No one advised us the carpets were being replaced and they kept the heater on and the glue fumes kicking! The a/c in the room did not work. Other then that the restaurant was amazing the bar was great and the hot tub and pool were amazing as well.. Great location, however there is another Hilton literally one mile down the road with walk on balcony's and better beach access. I'm just saying.

The room and the service were great! Really enjoyed the food and happy hour in the evening after a long day. Beware the breakfast! They don't offer complimentary continental breakfast. You can buy continental breakfast for $13 or you can get the buffet for $17 or you can order a la carte. The breakfast was truly awful. Don't waste your money, find a restaurant off site! I would stay here again but would plan food accordingly.

We truly enjoyed our staycation at HGI Carlsbad, the location is fantastic, the rooms are clean, spacious and with all amenities. I love having a fridge for my own use instead of a minibar. The hotel puts out a lot of games for us to enjoy with our kids, and then of course the ocean is right there. The breakfast has to be one of the best I have ever had. Staff is very nice and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

We chose to hold our "once in a lifetime" 25th Anniversary Vows Renewal Ceremony at the Hilton Garden Inn last Saturday and we had an AMAZING event thanks to the staff, led by Catering Manager Mary Hager (she is wonderful to work with!). The entire staff was impeccable with every detail covered -- we didn't have to do a thing. And our Wave Crest ballroom was so beautiful. The food was truly fabulous -- there wasn't a morsel left. The toilet bowl top was in bad shape and needed to be replaced; charging a parking fee of $12 for open onsite parking with no security is unacceptable. Finally, the ocean view from the ground floor ocean view room is very iffy. Paying extra for that view is not worth it at all. The front desk staff was very helpful but the male staff serving during breakfast was very inattentive. We had to ask for silverware, water or anything else. Booked on Hilton.com a beach view room. Paid extra for this. When I arrive they put me in a twin bed room with a view of the freeway. I complained and was able to get a king but not with a beach view as those where sold out. Had I known that I would have stayed elsewhere. They did refund the difference but the damage was done.

A little outdated but very clean and Friendly service. I have 2 kids ages 3 & 5 the walk to the beach was extremely unpleasant. It's technically "beach front" but u are on top of a steep cliff. I would recommend you stay elsewhere and pay for parking closer to the beach since at this hotel I think it was $12 a night for parking. We went to Lego Land and around this hotel there isn't really a lot else to do. Shopping and eating is about a 10 minute drive away. Wouldn't recommend this hotel.

This was my fifth stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad Beach since 2000. This hotel never disappoints. With the Hilton HHonors app, you can check in AND choose your own room, which is awesome. We switched hotels to be closer to the beach, had no clue the beach is down a cliff so you can't walk/wheelchair it down to the beach. It was noisy and I wear ear plugs! The staff was nice the hotel needs some renovations in the bathroom. They charge for parking which is crazy when your paying big bucks for the hotel and being handicap should make a difference. I have stayed here twice and enjoyed each stay. I like the location, close to freeway but far enough away not to hear it. It's great to stay by the beach. The breakfast is too expensive, unless Gold or higher than it is free, which is true of all Hilton Garden Inns. Seems popular with families, which is fine but it can get noisy in the pool area.

This hotel is situated right alongside the Carlsbad beach. Great location, but the hotel feels a little tired now. The rooms were clean, but things like trim in the corners and carpet are needing some attention. Breakfast is great, the omlette chef works hard and deserves some more support from management...he is overworked compared to most that work at the property. I have rated this hotel as ok, because it is just that. There is nothing great or above average about this hotel. It is across the street from the ocean, but with no ocean view room, the beach is only accessible by climbing down a 50-75' cliff, which is not recommended. I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn for only one night but I would definitely return. It has a great location across the street from the ocean. Jacuzzi was nice. Breakfast buffet was good. Finding the room was confusing with multiple entrances from outside. I didn't have any idea which one to go in to enter near my room. Room was clean and nicely appointed. Good value for money.

We totally enjoyed our stay here. Every one was really nice and the place was VERY clean. We walked into the main area of Carlsbad from the hotel...it was a beautiful ocean-view stroll...took about 15 minutes.

Always a nice hotel to stay in. However, this time there was a $12.00 per night parking fee tacked on the bill as well as various other state and city taxes and a beach clean-up expense. This hotel is not in a down-town core with limited parking space. It was disappointing as we have had great stays there in the past.

This is a very good hotel in an excellent location. There were no issues while staying here. The check in/out experience was great, my room was clean. The service at the restaurant was just a little slow but overall a good experience.

The hotel is perfectly located across the street from the beach. Just south of the village of Carlsbad. Great omelettes for breakfast. The wines could be a little better, but you can't beat the location. Also, the pool area is quite nice.

The property is not new, but is well kept. Staff is super friendly and it is located across the street from the beachfront. Pool, jacuzzi, large rooms, nice internet service. We tried to order room service on a Sunday night and it was already closed, but the staff from the Lounge Bar were kind enough to prepare us dinner. Definitely a must if you are in the area.

This Garden Inn is the quaintest hotel in the perfect location! Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast, bar and amenities get a thumbs up! You can't do much better than waking up across from the ocean!

The hotel is clean and well worth the cost for the location of the hotel. It is right down the street from Carlsbad, CA - a town for tourism and generally fun things to do and see. Highly recommend the hotel. Close to the 5 as well.

True to the name this Garden Inn has lots of garden area and is just across the road from the beach (although the cliff there is crumbling and dangerous!). The staff are very helpful - we were there to do a demonstration and setting up was a challenge but there was lots of help available. It's not brand new but comfortable and reasonable - deserves a good rating.

Very helpful receptionist, love, love, love her. Great location and I can't ask for more. Fitness center is very small and should be bigger. No complimentary breakfast buffet and happy hour, I was spoiled by Embassy suites but overall great stay.

Enjoyable place to stay. Would stay here again. We came for a friends wedding down the street and the staff had a gift bag ready for us from the couple. The breakfast was great both days and the staff there was awesome. They were attentive and friendly.

Beautiful hotel right across the street from the beach. Amazing view from our room. Check-in was quick and easy. Wish we didn't have to pay for parking but I guess it wasn't too expensive ($12.00). The bartender was a little slow in getting us our check but the drinks were tasty.

We had a very pleasant stay. The room was roomy & clean. We especially liked the ocean view except we would have really enjoyed a balcony. We also enjoyed the pool. The hotel is nicely located so it was easy heading into Carlsbad village or over to Encinitas. Overall this hotel made our weekend stay fun!

I had the absolute pleasure of getting to stay in your hotel from 08SEPT2016 until 01OCT2016. As a Diamond Member, I have stayed at numerous Hilton properties, but the hospitality and the amazing service I received at the Hilton Garden Inn, Carlsbad location was above and beyond any service that I have received at any hotel worldwide. It started when I arrived early and Barbra made my room a priority for housekeeping to ensure I could get into my room even though I was there three hours before c... Read more

This hotel was excellent. It isn't a brand new hotel, but it is extremely clean and well kept. The linens were always fresh and crisp. The hotel is quiet and you can't beat the location. It was really easy to get on and off the interstate from the hotel or just cruise up and down the beach. It is probably 2-2.5 miles to downtown Carlsbad which has good restaurants. I would not hesitate to stay here again for business or pleasure.

I have attended MANY conferences during my professional career and I have never been to ANY conference where the hotel did not provide a coffee/tea break. When we asked for coffee we were treated rudely. We purchased meals for around 100 people and one would think that for the price my company paid for the rooms, conference room rental, and 3 catered meals that the hotel cold provide coffee and tea. The conference area bathrooms were never cleaned and water, soap, and paper towels littered th... Read more

I expected more from a Hilton, especially this location in Carlsbad. The rooms were clean but ocean view rooms not worth the upgrade. There are no balconies to enjoy the view and if you open the slider, all you get is traffic noise.

Very quiet room and place, no street noise, nor night traffic. Bed was very comfortable. Near by there was a train track, Amtrak, Coasters, and I did not hear them go by. The coffee they supplied in the room was not enough, and not many choices to pick from, and only two creamers. I would stay there in the future, and use it for pleasure, because it was business, I did not have the time nor the opportunity to use the restaurant, which looked inviting, and did not use the pool or spa, and did ... It is on the beach, though you must cross a six-lane dual carriageway (divided highway for US readers) to get to it. Fortunately there are traffic lights... We had a quiet, comfortable night. The room was well equipped and nicely decorated. The bar and restaurant are perfectly adequate. Only the fact that the door keys stopped working before breakfast (perhaps the computer getting over-enthusiastic and checking us out before we actually left) made the visit less than smooth.

I arrived it was looking good but after I left for the day I returned to see my room wasn't clean I call but no one answered and I had to go all the way to front desk to tell them. In the morning at breakfast the waiter was bushing to eat and it wasn't even full. I really hope you pay more attention.

We chose this hotel because it was close to where we were getting together with family and we had stayed at Hilton Garden Inns before. This location is by far our favorite.
