Just stayed here this past weekend. The rooms are nice, clean and comfy! The staff was friendly. I had to change my reservation from s King Room to a double and they were very accommodating. We used the pool and spa and both were clean. A bit too chlorinated but I kind of like that in a public pool. Breakfast was included and it was good. Eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles and the usual. The only thing that keeps me from 5 stars is that they really raised the rates for graduation. I paid twice w... Read more

Love the rooms - the beds and linens are fabulous and the staff outstanding. Hampton is always my first choice of hotels when I travel. I do not enjoy the breakfasts though. While the variety is fine, the food hot, and everything clean and wonderful, the cooked food is just so-so to me. I stick to the oatmeal. However, the overall quality of experience is fabulous.

We paid an outrageous per night fee to stay at this hotel during Humboldt University graduation (charged before we checked in, by the way), but the hotel did not step up its efforts for the occasion: Items requested at reservation not available, we were told at check in that availability of staff, requested items, etc. was extremely limited due to the graduation guests, housekeeping and breakfast were below par. Staff used the graduation as an excuse all weekend. The hotel management should h... Read more

Room rate is ridiculous for this property ( graduation increase?) ! Thin walls, clean room, finally a guest had to address the food service in Spanish to request some plastic spoons be provided. The two Hampton employees were just not too impressive in their attention to the guest demands at what passed for breakfast. This is a franchise property which can be excellent or bad. In this case the property is bordered by and overgrown vacant lot next to an older strip mall with a substantial transi... Read more

We were offered upgrade for $8 to a suite and took it. General rates reasonable the weekend we stayed . All hotels raise their rates for "events". We had plenty of room and didn't have to ask for extra towels . We had a front room and the curtains blocked out the freeway noise. Breakfast so so. Choice of yogurt poor as compared to other Hampton Inn's. Robust coffee tasted like regular . Clean, trash bins emptied often. Appreciated "to go bags", made our day on the road pleasant . All equipment was in good working condition and clean. They provide wipes for cardio and earbuds if you forgot yours. The pool was indoors and nice and ADA accessible. Somewhat noisy at night from freeway traffic. The breakfast was a very ordinary offering of a few kinds of cereal, waffles, scrambled eggs -- served on paper plates with plastic utensils. I don't mind paying for quality, but I expect to get it -- and this one was about 50% overpriced for what was delivered.

Your first impression of the place is the number of homeless sleeping and wandering around the street and looking for cash. A college town, this is on the fringe with other lower rate motels. Stayed on the first floor which proved to be quite noisy in the morning with breakfast being prepared. Breakfast staff make you feel like they are doing you a favor by refilling food trays. Not one of my better stays at a Hilton brand hotel.

I recently completed my third stay at this Hampton Inn and thought it was worth a review. It's a Hampton Inn, so you know what you're going to get. The hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly. I noticed that a number of staff have been at the hotel for years which is a nice sign. We enjoyed our one night stay at this neat and tidy Hampton Inn. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful with restaurant suggestions. Room was clean and kept up to Hilton standards. This is my second time staying at this hotel. After a long drive, it was so good to have a safe, clean place to sleep. Below are the pros and cons per what I experienced: Cons: ~The male night desk clerk was not friendly or helpful. I had to wait about 5 minutes in an empty lobby before he came out. There was no bell or anything. Pros: ~Clean room and beds ~Clean lobby and hotel ~Free breakfast ~Microwave and refrigerator in-room ~The room was spacious ~Nice, non-springy mattress ~Nice co... Stayed two nights here. Just turn right/north off the highway from Redding, California. It couldn't be easier to find. Once again the breakfast food and layout is just great. Hampton Inns have figured this one out.

Hampton Inn in Arcata was a delight to stay at. A very clean, comfortable and friendly staff make your stay enjoyable. Looking forward to staying there again soon. The bathrooms are ample in size with all the amenities. Bedding and size of rooms are great also.

This is my first choice when traveling to ACV. The hotel is very clean and the customer service is excellent. We try to use this location for all our personal and business trips and we get the same feedback from our employees.

Weekend trip to visit Humboldt State University for college tour. Great town of Arcata, picturesque setting, and supportive community. We had some really good phò from Phò Hoang. For a great evening of movie watching with some great creature comforts, you can't miss with Minor Theater.

It sure looked like a Hampton Inn but the experience was not what I expected of a Hampton. Online reservation did not allow me to change my room at all. When I arrived the young man at the desk was polite but not very engaged in job. No acknowledgement at all that I am a Hilton Honors member. I could hear complete conversations from the room next to mine. On the plus side, housekeeping did a very nice job keeping everything clean.

My family and I have stayed here twice in 1 month. We love it here. Friendly and helpful staff. Food places are close by and it's right off the freeway. Breakfast is great and breakfast staff are very attentive.

This hotel was great for a stay while visiting Humboldt State University, which is about 5 minutes away by car (though they don't give a discount to people visiting HSU, like it says on the HSU website). Perfect for routine family travel. Positives: clean; nicely decorated for a basic chain hotel; decent self-serve continental breakfast; friendly staff. Negatives: surprisingly thin walls for a newer hotel (we could hear people next to us and above us both nights, but fortunately they weren't su... Read more

The rooms were beautiful. The staff was very friendly! The breakfast was excellent! The beds were fantastic! This is the first time my wife and I didn't suffer backaches because of the beds. I would recommend The Arcata Hampton Inn over all of the hotels in and around Arcata.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It was very clean, and the room was spacious. Even the bathroom was spacious, with plenty of room for my Husband and I to use the counter at the same time. The employees were all friendly and accommodating.
