We had a horrible experience. The owner is rude. The room was dirty. It was noisy. Breakfast was just mild and cereal. We had bugs on our pillows. It was such an awful experience we ended up paying without staying. if you do decide to go here ask to see the room before paying!

I believe that this is the first one-star rating I've ever given. If there was a 'zero' I would rate just that. The motel is run down, noisy and grubby. Hairs and cracks in the shower but I felt compelled to clean up after staying there. Staff exceptionally RUDE. Breakfast stale. All in all, you'd be better off sleeping in your car rather than this hovel.

Had bed bugs crawling all around the pillows, one filled with blood (either from me or someone in my family). The location is good, but you're probably traveling if you're crossing through Bishop, and the last thing you need is some parasitical bug eating you throughout the night. I'll upload some photos to show the little bastards. Oh, and the wifi is weak and off/on.

Stayed here two nights, with an all day visit to Mazanar which lies about 50 miles to the south in between. It is quiet, and yet only a few blocks from the main drag, a visit to which will net you access to several restaurants, coffee shops, and a microbrewery or two, and if you are so inclined, book stores and climbing/outdoor supply shops. There is so much to do around Bishop I wouldn't know where to begin, so that is an exploration I will have to leave up to the reader.

I've stayed at the Mountain View Motel for over 20 years and through three owners. It is not a four star venue but it is clean, recently decorated and painted and has always provided a place that was reasonable when I was there for Mule Days or fly fishing. It is located off the beaten track by about two blocks. Plenty of parking and they have a complimentary breakfast and coffee in the AM. Swimming pool as well. Popular with fly fishermen and rock climbers. Always greeted like family when... Read more

We checked into the Mountain View on Saturday June 25th 2016. Upon arrival I asked the girl working the desk to please put us in a quiet location as I had dealt with a couple of nights on our trip out west with loud, inconsiderate people in other rooms and was exhausted. She put us I believe in 115 or 116 and assured us it would be very quiet and no one would be above us. I understand that older motels can have very thin walls. We are in the room for 20 minutes and the remote to the tv does not ... Read more

This is a fairly shabby motel that shows plenty of wear and some neglect (e.g. piles of cigarette butts in parking lot). Even for one of the cheapest motels in Bishop, it's expensive. Some shady characters around, too. Nevertheless, the beds are great, the rooms spotless, free wifi (a little spotty), fridge in room, so for us, it was adequate. Front desk staff are great.

This place was a little outdated, but very clean and the managers are super friendly. Great for the price we paid and it has a pool. Breaksfast was decent lots of muffins and cereals all in all I would stay there again.

No hot water, Not very clean, beds were totally uncomfortable. One of the worst we've ever stayed. We were next door to the laundry room, all we heard were washers and dryers running all night!!! We booked for 2 nights, but only stayed one, didn't think we could handle another night like the previous one.. The continental breakfast was a joke, It started at 7, we went there right at 7. There was cornflakes, milk, juice and a few miniature muffins or bread to make toast. Whoopee! Was told our ro... Read more

I really stayed here before a few days hiking in the mountains. There are loads of motels in Bishop, so not sure I'd rate this highly on my list of places to come back to. The guy at the counter was really nice and helpful, but that's about it. The motel appears riddled with concrete cancer with rendering peeling and falling off all over the place. The curtains in my room at moth holes, as did the bed cover. This is a pretty average motel.

I booked this motel the afternoon of my stay through booking.com, as I was traveling home and knew I would need to stop for the night around Bishop. The price was decent (though there were lower prices listed at other hotels--the reviews of those places steered me away) and the reviews were more favorable than not, so I took a chance. The office was closed when I arrived just after 8pm, but someone who was sitting on the stoop called someone to have them come check me in. They were very young (e... Read more

I stayed here while visiting family on a fishing trip. The front office was very sweet, a mother and daughter I'm guessing....they were pretty quick to check me in. When I got into the room I noticed it was a little small, some dull out dated art work.. but in all very clean. I would call it a "cozy" room, but for $70.00 it was fair. The breakfast was basic, doughnuts, oatmeal, cereal, toast and such. Had a pool, although I didn't go swimming, the wifi seemed to have best connection there. I wou... Read more

We were recommended to stay here half way between San Fran and Vegas. Town was lovely with beautiful views of mountains. We only ate in Denny's as everything else was shut by the time we arrived. This stay was booked last minute on day of arrival and by the time we arrived we'd been travelling for 11 hours. The office staff were super friendly and we got checked in. The room is outdated, and dark with poor WIFI. However the bed was comfy and the shower was hot and the room was clean. A very welc... Read more
