Lovely little California motel style pool and hot tub, comfortable beds and rooms, decent hotel restaurant with nice patio and outdoor tables, breakfast buffet, free chocolate chip cookies. Unfortunately, no espresso coffees though you can walk down the highway half a block to The Spot for that. Highway location is not inspiring but it is next to Trader Joe's, and not far from the colleges (a 15 minute walk if you want to do without a car--it is possible!).

After a long arduous drive, what delights travelers is a clean, comfortable room and welcoming staff. We experienced both at Claremont Doubletree. Our room was cosy, tucked away on the end facing a relaxing garden. The room is small but efficiently designed. Although not a new property, maintenance seems to be a priority.

Lovely hotel, comfortable rooms and beds, beautiful gardens, pool and hot tub. Staff were all wonderful. Convenient to everything. A five minute drive/20 minute walk to town; five minute drive to a hiking path into the foothills of the San Gabriel mountains. I have stayed here a few times and generally like it very much. Quiet, nice pool, warm cookies (I got 2 even though I was by myself when I checked in). :) One issue this visit for one night in late May, though. I had asked when I booked for a room with no down comforter or pillows (allergic). They noted it on check in, so it seemed all good. But the pillows were super lumpy -- both my college age daughter (who decided to stay over at the last minute and slept in the 2nd bed) and I ended up ... Read more

The purpose of my stay was for one reason only, having a place for me and my bridal party to get ready prior to my wedding. My wedding venue would not allow us to arrive any earlier than 4 PM so I had made arrangements with the Claremont Doubletree to check out at 4 PM for an extra fee. However when the time came (on my wedding day) they informed me that all rooms were booked and that I had to find another location to get ready for my wedding. In addition, I was also denied breakfast vouchers ... Read more

I absolutely love this hotel! It's conveniently located to everything needed. Peaceful and quiet, friendly staff, and comfortable plush accommodations. Parking is easy and quick in and out access to your rooms. I've been traveling to SoCal on business for the last 20+ years. I'll say out of the many places I've stayed this is definitely one of my favorites! Pool area and hot tub are a perfect way to unwind and relax. The Doubletree was perfect for our Claremont stay while we visited the local colleges. The staff bent over backwards to accommodate us from start to finish! We were able to get an earlier check in time than we expected which truly helped make our day more manageable. The room we were given was in Bldg. 4, the building in the back. It's a 'normal' corporate hotel, but managed to exceed the category buy a long way by the friendly staff that are really interested in making your stay a pleasure. The 'HHonors electronic key app' was a bit annoying to get working, but the front desk team never made it feel like a chore. They were in it to make it right. Recommend an interior facing room so you don't get issues like garbage truck noise etc. Great breakfast, served by a great team

This place is very nice and comfortable with one exception: I was disappointed to learn that Bibles are not provided in guest rooms (especially since they are provided by a third party at no cost). Additionally, none were available upon request. When you spend a lot of time on the road away from your family and home, it is nice to be able to take solace in the WORD. I just downloaded the Bible App so it wasn't too bad I guess.

I wouldn't recommend staying here from my experience. The hallways in our building smelled musty and moldy. Our room cooling wouldn't go below 72, it took 3 calls to the front desk for service related to bedding allergies, and the shuttles for our wedding never showed up.

Every staff member we encountered seemed to operate with the same commitment to excellent customer service. We were so impressed with their efforts to accommodate. Everyone from the front desk staff, to the restaurant staff, to the cleaning staff were friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely cared that your stay was the best possible experience.

This is a real nice hotel. The common area has a beautiful sitting area under the sky with lights stretching across the entire area giving you a real nice place to sit and just relax. The hotel staff is very nice from start to finish. Rooms are clean and the shower has great pressure so you actually feel the water hitting you body. Their menu is small but the hamburgers are amazing. In the parking lot there is a Piano bar that is fun and it's only feet from the hotel.

Super 8 motel at Waldorf prices. clean, decent room, nothing bad about the room, but no bellman, have to haul bags through lobby out back door to rear building after paying $250 for a room. Nice enough place for $75, but way over priced for quality of service and hike to room. Might be better in main building.

I enjoyed this hotel. Service was beyond wonderful, very friendly, and the beds were top notch. Great food and is conveniently located next to Traders Joe's which is helpful if you require lunch or food for the road. Cookies are a sweet touch. Will definitely stay again.

Great hotel. Good location on Foothill Blvd. Rooms are nicely furnished and comfortable. The noise level from surrounding rooms was minimal. A great place to rest and relax. BUT in the restaurant the food quality is slightly above average and the prices are fair for what you get. Service was very good. The big problem is that the bar shares the same space with the restaurant. The noise level was so bad that my wife and I couldn't hear each other talk at the far end of the room. Stay here but eat ... The room was comfortable and clean. My consistent complaint about hotels is that most have the T.V. in a place where you cannot watch it if you are sitting at the desk. The desk is too high for comfort and the chair does not raise high enough to compensate. Otherwise the hotel is great.

Make sure you check with the hotel about construction before you go. The could have cared less about the problems that we had. Just tried to push it off on somebody else. We had a large group there and multiple people stated the thing. It definitely was NOT worth $400 for the weekend.

Nice hotel. The surroundings were nice. Great breakfast buffet. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I didn't like the pillows. Too soft. The surrounding city was very nice with lots of places to eat and shop. My hats off to the hotel for hosting a free event for Veterans. I will definitely stay here again should I have the chance to visit. Thanks for a great stay Doubletree.

We have stayed here a few times and I have to say each and every time we have stayed we have had a great experience. The service is always top notch. We are always greeted with a warm welcome and a cookie. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The location is also very convenient they have a great restaurant inside the hotel and are close to other great places to eat in Claremont. Our balcony over looked the pool and had a great view.

I very much enjoyed my stay at The Doubletree. The only thing that could be improv d is to heat the swimming pool. I don't go into cold water, did enjoy the hot tub however. I was amazed at the wait staff in the dining room, they were exceptional!

Generally, a good choice if you're at a conference or visiting the Claremont Colleges. Staff were friendly and helpful. Courtyard area could do with more chairs and tables for late night gatherings. Close to Trader Joes and an excellent health cafe.

The hotel is on the edge of the residential neighborhood surrounding the colleges, which makes for a a pleasant walk to campus. The facility is nice and the staff is very professional and pleasant. I would recommend it.

Not a lot to choose from in Claremont, but so great to have something of this caliber. Staff is professional, hotel will not disappoint and the location is perfect, as it is within walking or quick drive distance of services and colleges. Availability is limited, so don't wait.

We spent one night at the Claremont Doubletree before a campus tour of Pomona College. The hotel is certainly convenient to the Claremont McKenna Colleges and appears to be recently redecorated. The breakfast buffet was very good. Other than these observations, there is not much more to recommend. The hotel is spread across a few buildings making getting to your room and navigating the small, slow elevators in each building a challenge (especially at night). The rooms are on the small side ... We stayed here as part of a wedding. A block of rooms had been reserved. Check in went well and it's obvious they are in the process of renovating this hotel. It's not the standard I expected of a Doubletree and it's very apparent it wasn't a Doubletree to start with. But not a bad stay. Rooms are small and bathroom even smaller. Bedding was nice and comfortable. AC thermostat needs some work. Elevators are small. All self parking, but can be very crowded on a weekend. Restaurant bar was nice bu... Read more

Our daughter had a team tournament and the wife and I traveled to watch. It was like a vacation from the kids, but we saw them during the day. The hotel was older and parts are being remodeled, but it was in good condition and quaint. The staff was amazing all around. The room was clean. The area was safe and only a few minutes drive to The Village.

From beginning to end, this was a great stay. I was able to make the reservation over the phone, and they accommodated our request to have two adjoining rooms (for us and our kids). The staff was just amazing and made us feel right at home. Rooms were very nicely appointed, and it was great to be able to walk to grocery and restaurants. The proximity to the Claremont colleges and the Village area was great--not a long walk. I highly recommend this hotel!
