Me and my wife stayed here for one night, the low price attracted us and we must say that the room is worth it. The place doesn't serve breakfast, only coffee and tea in the morning, maybe that explains the low price. The staff is very friendly, lots of parking space and the motel is close to restaurants.

We spent a night here travelling from death valley. The location is right of the freeway, which makes it a little noisy. Also the room did not smell very fresh. It was clean though and the lady at reception was very friendly, so would recommend it.

The beds were incredibly hard and the shower was cold. The room smelled a little funny, not sure if it was moldy or urine. I need a hot shower in the morning, so i was pretty upset about the no hot water. Wifi was pretty slow as well.

First of all, I will say we have stayed in many Red Roof Inns and found them mostly satisfactory. In Bakersfield, our room was clean and large. No problems until we went to bed. The beds are incredibly hard---impossible to get a good night's sleep. Absolutely no give in the mattress---like sleeping on boards! After a horrible night's sleep---the garbage truck arrived at 5:30 AM---woke the entire motel up with horrendous noise crashing the dumpsters around! No breakfast, no coffee. We wil... Read more

Staff were nice. Based on room description, we believed we booked a room with a fridge and hair dryer only to find out upon arrival we had not. I was told I needed to have booked a superior room. I went by the description given, so I am not sure about that. The pool was great as was the air conditioning. The beds were very, very firm. There are plenty of nearby restaurants and it is very easy on/off Highway 99. The room needed to be cleaner. It was pretty dirty under the bed so do not drop a... Only stayed the one night thankfully! First let's start with the positives, front desk staff very friendly, but it's downhill from there I'm afraid! My room had a horrible odour on entry which I got used to slowly. The worst thing though was the cockroach I stood on at 3 am In the morning in bare feet, YUK ??? I know it was a cheap room and I wasn't expecting 5* for the money, however the hotel/room I stayed in the following night in Porterville was even cheaper, same * rating and a totally... Read more

My fianc├ę and I stayed here on our way to Las Vegas. The room itself was clean, fridge and microwave are a good thing to see (even though we didn't use em). My only real issue was the bed was pretty firm, but that's if I had to nitpick. The lady working the graveyard shift was very nice and helpful. Less than 80 bucks too! I would definitely stay again!

When traveling for business, I am usually on a budget so Red Roof is one of my choices. This hotel is an average open style motel which is typical for the Red Roof chain. However, the property appears to have been recently remodeled and its a fair price for the area. My room did not have a fridge or microwave (yet), but there was a place for both just not one in the room. First floor access is desirable as there is no elevator for the 2nd floor. Location is good located near a craft pub and... Read more

My family needed a place to rest while traveling to Magic Mtn. We decided to stay here. The motel was in a not so good area. However, the front office staff were beyond friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to accommodate our needs and took the time to hook up our son's gaming system. Very nice! The price was excellent.

Pros- Staff was very friendly, pool was nice, rooms were clean Cons- Grasshoppers coming in and staying in our room (11-15 of them through the whole stay) 3 roaches, hard mattress, no breakfast Front desk staff was helpful, but the grasshoppers kept entering our room when we opened the door or even when it was shut. It was like we were camping. However, only seen 2-3 roaches in bathtub. Area is close to freeway and food.

My family and I stopped off at Bakersfield as we went from las Vegas to Yosemite. We stayed at the Red Roof. Really great value for money, clean, well run, little motel. Coco the lady at reception couldnt have been sweeter, with time to make some local recommendations that proved to be great. We often stay at 'fancier' places - but got to say, for an overnight stop, makes we wonder why we dont just stay at great spots like this. Thanks

We were traveling from Texas to Northern California and stopped here. Very nice rooms and very friendly people in the front office. Not a lot of places for Bella to relieve herself but we managed OK. Very pet friendly.

Room reeked of chemicals (cleanser and/or pest control?), few long hairs found on sheets, 1?baby roach on curtains (searched everywhere and didn't see others), outside parking lot full of roaches after dark. Will avoid Red Roof Inns going forward

Nice motel, nothing too special. In direct vicinity of the highway and on our way to Death Valley. Very nice staff at the reception, rooms are spacious but nothing special. Aircon is a bit loud. Decent motel with clean rooms.

Driving from Las Vegas to San Fransisco after a day at work, I decided to split the difference and stop for the evening in Bakersfield. Chose the Red Roof Inn because of other reviews here on Tripadvisor. What a great website, eh? Anyway, it was very easy access from the freeway, a plus. Zena and Coco greeted me like an old friend and checked me in quickly. Fresh, spacious room with cold AC and comfortable king bed. Internet was fast and the flat screen tv sharp and clear. My room was upstair... Read more

Typical quality hotel from Red Roof. FYI: If you're debating whether to choose between a Red Roof Inn and the PLUS version, there's hardly any difference! - Rooms are very spacious, and the room and beds are very clean. They were even pre-cooled for us - Wood flooring instead of carpeting (means less dust in all rooms) - Staff appeared very friendly, even at 12 AM ;) - Swimming pool that even goes up to 8 feet - Unfortunately, breakfast is not available, but coffee and tea are at the front des... The front desk, the maid services, and the premium room were friendly and above expectations. As a mother, I am very focused on cleanliness of the overall place. The premium king sized rooms were a great option - I don't believe anywhere else had either wood/vinyl floors (which was a big factor in my choosing this location), so naturally Red Roof Inn was my favorite as I could clean the floors as well. The refrigerator, microwave, daily maid services were a great amenity. Since there are only a... Read more

Good front staff, good sound isolation (parking lot is loud, but rooms are not), new mattress, new flooring, newish bathroom, electrical system overhauled. all in all, a really good place on a budget, and not bad otherwise. They are short of parking, however.

We stayed there on June 6th, 2016 and the clerk was very nice and helpful. The room was very nice and clean. The price was very reasonable. The location was good with easy access to freeways and major roads. I would recommend this motel.

We were dusty, tired travelers and stopped in hoping for a room. Got a good rate (under $70) for a decent double queen room. It was clean and quiet. Only "complaint", not enough towels for two people. Zena, the desk manager, was kind and very helpful. Oak parallels Highway 99 but the sound was minimal. Bed was comfy. We would stay there again.

Had a 1 night stay in Red Roof Inn Bakersfield where to it was easy access from the freeway. This particular Red Roof Inn has been renovated in the beginning of 2016. Check-in/out was effective and easy process and staff was friendly. The room was remodelled, clean, quiet and spacious. It had new vinyl floor (a big plus!), comfortable bed with new bed linens, fridge, microwave and flat TV. Free WiFi was strong and stable. The bathroom had a shower insert and it was spotless clean. Not impressed, the king bed had metal bed frame that was wider than the bed base which meant that you had to give a wide birth when walking past the bed. I found out by smashing my ankle against the metal frame. How thin is the ceiling between rooms you could hear everything!!!!
