The hotel is nice they are doing their best to update and it's comfortable however there was a night when I stayed I saw a guy walking the hallways pushing in doors which is a safety hazard for guests. My room wasn't serviced and I did not have a dnd sign in my room which was weird.

Check in was fast & easy as we had made prior reservations. The room was average for cleanliness. The bathroom wall behind the toilet tank looked liked if someone standing up had slammed it with their hand as it was cracked & in need of repair. On my second night, a small car occupied with 2 males & 2 female backed up two stalls away from my rooms door and they sat there talking loudly. Another car then drove up a while later, driven by a male, who parked 2 stalls to the left of my door, got ou... Read more

Was alright for the price. Staff were friendly and trust me that is important to me. Price was great also. The floor had not been vacuumed or swept when we checked in but was too tired to care. So in all fairness I didn't say anything as I'm sure they would of sent someone to correct this. Not much of a selection for breakfast except I saw oatmeal and pastry but I don't care so much about that as I was looking for price, sleep and not food but I know it is important to others. Great location for... Read more

Please PLEASE don't allow people to smoke outside non smoking rooms. If you allow them to do this then there's no point in one getting a non smoking room when you have a person smoking right outside your window. I've had 3 people smoke outside their room in the balcony and i have the door or the window open to let some air in my room and these people start smoking and all the smoke starts going into my room. I have allergies and my mother has asthma so that's why we asked for a non smoking room ... Read more

The remodel of the property remains ongoing as of this stay but what a difference in the room. New carpet, paint, bedding, and curtains make the room feel brand new. Don't judge by the outside, rooms are nice and well cared for. Breakfast is not worth a even a free stop but there are 10 choices within walking distance. (try Emma's Pancakes across the street.) Close to the water but more importantly close to the trolley this is a perfect motel for getting anywhere on public transportation. I... Read more

Westin has updated this Days Inn in Chula Vista Ca. and it is now a great sleep. New beds, updated bathroom and HD TV. gives a feeling of relaxing and secure. Good value. I canceled my reservation in error past the free cancelation date. I called the front desk and they had me rebook without any extra fees added on. I will return.

La Quinta has now outpriced itself. So we decided to try Days Inn. The outside of the building is clean and tidy. The staff was friendly and greeted us warmly. We had called and asked for early check in and a room was ready. We asked if we could have a room in front instead. No problem! We were asked to wait 20 minutes and yep! The room was ready! No fitness at all. Very small-size swimming pool. They use very strong chemicals in the bath. It needed very serious ventilation. Poor breakfast. No egg. Only bread and cup-cakes, everyday. No hot food at all. Location is excellent. One block away from I-5 exit and blue-line SD Tram station. Many fastfood and Walmart are close to 5 min distances. If you give up any fitness and breakfast, it is a reasonable choice.

First, the good things: The staff was friendly and very helpful on our stay. The front desk staff was very nice as well as the staff attending the breakfast room. The new TV is awesome with good channel selection as well as the AC system. The maid service was spot-on and tried to leave everything clean and neat (where possible) The bad things: The furniture is going down; I couldn't find where to put my belongings because the clothes furniture was with a funny smell and many cracks on the wood.... this hotel we got for a fairly decent price and enjoyed our stay there. It was quite a large hotel and had a pool (which we didnt go in as it wasnt warm enough) and free breakfast - with a fair few options. The staff were helpful and the rooms were very nice with a microwave and fridge in. There are lots of paces to eat nearby - cheap chain resturants. Ideal for tram to the centre - transport links are great in san diego.

I was greeted with a smile at the front desk each time I came into the lobby and was even given some free cup of Oxy to do a load of laundry. It was nice to stay somewhere where it seemed the employees cared about thier place of work. Even when we were disappointed to find that the pool was temporarily shut down I was happy to learn it was for the best interest of thier guests. This is an old property on a very busy street. They do the best they can with what they have to work with. We had an outside room facing the street - quite noisy in the evening, which I guess is to be expected. Rooms are very small (again, an old property). I needed a place to stay for business, and this one fit the bill. The receptionist was very welcoming and friendly; parking was plentiful and lighting adequate; the room was very clean, well stocked of towels; has free WiFi (didn't have a chance to use it); nice bed and a/c helped; only reason I gave them 4 stars was because the tables were a bit old and discolored, and definitely needs to be changed out.
