We stayed in the hotel portion of the property for 2 nights and thought the furnishings were a little worn. Then we moved to the time share unit and thought it was much nicer. It was equipped with everything we needed. There is a variety of grocery stores within a short distance. If you are only adults, request a unit away from the kiddy pool - it was busy and noisy!

Just stayed here yesterday, very close to Legoland, literally less 10 minutes walk. The resort was very clean. The room was pleasantly great. Had a sink, some plates and cups and bowls. Adult swimming pool and a kids pool which was great for my 12 year old boy and I to swim and play. Will definitely stay here again.

Was very impressed by the warmth, friendliness and helpfulness of the front desk staff. Good first impressions matter and we appreciated their sincere smiles, attentiveness and congeniality when we arrived and throughout our one-week stay. A+ Our one bedroom suite was very spacious. We had a view of the distant ocean and could see the sunsets from our balcony. We enjoyed the convenience of using the kitchen to cook meals in our unit. Our recent stay at the Pacific Palisades was wonderful! As a busy family, it is difficult to coordinate everyone's schedule, so finding a place to keep everyone happy and together is priority one! This resort is ideally-located near the beach and great places to visit and dine, it is well-maintained, and the setting is beautiful for strolling and reconnecting with loved ones. Thank you for a memorable stay!

Each May we organize a reunion using our villa as a base for visiting, swimming, bbqing, etc. Always pleased with how Grand Pacific Palisades meets our needs and remains a 5 star resort through the years. I wasn't impressed. it's billed as a "resort" but it's a typical hotel room and a lower-end one at that. For instance, the closet had the kind of hangars without a hook, where you can take it off, but the "ring" remains on the bar and you have to - for lack of a better term - "thread" the hangar back onto the ring. These are the kinds of hangars you find in a motel where they don't want you to steal them. That does not say "resort" to me. Resorts also normally have slippers and robes. None t... Read more

We stayed at this hotel twice, first when it first opened, and then again a few years ago. The best thing you can do for your family. It is a close as the Legoland parking lot. You can go out of the park and go hang out at your hotel and refresh yourself and then go back. If you have little ones, they can take a nap, then head back. The only downside of this hotel is that there is no real room service available. Basically you dial room service and are connected to Karl Strauss. Who then deliver you food "to-go". From the moment we walked into the lobby, we knew it was going to be a great get-away for us. We were promptly registered and in our room within minutes. It had a great view of the pool, BBQ area, and playground for children. We had to change rooms to meet certain personal needs, so we spoke with Antonia at the reception area. She quickly made arrangements for us to move. It was a beautiful room with a view of the coast. There was a walkway for guests to stroll and enjoy the beautiful ocean ... Read more

we did a timeshare exchange and stayed here for a week the staff was very friendly and very helpful, making our stay a great experience we stayed in a one bedroom and the kitchen was well equipped Costco is literally across the street and we bought some steaks there and cooked them on the BBQ. The BBQ were busy, as others had the same idea we also went to Trader Joe's for supplies (more reasonably sized portions), which is up the road, less than 5 minutes away the outlet mall is also just d... Wow is all I can say for this resort. I have stayed at many other resorts in the northern San Diego area as a quick getaway from my busy life in LA, but this tops them all. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Housekeeping left my room impeccable and Stephan from the front desk went above and beyond, and even recommended a great restaurant in the area for my friends and I to try. I definitely will not be trying out any other resorts when I'm in the need for a north county vacation. Thank you fo... Read more

Stayed 4 nights at the resort. Very nice resort. We utilized the adult pool for relaxation and a great view. They have cabanas which are first come first serve. They also have a family pool with a kiddy play area. Both pools have a large jacuzzi. There are numerous activities geared for families with children but there are a few adult activities. Rooms are clean and nicely furnished. We arrived at 3 pm and received an early check in. Staff were very helpful. Great location for visiting ... Read more

Our visit this year earned an easy '5 stars'. After having some issues last year upon check in, room location, and then some fees we were misinformed about, we were offered an opportunity to give the resort another chance in hopes they could make it right. We are so thankful we accepted that offer and our experience this year was amazing and earned the resort an easy 5 star rating from us. After a long day of travelling from Oregon, we arrived at the resort to find our room ready and available f... Read more

Last week I was down in Carlsbad visiting my lovely sister-in-law and my family decided to stay at the Grand Pacific Palisades. Everything was absolutely wonderful! The rooms were beautiful, the scenery was to die for, and the food was delicious! I also loved how close the hotel was to the beach! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a family-oriented stay. As a mother of four, my kids always take priority, but at the same time I love myself a relaxing vacation. The Pacific P... Read more

We are currently staying at this hotel. We chose it because the price was right and it's across the street from Legoland. Staff at check in were very nice. The room is a good size with a wet bar and large bathroom. Unfortunately it overlooks the entrance and we have to hear the music outside. We had supper at Karl Strauss last night and it was fantastic. Today we left at 9 and returned for our daughter to nap at 3. They weren't able to get our room cleaned in those 6 hours so I put the privacy s... Read more

Special shout out to Steve the shuttle driver who is more like a tour guide. He gave us very good suggestions for restaurants and tourist attractions in Carlsbad. Mona was very charming and help us plan our trip to San Diego.

This is probably the best trip I have ever decided to take. Not only was the room was well-designed with a beautiful view, the service was incredible. Front Desk, Concierge, and Shuttle Service was up to par and made my experience a memorable one. Front Desk welcomed me with an agenda (which I totally loved) and made check-in a breeze. Concierge gave me great suggestions about where to eat and venture off to. Steve the Shuttle Driver gave me great tips to navigate my trip effectively and also su... Read more

Pulling into the resort after a nine hour drive from San Jose, California (with two stops along the way) was great a relief. We were given a wonderful two bedroom suite with an ocean view. There was plenty of space for all five of us. The first day we took it easy, by doing some grocery shopping and cooking till about noon. It was less than hours drive to downtown San Diego in the afternoon. Spend time at the waterfront and had dinner at Turmeric Thai Kitchen in La Jolla on the way back. Over th... Read more
