This hotel has a major problem with its A/C and they will not tell you the truth about it. We had to change rooms 3 times to find one with A/C. They told us and others many stories...this room has good A/C, the A/C comes on at 8AM, we've had problems with the A/C in this room, etc. The real fact is that their A/C system for the hotel doesn't work properly and hasn't worked for sometime. Read other similar reviews. The sliding doors in the rooms are in very poor condition and hard to open. So no ... Read more

Friendly staff and nice breakfast but the rooms are very outdated, small bathroom and uncomfortable beds with very flat pillows. Pull out couch was so uncomfortable with springs poking you in the back! Also our room was not very clean with food under our bed and dusty. Maybe I'm spoiled, but I'll take staying at Delano in Las Vegas where the suites are roomy, updated, and a huge main bathroom with tub and separate shower and a 2nd powder room. This Embassy Suites in Burlingame was definitely ... Read more

We stayed at this Embassy Suites while visiting Maker Faire in San Mateo. We generally like Embassy Suites for its free breakfasts--saves a lot of money, time, and hassle, I think, when travelling with a family--and the suites give more room to spread out, important if you're with little ones. We've stayed at this hotel previously, and always had a pleasant stay. Sometimes parking in the hotel lot can be tough. The hotel is situated on the bay and there's only so much space for a parking lot... Read more

Stayed for two nights with my family on a weekend. The property is well placed, right next to the bay, with a lot of open & green areas around. The view is beautiful & serene in the morning, speciously if the room is bay facing. The hotel provides free parking space which is an additional plus in parking scarce city of SF. Rooms are designed on suite pattern, very specious, well appointed & perfectly clean. Breakfast is nice & in a nice gesture they serve complimentary drinks between 5 PM to 7... Read more

We stayed in a waterfront room on the 4th floor. The view of the water from our room was breathtaking. We could see SF city and the kids (7 & 3) enjoyed watching the airplanes landing and taking off on the runway. The nice view also made us feel like we were on a cruise ship again. We could hear the loud airplanes at bedtime when it was quiet but it didn't bother us because we fell sound asleep right away on our very comfortable bed. The pool was nice and clean. We came the night before our long flight to Europe. The shuttle to the airport and connection with BART was seamless. The shuttle driver helped us to make sure we had the right hotel. The property is lovely - beautiful enclosed lobby open to the top floor with trees growing inside and koi ponds. The inside pool is a little small but fun with large plants and a huge flamingo mural. We spent a couple of nights before Memorial Day. This hotel is right on the bay (no street between you and the water). It is a easy on and off the freeway, just south of the airport. Our room was on the 8th floor and bay side. The bedroom had a french balcony overlooking the SF bay. It was great leaving the door open and getting the fresh air in the suite. Arrived late at night. Pulled out the sofa bed for one of my kids to sleep on and saw some bloody sheets...kind of gross and shows lack of attention to detail. Called the front desk and 15 min. later, someone came to change the sheets. A/C was super noisy. Peeling paint on the bathroom ceiling. At breakfast, there was a lack of service to clean tables. So, got our buffet breakfasts, but had to bus a dirty table to be able to sit down. Was kind of grossed out by the whole thing.

We paid premium room rates, and received ordinary treatment. the staff seemed to be totally unconcerned about helping with anything. I imagine that is a result of catering to people coming to and from the airport. I've always enjoyed Embassy Suites in the past. this served our purpose, but at a high cost. When are hotels going to stop having hidden costs like parking?

Every time we visit San Fran we stay outside of the city to save some money on hotels. This was the first time we stayed at the Embassy Suites and thoroughly enjoyed the visit. It is right off the 101 so very convenient in getting downtown. my trips averaged around 20-25 mins. The hotel itself has an AWESOM breakfast. Air conditioning is controlled by Hotel and you can't set your individual temperature in your room (you will burn up post shower in this hotel). Housekeeping is lacking for details. Front desk staff, very short and not welcoming experience. Not your ordinary Embassy Suites experience. Our room was average, we choose Embassy Suites because of the layout for a family of five..however, this one has the bathroom in the bedroom so you wake everyone up everytime you go the bathroom. Furthermore, there was a leak that kept the carpet soaked. They did accommodate our request to be moved, however, in the process of their staff moving us, a wallet went missing. This beautiful hotel is right on the water with the most breathtaking view! Right alongside the water is a running/walking path. The front desk staff was extremely helpful. The room was clean and cozy. Their complimentary breakfast was amazing ! The cook to order chefs were amazing . One lady in particular, I believe her name was Amparo, was phenomenal and so sweet ! Located right off the freeway it is in good proximity to shopping and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.

We spent our first few nights downtown and experienced the hustle and bustle of the city. The second half of our stay was spent here at the Embassy. The hotel is conveniently located near AP terminals. Not very many choices for dining and shopping. Bay view is magnificent and we enjoyed leisurely morning and evening walks. Staff is great. Guest rooms need renovation; but provide the basic amenities. Overall, we were pleased.

The rooms and bedding were spotlessly clean and fresh. The suites afforded comfort and privacy for our party of four. The staff was gracious, warm and relentless about great, quick service. The breakfast was by far the best of any hotel breakfast we've ever had. It was so nice to return from a day of sightseeing and have delicious sangria and snacks waiting for us.

We always like to overnight near the airport rather than rushing from downtown for our flight. We've stayed here several times. This visit was very strange. We received an upgrade to a harbor view, but when we arrived in the suite, there was already a suitcase there. In this day and age, this is disconcerting. Hotel staff removed the bag. As it turned out, it belonged to an early arrival that had the same name. The hotel staff were simply trying to deliver the other guest's bag, an honest mistak... Read more

Perhaps a bay view would have raised my rating, but we needed to check in early--so we couldn't be picky. The TV in the bedroom didn't work, and we weren't staying long enough to hassle with complaining about it. They didn't charge for early check-in, but they do charge for parking.

Wow, where do I begin? Let's suppose you walk into your local pharmacy and buy a $10 bottle of pills. You've turned on bank alerts for your credit card, so after you walk out of the store you get an email that tells you you've just spent $20 at the store. So you go back and ask for an explanation. They tell you that you might have wanted something else while you were in the store so they charged you extra, but don't worry, they will give you a full refund of the unused amount next week.
