We stayed here overnight to attend my nephews graduation at SJ Universtiy. When we arrived, the staff were very helpful, friendly and even got us a "quiet" room as I am a light sleeper. The bed was very comfortable, the room quiet. As a result, I had a very good nights sleep. Thats really all that matters to me!

Great check-in experience with friendly staff. Room was very comfortable and quiet. Best part was the extremely comfortable bed. Probably the nicest of any hotel I've recently been to and wish I had the same bed at home! Location of the hotel is great. Lots of nearby restaurants and easy access to freeways/airport.

On business. Missed my first flight out of Miami, as result also missed my connecting to San Jose. After the people at American were nice enough to rebook both flights, landed in San Jose 13 hours later. Tired, grumpy and hungry (not a good thing for me or anybody else) I arrived at the Doubletree on Prunetree and Bascom thinking the worst and hoping for anything. This was not a good experience and I do not recommend anyone staying here. We did not have a good experience staying at this hotel. Biggest complaint - We stayed in a junior suite, the best room that they have. The room that we had was overlooking the pool and on top of the restaurant. It was super noisy from pool noise and the restaurant throwing out bottles into the dumpsters. But the worst was the restaurant's kitchen fan that ran up the wall that our bed was on. The rooms are nice but the pool is very loud until 10pm at night so request a room not near the pool unless you aren't going to be in your room much during the day. Room was clean and modern. WiFi in room 225 was fast enough for a WewbEx video conference. I like the wireless key option. I didn't use the pool or fitness center as I was in an arm cast, so I can't comment on them. Room service was excellent and the staff were friendly. Elevators are woefully slow, especially for a three story building. Chloe at the front desk was especially engaging and friendly. The walking proximity to shops and restaurants was especially nice.

Hotel is charging premium prices for rooms not yet renovated; first floor hallway looks terrible and is still under construction. Do not accept a first floor room unless you want to party - drunk wedding-goers abound on the weekends (1st floor rooms are like 10 steps from the bar). I'm sure the hotel will jack up the prices even more once renovations are complete. Customer service is indifferent - obviously they don't need new customers. Not worth the $$.
