set up in a very awkward way, with closets being next to the bathroom boor and the door to the room, three doors all open outward and bang into each other . The coffee maker is placed inside the closet which i didnt see, but you have to take it out and use it in the bathroom, no mirrors in the room but one in the closet, rooms on the first floor facing parking lot made me feel exposed. Great accommodations and amenities, but the staff, at all levels, are very attentive to their guests. This morning, and yesterday morning, the fabulous fresh real food breakfast buffet was very busy. Servers and all buffet staff were gracious, efficient and timely with coffee as well as the refilling of the buffet service. Tables were cleared quickly, the coffee flowed and the guests were well served. Excellent breakfast staff, cheerful and attentive even under pressure! Awesome fresh food!!!!... Read more

I visited this hotel on a recent trip to Orange County. I found this hotel to be exceptional both in appearance and in their staff. I especially want to mention two people, Betza and Giovanna. Both of these two ladies are extremely friendly and anxious to help when I needed them. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a hotel that appreciates their guests and where the staff is always ready to assist in whatever the guests desire.

The Crowne Plaza Costa Mesa was decent. The rooms were awkward, but very clean, no bugs! Parking was $10 per night (free wifi) and the building was quiet. For the price, this place was worth it. There is a coffee maker (in a closet?) and a rainfall shower head in the bathroom. The hotel bar has awesome (though overpriced) food and decent happy hour. This hotel seems to cater to airline employees and large groups. We chose the location as it is equidistant to the beach and Disneyland. Tra... Read more

I found this on the Secret buy on Travelocity and I am super impressed. I work in the industry and know what to look for. The lobby is fantastic and the ambiance lovely. I was greeted by Alex Henry at the Front Desk. He was wonderful and made me feel at home. He's a keeper, great customer service and personality. I would totally take him to my Vegas property. The uniforms are a great color too. Thank you for the opportunity to find you and I will be staying this franchise of hotels again!! I lov... Read more

Positives are cleanliness, bed, location and staff. Negatives are a noisy a/c, no fridge or microwave. They would bring in a portable fridge for $10 a night! Also, bar drinks are pricey if it's not happy hour. In spite of being close to the freeway, it was fairly quiet. The room was well appointed and roomy. All in all, it was not bad. With just a little more amenities, it could be great. We were going to the Scottish games at the fairground and would stay there again.

Annoyed that my flight was canceled out of Santa Ana and I couldn't get out until the next day, I searched on my phone for the highest rated hotel closest to South Coast Plaza. The Crowne Plaza in Costa Mesa came up with a 4.8 out of 5.0 rating, a very reasonable rate, and free shuttle to and from the airport. I called and was picked up within 10 minutes of my phone call and delivered to the hotel. The customer service associate at the desk was pleasant, empathetic, and efficient. They offer... Read more

Awesome stay! Karen at the Front desk was really nice. Really close to a lot of places. Parking was easy to find. All in all, a nice hotel and definitely would stay here again. And likely will for future trips whenever I am in the Orange County area. Thanks again Karen!

Front Desk staff extremely helpful and courteous -- want to recognize Alex Henry he was excellent! Helped me with my billing and he also went out of his way to help us retrieve some luggage that my daughter had accidentally left behind. His quick action resulted in us getting our "stuff" before we had to fly out -- thanks Alex!

We stayed for a weekend stop as part of our family vacation and the we had a great experience. Rooms were clean and nice. We had breakfast buffets included for our group and our server Mina was extraordinary service for our breakfast meal. When we arrived for breakfast the second morning she already offered to prepare our tables bring larger quantities of water and coffee and overall took care of us. Amazing service at the restaurant.

We were in the executive wing and our room was lovely. Took us about 10 minutes to figure out where the curtains were but the room was modern, with a large bed and clean, shiny bathroom. McDonalds next door was a welcome sight when we arrived late in the evening and hungry! The only negative I can think of was there was a bit of a stain on the sofa in the room, everything else was spot on. It was a little more pricey than other similar hotels we have stayed in, but this is to do with the area r... Read more

We booked the Green rate which I believe they will not have anymore but it was worth the rate with free breakfast and a cocktail at night. We ate at the restaurant both mornings and were greeted by a very friendly staff that was very accommodating, Especially Imelda C Rodriguez. She was the best. The food was excellent and the bar had a great variety of drinks. The rooms were comfy and clean and the pool was nice. It was also in a good central location. I would recommend this hotel.

Happily surprised as to how good my stay at this hotel was. I planned 5 days, stayed 7. Everything was spot on. From the accommodations to the Fireside restaurant. The staff was amazingly attentive during the whole stay. Special thanks to Virginia, Alex and Aldo. Outstanding. And thanks Greg for moving me after we discovered a noise issue from the neighboring room. I'd come back as its a good location to meet up with my friends and eat. Also walking distance to the Lab and the Camp.

I use this hotel every month for business trips. It is very consistent. The rooms are quite comfortable. The pillows, sheets, and towels are of good quality. The bed is very comfortable. The a/c works well and can be set by me with a thermostat. The staff are friendly and helpful. I only eat there for breakfast as there are so many choices for lunch and dinner elsewhere. The food is good although not very imaginative if you get the buffet. Same thing pretty much every day.

We had a great stay at the Crowne Plaza Costa Mesa. All staff was friendly and so helpful. Awesome service by Mina! She took the time to recommend shopping and was just a pleasure to talk to. this hotel offered everything we needed for this trip--pool was great, bar was great and the outside lounge area with the fire was so comfortable!

The hotel may look old from outside but it's very nice and modern inside. Bar area and bar patio are really cool. Rooms are also very well kept. Parking is only 10 dollars a night. Free internet and free welcome drink for rewards members. They have a good selection of draft beers. Happy hour from 5-7.

Very happy with our choice of hotel, in particular the location which was central to everywhere we needed. We stayed for 10 nights and couldn't have chosen a better 'all round' hotel. Food, quality of room, pool etc were all well above standard however what stood out for us was the quality of the staff. There wasn't one person who let them down which, as a well travelled businessman, is very rare. Imelda in the restaurant was great example of how friendly and proffessional staff should be. The o... Does't look so good outside but inside it's beautifully done. The room we had was large and had lots of outlets for our gadgets. Large bathroom and great shower. We didn't have a refrigerator or micro, for our leftover food and they do charge for parking right out front and not secured? Thermostat to control the quiet air-conditioning. The internet in our room was very slow and unreliable.

I have such mixed feelings on this place. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, which is great. My room on the other hand was just good, average, but not 4 stars. Lots of wear and tear on the bed frames, carpet and fixtures. There were stains of 3 of the 4 lamp shades...looks nasty. The fire alarm fixture was rusty and shabby looking as well as the yellowed (obviously old) smoke alarm which went off when you open the bathroom door after a shower...because there is no fan in the bathroom,... Free Wi Fi! Surrounded by shopping and restaurants! This place is a great value and staff were very helpful and courteous. This is my 4th visit and will continue to stay here. I had been staying at the Westin which is a very nice place but this is much better value. Westin charges for internet and parking which adds another $30 per day to costs. Thanks for a great stay!

I was here for business and stayed a week. Pros --> The staff were excellent, especially those in the restaurant. Ismeda was attentive and anticipated needs for us all week. The location was central to our meetings and the meeting room was large and comfortable for our work. Cons --> However, the internet through out the hotel was very poor. I had to attend meetings in Costa Mesa and the meetings were held at the Crowne Plaza Costa Mesa. It was a wonderful place to have our meetings. One of the best things about the hotel is the staff. They were very friendly and were attentive to our every need. One employee, Imelda Rodriguez, went above and beyond the call of duty each day when we ordered lunch in the hotel. She always got our orders correct, and brought them in to our meeting room with a smile. Way to go, Imelda!

We stayed there for two days and had a great time. The room was very clean and decent size. The staff super friendly and helpful. The bathroom has a rainforest shower head which was amazing. A lot of little touches like aromatherapy lotions and sprays for a good night sleep and extra charging stations for laptops and cell phones. Super fast free wifi and great location. The tavern down stairs has excellent food , reasonable prices and awesome service. All in all a great stay.

Nothing really bad with the place, it's reasonably priced, well located and service is very good, problems are just in the structure it self. Old rooms, smell in all common area, a mix of different contribution that give you the idea of dust also if probably it's all clean. Room are not very good maintained, mine was with burning/abrasion on the old carpet, cables were running on the wall in a quite humespun way and not a very good sound isolation; pretty noisy in the night. Very accommodating. Karen was the one of the nice customer service reps I had the chance of meeting. Although I called 2x to let them know I would be late(and later...)
