"I had a wonderful stay at the Crescent for a long weekend with my daughter. First time we stayed at a small hotel like this and we loved it. The staff was wonderful and so accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was delicious. The location was great...walking distance to restaurants and shopping. I was so wonderfully surprised by my choice. Friends recommended we stay downtown at one of the bigger hotels but picked Crescent mostly by price. But after seeing the downtown area was so happy by our choice. Highly recommended. Would love to go back after they finish renovating."

Delightful in every way! Up-graded to larger room ( King ) as some rooms quite tight. Staff were VERY friendly, helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was great and the terrace setting very pleasant. A wonderful location --- short walk to shops. restaurants & the beautiful Beverly Hills Library. I would return here in a heartbeat!"

"I was so disappointed in the Crescent Beverly Hills. Filthy carpeting, odd smell masked by candles burning in hallway; cold, uninviting decor, tiny rooms, paper cups for coffee...what a joke. Plus $28 to park."

"Came here for one night and the staff was very friendly! Ran out of clean towels in the morning and they were quick quick quick to bring new ones and also very quick to bring an iron and iron board. Would definitely stay here again. The hotel was small, and so are the rooms, but then again it is a boutique hotel. Also, the rooms were clean and modern. Very pretty hotel, with a nice lounging area to hang out. Felt like I was at home. It is very close to the shopping area- Rodeo Drive--- and also very close to some great places to eat! Would come back here again, especially because it was so affordable, yet so great compared to everything else."

"Upside: The location is terrific...close walking distance to nice restaurants, shopping, and sightseeing (Rodeo Drive). The staff was excellent - very attentive, accommodating, and friendly. Highly recommend ordering breakfast, (great omelets), and/or meeting up with friends or family in the evening for drinks/conversation on the patio. We were surprised at how quiet the street located in front of the hotel is, and the ambiance for visiting is perfect. Downside: Overnight parking is expensive. If you know European hotel room-size experiences, this is the same feeling, (doesn't bother us, as it's very clean). Noise could be a problem if you get a noisy hotel room neighbor."

"My partner and I were in the process of relocating from San Francisco to San Diego and decided to try this place out as our break in driving. We've visited and stayed in Beverly Hills before in different hotels but felt, since this was just for a 'pit stop', that this would serve our needs. And with that preface, it did. If you are either looking for a place to rest your head at night and NOT ooking for luxury or need a stop over, this is the place. First off the cheap laminate flooring they used on our floor, the first floor, made so much noise when you walked you would think the sub-floor was starting to rot and you'd fall right through. Our room was small with the same noisy floors and just as noisy bed. We are both short (5'4' and 5'5') but yet we both managed to hit our heads on the wall mounted TV. The shower didn't seem to have an anti-scalding stop so we both burned our hands when turning on and testing the water temps. The room design felt like a warden was going to do a bed check before we turned in. It's a good thing we are relatively early risers cause the noisy trash truck would not have been the best alarm clock. In addition, the hotel next door was doing exterior work so after the trash truck left the noise of their workers started. The location and service were the hotel's saving graces for us."

"Stayed here for two nights and it was a great stay. Had just arrived after a long flight from the UK and it was a great base for exploring Beverly Hills and LA- we got a bus tour around LA and there was a stop nearby to the hotel. Also within walking distance of Rodeo Drive. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel does have valet parking but as most places in California seem to charge for parking, this was not a huge issue. Breakfast was nice also, not huge or a great variety but did the trick. I would recommend a stay at this hotel- rooms are smallish but the hotel overall is quite personal and cute!"

John from Novato, CA
"We checked in for two nights, and everything looked like it was going to be great. The Hotel is cool-Art Deco, very clean, and room looked great. The room could have used a chair, the platform bed lacked real support. However, the neighborhood is beautiful. The location is very convenient to Beverly Hills shopping, Rodeo Drive and so many restaurants. OK, the valet parking only was $28 a night, but the room was only $129, so what the heck. Then the place started to lose its luster. They put us in room 220, right above the bar, and you heard music and bar noise until well after midnight. We didn't feel much like moving in the middle of the night, and are relatively heavy sleepers, so we tolerated it. We shouldn't have. The next morning we were awakened by even more music (at least this time it was Frank Sinatra). The continental breakfast consisted of a thermos of coffee, another for hot water, and 3 bite size dry pastries on a cake stand, surrounded by dirty dishes. See photo. We left for the day and returned in the late afternoon- housekeeping had not been to our room. We later left for dinner, and returned later that evening, still no housekeeping. But the situation was worse. The bar down stairs was very busy and the heavy beat of the music traveled throughout the hotel. It was loud. No room could have been spared. Ours of course wasn't, directly over the bar. It went on well after midnight, and I had to go down and confront this situation. The night manager could only offer to turn down the music a bit. No offer of another room. The noise went on even later. The next morning we checked out and were asked the classic "How was your stay.... I said it was horrible, and explained why. He went further to explain that I should have asked for another room earlier. How did this become my fault? They knew there was going to be a noisy party, I didn't. We just left. Later that day we were called and they did comp one night. But that didn't change the fact that they irresponsible and ruined my weekend, and to them it was all my fault. What did I learn? DO NOT STAY HERE."

"this was our 2nd stay and will be our last. The room we had was a closet with a bed. We could hear every noise and must have been staying near a staff work room based on the noises we heard throughout our stay. The garbage truck came in the early morning and must have stayed to pick up trash for about 15 minutes. The worst part of all was the room itself! SO tiny, spartan, noisy, and uncomfortable."

"It was my birthday night. A fact I had left for the hotel staff. I don't know if all their rooms are small as prison cells and painted about as friendly, but ours was. They certainly made no effort to do anything special. There was only room for the bed and the TV was cheap and worked poorly. They practically insist you pay a $25.00 valet fee for the night. There are several parking structures in the nearby area for MUCH cheaper. We live down the street and were just trying for something a little special, so rather than stay there, we just went home."

"At first glance it seemed too small and cold, but the modern feel, friendliness, and extended living area grew on me. Small room and bath was comfortable, clean, and quiet. Really enjoyed the two sided fireplace where we played card games with our own bottle of wine on the patio - so cozy and comfortable like our own front porch. We walked around the corner to main area of Beverly Hills and found a great Italian Restaurant that accepted our less formal clothing...great prices, food, and drinks. Felt perfect! In the morning the organic coffee was excellent and the pastries unique. On Sunday the Farmer's Market is close by - fantastic. The only negative is the expensive valet parking, but car arrived promptly. We will use it again!"

"The Crescent is in a perfect location and the staff was great. The valet parking was an added bonus. We were able to walk to Rodeo Drive, Spago, and Nic's. Our favorite part of the hotel was the lounge area, heated with a fire pit and heaters. We started off our date night with the most delicious moscow mule cocktail from the bar and sat outside on the deck by the firepit. It was so romantic and really made our night. We have recommended it to our friends and will be staying here every time we come to Beverly Hills."

"Great stay at the Crescent in Beverly Hills for it's price.
The room was small yet very comfortable, cozy and clean.
The staff were friendly and the breakfast served were good.
Walking distance to all the good places to be in
Beverly Hills.
Things to know, parking is $30. No street parking. Misleading
Information to gym access since it's not free yet available for the guest.
Gym access will cost you $25.
As for the whole experience of a night in the town, most definitely
Will recommend and come back."

I liked this little hotel very much. Its location happened to be extremely convenient for me for this particular trip -- just a few very short blocks from the heart of Beverly Hills. Great shops, darling restaurants nearby, etc. My two complaints are:
1) the lighting is atrocious, both in the room (heaven help you if you are trying to put on makeup) and in the hallways; and 2) there is no full-length mirror. Otherwise perfect for me."

"I thought the hotel would be convenient because i went to LA to see my Doctors, my hairdresser etc... In the picture, the room looked good... I must say, to STAY IN THIS HOTEL WAS A NIGHTMARE !!!!!!!!! THE ROOMS ARE SO SMALL, THE BATHROOMS YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE ENOUGH SPACE TO TAKE A SHOWER, IT WAS I THINK JUST A CLOSET FOR A TOILET AND THEY ADDED A SHOWER... OUR AIR CONDITIONING WAS TURNED OFF BUT THE VENT MADE A BIG NOISE ALL NIGHT LONG, WE COULDN'T SLEEP AT ALL EVEN WITH EARPLUG...
THE BREAKFAST WAS DISGUSTING, AND IT GOES ON AND ON... I STAYED THERE WITH A FRIEND WHO CAME FROM PARIS, SHE WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED... I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS HOTEL AND WILL TELL EVERYBODY HOW BAD IT WAS FOR US...
I FEEL LIKE FIGHTING THE COST OF THE ROOM WITH MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY... OUR STAY THERE WAS REALLY A DISASTER"

"i was very displeased . i checked in the room was the size of a postage stamp .
like 10x10 . they called it an patete queen . bookit mentioned no size of the room . if they disribed it as a patete queen . i would never had gone their .
i told the staff the room was really to small for my likeing . they did not even offer to ungrade me for a cost to a room somewhate larger . they just said that is the deal with bookit.com . for now on i will always want a size of the room .
like vegas sites , they always offer the size of room . also the shower water , you could not get cold water ajusted . also you are in the very far rear of the hotel where all the noise is . the bathroom door would not stay open unless you put a shoe at the base to hold it open . middle of the night it closed alittle and i walked right into it . thank god . i ws not cut ."

"We had a fantastic stay at the Crescent. It's the best sort of boutique hotel - the rooms aren't big, but you get a comfy bed, nice decor, and there is a beautiful lounge/bar/patio area. The staff was super-friendly and we loved having a cocktail at the bar after dinner (it seems to be one of BH's few night spots). We could walk everywhere in Beverly Hills, which was great, and you're just a few blocks from Santa Monica Blvd if you want to head anywhere else. And I have to reiterate: the bed is really comfortable. I would absolutely stay here again, it was a great find!"

"My mom & I attended a fundraiser for Multiple Myeloma that Ray Romano puts on each year so my mom & I wanted to stay in town. Although the rooms are beyond tiny; very European, the hotel staff was very nice, hotel was very clean and steps away from Rodeo Dr. Everything about it was convenient! We didn't plan to spend a lot of time in the room so it wasn't an issue. I have treatments & Dr appts at Cedars Cancer Center so if I have a late afternoon appt we will be coming back to the Crescent instead of driving home afterwards."

"I brought my mom to LA for a girl's weekend on her Birthday and was looking to stay close to Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. The Crescent was a perfect location within walking distance to shops and food.
I thought parking was pricey-although I realized you must pay to park everywhere in LA. The hotel valet parks your car directly across the street for $28/24 hours and if you take your car to the same parking garage it's $20/24 hours. You will save a little money and won't have to tip each time you want to run out.
I read the reviews prior to visiting and originally crossed Crescent off my list of options but returned to it later upon finding a pretty good deal online. The main theme I read in the reviews is the hotel is very noisy and since I am a very heavy sleeper I convinced myself it wouldn't bother me. Unfortunately, I was bothered. My room was on the second floor at the back of the building and I could hear a couple chatting as they filmed an interview on the patio in front of the lobby on the first floor. I could even make out words they were saying. I had thought it was a couple in the room next door it sounded so close. Then walked downstairs to find they were quite a distance away. I also had a very noisy neighbor come in very late in the morning and sounded like they were trying to get into my room. I almost got up to ask if they needed any help opening their door because the noise persisted. Then the tv ran loud and I could hear them unpacking.
The bathrooms and bedrooms are small, but that is expected with a boutique hotel. This boutique is simply a little older than I had imagined but had a simple charm. I loved the location but because of the noise, I will not be back and probably would not recommend this hotel to a friend.

"The hotel greatly surpassed my expectations. Because it was so reasonably priced in comparison to the hotel in Beverly Hills we usually stay at, I preparred myself not to be impressed. But we were! Great atmosphere, really great, friendly service, perfect location. I would go back anytime!"

"I really enjoyed the boutique hotel. I went on business. I got a room with hard wood floor. I will stay again. The service was impeccable. Thank you Crescent hotel. It is walking distance to all the action. LOVE IT!"

"I saw this deal shortly before the weekend arrived and took a chance for a Sunday night of a 3 day weekend. I was going to see a friend in LA and figured it might be fun to check out Beverly Hills for a reasonable price. My friend decided to come wtih me and we were really pleasantly suprised with the place. I mean really. We loved the decor of the place....it just had a really great vibe and we wanted to stay there and have a few drinks. We ended up returning from dinner and doing just that. The bartender was fun and made some great cocktails. The beds were comfortable ....morning coffee and pastries. Overall really fun experience and I think we'd probably go back even though we really don't have much to do in Beverly Hills!"

"Our 'queen' room was as big as a prison cell. You get a bed with one night table, a tiny closet with one drawer, and no desk or chair. The lighting was terrible - one lamp and ceiling bulb. We changed to a 'king' size room which was roomier, but no dresser - they put another portable closet with a drawer in at our request for a $35 upgrade. The bathroom was roomy, however, the shower (which had terrific force) was excellent, but it's on the same level as the cement floor (closed off by a curtain) so the entire bathroom floor got soaked, and we had to put towels all over to walk on it. On the plus side, the coffee and pastries in the morning were very good, and the staff was accomodating. I'd stay again for an overnight visit, but no longer! You get what you pay for!"

"The Good:
Great location, two blocks from the center of Rodeo Drive. Nearby dining. Close driving to Universal Studios and Other L.A. Attractions. Public Parking a block away that you can leave you car at overnight, there is no overnight parking allowed on city streets or else you will get a ticket for $60 (I confirmed this with a telephone call to the Beverly Hills Police Department). Nice pastries and coffee in the morning. Bed is futon like but very comfortable. The outside is attractive as well as the entrance.
The Bad:
As comfortable as the bed is, it is 'futon like' and hard to get in and out of because of the small space that is available in the room. The hallway is dark and it seemed that we were able to hear everything that was going on in the hallway, vey little noise insulation, walking talking sneezing - we heard it. It is an older wood framed building with little sound insulation. They try to charge you for EVERYTHING. Valet Parking is $28, but if you don't mind parking a block away near Wolfgang Puck's (a pleasant 1 block walk) you can get overnight parking for $5, no in and out and you have to get the car in the garage before midnight and out of the garage by 8 am or else they will charge you $6/hour. There is also adjacent meter parking for $1 per hour next to the hotel to get you things in and out of the car. The refrigerator can get loud at night - at least they give you a refrigerator though.
The Ugly:
The Beverly Hills Parking Enforcement Crew will ticket your car if you leave it on the street between 2 am and 6 am overnight. There are little signs as you enter the city that state this; however, you will not see these signs where you park or at the meter!!! Apparently, this would cause to much confusion OR the City thinks it would be sign pollution!?!?!? Whatever!!! Anyway, the Crescent takes full advantage of this and will tell you that you are better off using their valet services rather than paying the citation and they will not tell you about the $5 parking option located at the nearby Public Parking on Canon Drive between SMB and Brighton. Furthermore, it I got really upset because the Hotel advertises that the rate includes 'Access to Sports Club L.A.' - well apparently it is 3 miles away and 'Access' means you have to pay $25?!?!?! Management, can you please clarify what you mean or take this off your advertisement - it is very misleading. Luckily, I have a 24 hour fitness membership and jogged 1.5 miles to the one on Pico; however, I did learn that they charge $15 per hour to park at 24 hour fitness. I guess since there is 'Access' to a fitness center then this is their excuse for not having a gym and hot tub on site.
All in all, we had a pleasant stay and were able to navigate around the extra costs, but I am only satisfied because we got a somewhat decent rate at $120 per night and we were only there for two (2) nights - I would not want to be here for more than 5 nights. If we had to pay more that $150 I would say it is not worth it - go find another place that comes with parking and a gym for that rate."

"I was in town on business from a Sunday-Thursday and had the pleasure of staying at the Crescent Beverly Hills. The front counter staff were cordial, but I found the other staff; valet, bartender, morning bar mistress and others to be absolutely delightful. The hotel location is exceptional; close to everything! At times the bar area and lounge were lively, but never excessively noisy and things generally closed up early which was nice. We stayed on the first floor, and the only downfall is hearing people walk above. Otherwise, great stay, great experience, I will definitely be back."
