I have been staying here weekly on business for the past 3 months, and have previously written a review for this property. I keep coming back because the staff is excellent as is the property and the room. The breakfast is is quite good with lots of choices, especially choices of protein. As long as I need to keep coming to Carlsbad weekly for business, I'll be staying at this La Quinta.

Thank you, for letting pets stay. It helps traveling so much easier. I can almost always count on la Quinta on allowing pets. We had raised a puppy for CCI canine companion. We brought our other dog, with us to make it easier on us when we left our puppy to be trained. For a companion in need. The room was very clean. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable. But everything else was good. The breakfast was good. The staff very friendly, accommodating.

Everything was great, the room was very clean and inviting ,the continental breakfast was a great start to the day.The gas fireplace on the patio made for a relaxing evening, did not get a chance to use the pool or weight room, but it was available. Hats off to the staff!

We are a family of 6 plus two furbabies! We planned a trip to Sea World, San Diego Zoo, and Legoland. We ultimately chose the Carlsbad La Quinta and were not disappointed! The town was great and had very little traffic. We were just a short drive from the ocean and breathtaking sunsets! The drive to San Diego was not so bad! Although, there was quite a bit of traffic on the interstate. We chose a family suite that included two separate rooms, 1 King bed and a bunk bed. We were happy to see it al... Read more

LaQuinta Inns are always a guarantee of a clean room. Not luxurious, not opulent but clean and comfortable with free internet (this one was a little slow, but you get what you pay for sometimes.) It was a good value for the money.

We stayed 3 nights for a family trip and I would recommend finding another hotel in the area. The room was in poor condition with holes in the bedding and stains on the throw cover at the bottom of the bed, as well as stains all over the couch cushions. Although the breakfast had somewhat of a variety, everything from the condiments to the utensils was low quality. With the way the hotel tried to present itself, we just expected better...

Very nice room. Large enough and clean. Bed was comfortable. Shower area could be a little larger. Love the remodel. Grounds were kept very clean and staff was great. The hotel accepts dogs, which made my trip even more fun. But you would never know the hotel took animals because the grounds were so well kept. The fire pit looked cozy and pool area was well kept. Both areas were close to the lobby so you felt safe. Really enjoyed my stay. I was there a week. Will stay again next time ... Read more

We came from Las Vegas for a weekend at the beach, and I booked off of Expedia. The hotel is mediocre, nothing real special, nothing horrible, but the rooms seemed quite smaller than imagined. We had a king bed with sofa pullout which was extremely uncomfortable, that was probably the worse thing. The kids slept in the bed. The A/C worked well, sometimes too cold, breakfast was not the greatest, steer clear of the watery sausage patties and stick to the fruit, yogurt, and waffles. Bagels were ve... Read more

Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Arrived late for check in but had no problem. Breakfast was great! Loved sitting by the outdoor fireplace. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Short drive to the beach. Outlet shopping within 10 minutes. Carlsbad Village is close. This is close to LEGOLAND so be ready for a lot of small children, not really a problem just gets crowded at breakfast around the waffle makers. In a residential neighborhood with gated communities.

Pillows weren't very comfortable. But overall it was ok. My kids weren't that impressed and the pool is right in front of hotel kind of hidden. For a quick stay after being at Legoland all day it was fine. They did have gasoline stations close by, fast food restaurants but not many choices on family style restaurants.

Nice property in Carlsbad, the night front desk guy was SO KIND and patient with me as I stumbled in around midnight super cranky from a horrible bumper to bumper drive down the coast. This is really a straight-up MOTEL experience. The bathrooms are poorly laid out and the use of the one sink is restricted to one person at a time all the while fighting the outward swinging toilet room door and closet door. We had an end unit nearest the freeway and the noise level was so high that we had to run our white noise machine through an amplified speaker the second night to try and mask the loud trucks.

We had free points and this was the only La Quinta that would honor points 4th of July weekend. It is an older property. The rooms are renovated and clean, exterior entry, beds were comfy. Shower worked fine, toilet did break the morning we were leaving (we did not call the desk, we just finished getting ready and let them know when we checked out--nothing major, the handle flusher must have snapped and it would not flush) The breakfast was ok, BUT was EXTREMELY crowded, we understand it was ...
