"We stayed at the Anabella because of its close proximity to the Anaheim Convention Center. The staff was super friendly, and super helfpul. I wanted to make sure and leave a review for this reason, because I feel they went above and beyond what you would experience in the average hotel in the way of customer service!
A few bellmen helped us transport a luggage cart of shipped items (many boxes) to the loading area of our convention display space and were unbelievablly chipper about it! They helped us with the items we had shipped to their hotel for our convention, and also with accessing the office center to print Fed Ex shipper labels.
The room was very clean, and attractive. The water came out of the faucets, always very hot! So much nicer than not having enough hot water, especially at a fully booked hotel. Looked like lots of families were staying for their visit to nearby Disneyland. But there were also a lot of people from our convention there too. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you Anabella!

"DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Let me explain. First of all the Pictures make the rooms look alot nicer than what we stayed in. Carpet floors instead of the wood flooring in the pictures. The room was Extremely small. The Bathroom Smelled and on top of that the showerHead was at a height for a 5'5 person(Not me at 6'3). The Room I stayed in was near the Breakroom or something for the cleaning staff so they were supper loud outside my room all morning starting at 730am. Furthermore the Design of where how to rooms are make it so that if you are on the bottom floor all you hear in the morning are people walking around and making loud noise. To top everything off you had to pay for Parking(which is fine I guess) but there wasn't any parking spots left so I had to park on the street. The only thing good about this place is its location and the Breakfast. Other than that it is a waste of money and I who never ever write reviews about anything felt compelled to do so. A Motel 6 would have been just as good."

"The Hotel was a great location but the room smelled like something rank. I called the front desk to complain about the smell and they said that they would make note of the room smelling.??????? We sprayed air freshener everyday and after a couple days we heard the tub drain backing up and so the smell was coming from the plumbing which both the tub and sink were draining together and they had problems not draining. We stayed on the second floor so this should not have been a problem. But poor quality maintence and up keep prevailed at this place. Sorry not recommended."

"The pictures and description is way better than what we actually experience. Carpet instead of wood/laminate floor., bath drain didn't work well, no fun in the bathroom. You smell the toilet smell when you first come into the room. Room was smaller than what we thought.

"This hotel is located just south of Disneyland - a short walk and was everything we needed. A pool and laundry facilities helped greatly and the value was good. The check in was a breeze and a very helpful gentleman made us laugh after our long journey and really made us feel welcome. The beds were comfy and the restaurant was very good. Our only problem was a curt and rude front desk staff who checked us out which was an unfortunate end to an otherwise great stay. Have been there before and would go there again and have told numerous friends about it who have also stayed and enjoyed their time there."

"DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! This was the worst hotel we have ever stayed at! The pictures are very deceiving and make it look like the Ritz Carlton but it was far from it. The first room they put us in, the lights would turn off when we turned the air conditioning unit on and the air conditioning would turn off when we turned the lights on so they had to switch us rooms. Also, the sleeper sofa was so stained, it looked as if it had taken part in some crime scene. In our second room, it was worse! Sleeper sofa again stained, but when we tried to use it, the springs were broken so the mattress was collapsed inside. My stepson had to drag the mattress to the grungy, stained carpet and sleep on the floor. One light bulb was out so my husband removed the glass cover to look at it. Live spiders!! The second night, we found a huge cockroach in the shower! There were dips in the bed so they were obviosly old and I woke with an awful backache. We had a stroller and were put on the 2nd floor where there were no elevators! The only good thing about this place is that the staff was really pleasant and tried to be accomodating. Not much they can do with what they have been given. When we complained to the manager, he sadi he couldnt do anything except not charge us for parking (which was $14/day with no valet!), since we had booked through a 3rd party. The bartender was nice and the restaurant looked like it to but was too afraid to eat there due to the cockroach we had seen. All in all, save your money people. The only reason why they had an 8 star rating is because of the friendly staff."

"I cannot even begin to understand how this hotel gets good reviews. This hotel has been by far the worst hotel I've stayed in. The room was hot, the bathroom was old and rusty, the wallpaper was peeling...it was horrible. The bathtub backed up while taking a shower, it was disgusting. The bathroom fixtures/towel racks are old and rusty. The room has no central air conditioning and it was overall a bad hotel. I chose this hotel because of the pics on the Internet which are very misleading. We still had to pay for a shuttle to get to Disneyland because it's about 20 min walking distance and it's not pleasable with small children. They also charge you for parking which is unexplainable. The hotel looks nice on the outside but they take no pride with the upkeep on the interior. Will never stay here again!"

"The location is excellent for Disneyland. But be careful, their pictures of the rooms on the web page are too beautiful comparing to the real ones. On other hand, the room rate is inexpensive.
I asked for a hardwood flooring room in the reservation, however finally couldn't have that. Anyway, the hardwood flooring is not so nice as it is pictured.

"The Anabella Hotel is not like it was descibed as on the internet. Not all the rooms have been updated. Our room had a strong smell of bleach when we enetered it and had crumbs on the floor from the previous people.The closet did not shut properly, the bathroom had no fan and you had to press extremely hard to get the toilet to flush. I was very disappointed in this hotel which ends up costing over $150 a night, $15 for parking, for a room that had no chairs for you to sit out at night when you are on the second floor. I had to call the main desk twice to get more towels sent to our room because they only gave us 2 bath towels with 4 of us in the room. Also the pool had murky water so I did not let my kids swim in it. The only thing I liked about this hotel is that it is walking distance to the park. I will not stay there again. I have read on many reviews that they were offered an upgrade for their rooms but when I asked for an upgrade they were going to charge me alot more money. This hotel needs an overall renovation and new vacuum cleaners."

"Our stay was enjoyable but had it's moments. The rooms were EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING!!!!! They DO NOT look as spacious and as nice as the pictures on the internet. They have had some renovations done, but not near enough to justify the pictures. The plumbing was horrible. Our sink and tub drained very slowly or not at all and one evening we had a brown liquid substance coming up from our sink!!!! It did take maintenance a very long time to get to our room and get it fixed. The hotel staff and wait staff at the restaurant were AWESOME!!! The pool and restaurant and the convenient walk to Disney was worth our stay!!! Pool was beautiful and relaxing and a great environment for kids. The restaurant was excellent. We loved everything we ordered! Especially breakfast!! Drinks were a bit much though. Cheaper to go down to 7-11 your first day and pick up some snacks and cheaper beer and keep them in your fridge. The walk to both Disney parks was great!!! We had our 7 yr old and it wasn't too much for him, but you definitely have to cut through the Disney Hotel on the right the Grand Californian rather than going all the way to the front of Downtown Disney. It was so close that we would spend a few ours at the park in the morning/early afternoon then would walk back to hotel to eat snacks by the pool and swim and would always walk back around 7-8 to the parks and enjoy a few more hours. Overall our trip was great and would stay again because of the closeness, pool, and restaurant, but definitely NOT for the rooms!!!!!!"

"Very dissapointed !! Anabella hotel failed to give me the room that I booked and paid for. It was the Business class with queen size bed and sofa sleeper , and comes with free breakfast . rnThey gave us a room with a queen size bed period !! I travelled with my nephew so a sofa sleeper would have been perfect. rnWe check-in on a friday at 6pm and was told that all room are already taken including the room that I booked and paid for 6 weeks earlier.rnThe manager gave us a roll away bed at NO extra cost. By Sunday they move us to a differnt room but still NOT the business class with queen size and sofa sleeper. rnThe pictures that i saw on their website wasn't there for us to see and stay . But was paid for .rnso folks beware of booking your room because you might not get it.rnVERY DISSAPOINTED !! rnAlso the free breakfast consist of 2 eggs, potato and 2 slices of bacon and cofee EVERYDAY !! while at the hotel I phoned bookit.com to complain and the hotel charges me $5 bucks for making the call !!.. so much so about toll free !! unbelievable ....still stressed out, and so mad about the whole experience...something to think twice when booking again !!"

"When we first arrived the room was not ready, and we had to wait 1 hour(NOT a good first impression, no sorry for the inconvience,enjoy a coffe/drink on us by the pool while you wait) Very poor customer service. When we did get in the room ,the maid was still working on it & was a HUGE dissapointment,seriously Motel 6~ IT LOOKED NOTHING LIKE WHAT WAS POSTED ONLINE! Scuffed,scratched up flooring, old box tv,outdated furniture,and it was VERY dark! ...MIND YOU THIS WAS A MORE EXPENSIVE UPGRADED ROOM> really bad ! The customer service was very hit & miss, there was usually no poolside service, if someone was around it took forever,or was forgotten completely. Nothing like having to get up poolside, order your own items from the bar wet, and wait somemore! The staff seemed unorganized, lacked any polish, and in general just didn't try very hard...clearly there bread and butter is the disneyland traffic, as without this attraction,,,there unproffesionalism would not fly, nor would the hotel! If you like figuring everything out on your own, waiting around for any service, lackluster front desk service with no info given( such as what a upgraded room offers & perks at the annabella) or something as simple as even taking your bags to bag service...oh and my personal favorite..as we waited for a hour to get our room, we get a hard sell from another hotel,offering disneybucks if you take a tour and have breakfast with a salesman?! REALLY TACKY and again, very bad first impression! Upside ,it was close to disneyland, the pool and gardening was nice. I would rather save up and stay at a actual resort, or save period and stay at the best western, at least you know what your getting, not a hyped up motel that wants to be a resort."

"We booked a one night stay at the Anabella Hotel since we were going to be at Disneyland. When my husband, our sons (two and nineteen year old) and I arrived at our hotel room we were very happily surprised with our room. We had been upgraded to a suite which offered three sleeping rooms. My two year old son got to sleep in his own room adjacent to our room which had bunk beds. He was so excited. Our other son took the back room which offered his own flat screen tv. The beds were very comfortable and the suite was very clean. The only complaint my family had was from our older son who mentioned that he had a squeaky bed. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel and we will be booking at this hotel for our future stays."

"rnFamily of 6 we checked in on friday. rnReserved one room with a king bed, a full, and a sofa bed. It wouked out perfectly for us. rnWent swimming and for a dip in the hot tub. The kids had a good time and everything worked out. I did notice the wood floor was dirty as our feet were dirty as we walked on it. We had to pay $16 a day for parking and were on the second floor. Did not eat at the in house restaurant. I would definetly stay here again as it is right across the street from Disney. It is still a good 20 minute walk/1 mile in distance. "

"My aunt, niece, boyfriend and I shared a suite for one night. The room was nice and clean and with a few extra towels and pillows we were all very comfortable in this suite. When you walk in, the main room holds a queen bed with a small love-seat sized pull-out couch at the end. The love-seat was bed was a perfect fit for my teenaged niece. There was also a TV, two chairs and a small table on the opposite end. Behind the queen bed was a small room with a single day bed, chair and flat screen TV; it was a perfect room for my aunt. Behind the TV, table and chairs was the bathroom space which was surprisingly large for a suite. The shower was slow to drain, but I suppose that's typical of most hotels these days. Everything was clean, fresh and pleasant. We didn't spend much time in the room since we were busy at Disneyland and California Adventure but enjoyed the time we did spend in the room. The best part for me was the shuttered windows. Completely blacked out the morning light. The staff was a little strange. We were glad to be near am ice/vending machine area, but there was no vending machine. We called the front desk to ask for the next closest. We were directed to the one the we already discovered did not exist. The staffer told me he'd call back with the next closest but never called back. I called again and was directed to a vending machine that was pretty far away. We would've been better off walking to the the lobby gift shop for a Coke. We really liked how close The Anabella is to Disneyland. We did not walk around to the front gate, but instead walked to the Grand Californian that lead to Downtown Disney. It was much quicker and less foot traffic to deal with."

"Our first room's bed was old and broken down so they moved us upstairs to a smaller but nicer room. The food was excellent and the staff was very accomidating in the hotel and resteraunt. We were approached by a property management director who was doing an inspection and review of the hotel and he asked us about our experience there. He was genuine and concerned about the hotels reputation and service levels. The bed will be replaced in the first room and a noisy slamming gate to the pool will be fixed because of that. The grounds are well maintained and everyone was very helpful. It's a hotel so there's going to be good and bad experiences based on the other peoples noise level but we were very happy overall. We had a billing error caused by our changing rooms that a manager took care of."

"On their website, you'll see boastful information about how they offer a 'boutique' hotel with amenities. Upon arrival, my husband and I had to wait for our room to get ready for over an hour, so we decided to check out their restaurant. I ordered a chicken sandwich, and my husband had a seafood pasta. His was pretty good, but my sandwich had a dry chicken breast so huge on it that I could barely fit it in my mouth. When we got into our 'suite,' we were greatly disappointed with the size. It was tiny, dank, hot (they didn't turn on the A/C for us), and the bed squeaked when you sat or moved on any part of it. Trying to look at the bright side of things, we went to the pool. It was nice and warm, but what disturbed us most of all was the taste of the water in the pool/spa. It was salty. Not just a little salty, but like sea water salty. After our swim, my husband had to take a shower because his skin was actually sticky from the pool. I told him it was probably just the salt water. Later, I asked a guy at the front desk about the pool. He told me that it was not a salt water pool. Needless to say, we never used the pool again. The coffee maker made me so angry in the morning. It brewed water coffee. I have no other way to describe it. It wasn't coffee. It wasn't quite water. But it was light-brown water. My husband and I are coffee drinkers, so this was a HUGE deal for us. Our first night was not the greatest. We had a group of people next door that let their kids jump on the beds. The walls were so thin that we heard everything. My husband got stuck on the toilet with no toilet paper. They had forgotten to restock the toilet paper and we only had a little bit left on the roll. Turn down service is anywhere between 9 am and 6pm, and you'll never know which it is. I'm kinda curious as to what Anabella thinks they offer in amenities. No coffee, squeaky beds, disgusting pool, run down old looking rooms, average restaurant, $14/day parking, and paper thin walls, $10/day wifi access, and only one working power outlet in the entire room. Hmmm...."

"We loved this place - staff was outstanding and very friendly. We were upgraded to a suite and it was fantastic - our kid had his own room and tv! Our two things for them to work on: 1) upgrade all tvs in rooms to flat screens (our kid had a nice flat screen, we had an old tube tv that was fuzzy); 2) don't charge me for parking since I'm a paying guest! I do agree the walls are thin, we could hear other guests but as we were on the second floor it wasn't too bad. Beds were great and the suite was oh so big, perfect to relax in after our loooong day at Disneyland. We also ate at the Tangerine, had great service and fantastic, fresh food - dinner and a buffet breakfast. I can't say enough about the staff, everyone was so nice & helpful - our hostess remembered us from the night before and was so welcoming. Love the hotel, we will definitely be back!"

"The location is excellent for a trip to Disneyland but the accommodations were not. The room was small despite being called a suite, the carpet was worn, there were no extra blankets and the room was cold, the heat/air-conditioner unit was very loud, there was no elevator to the 2nd floor units requiring us to lug a large suitcase up stairs and parking cost $17 per night w/o a dedicated parking spot. However, the staff was friendly, the lobby was nicely appointed and the rates were reasonable. I would not stay at this hotel again."

"The hotel is about 15 minutes walking to Disney. You will be told on the phone that they offer a shuttle.What they dont tell you is that they do, for a fee. There are daily vehichle parking fees, about $20 a day. I had to prove thet we were supposed to get the $25 food and drink voucher. If you order room service, exoect to double or tripple the price of the food, as there are 2 fees and a delivery fee. (not alloted on the menu). Over all, I thought it was a charming hotel. The lady at the desk was a little rude. Hidden fees are everywhere with everything. When the hidden fees were totalled, we could have just stayed at one of the Disney hotels for the same amount."

"We were not throughly impresssed with this hotel...the rooms seemed clean and nice at first appearance but found dated wall paper and not extremely clean. The heater/ac unit face was broken and falling off. We had trouble with one of the lamp next to the bed not working...so we checked the plug and the whole head board was resting on the plug...of course the whole head board falls off the wall...we called maintenance and they came and fixed it. Last morning there...started a shower with lukewarm water that turned into an ice cold shower at the end...no hot water that day! There is no free wireless internet...about $10/day and you must pay to use their business center also. The property and grounds are nice...but lots of construction and noise at the time we stayed. The Tangerine restaurant was pretty decent. We like the proximity to Disneyland and the bed was very confortable. Due to the problems we experienced...we would not recommend this hotel and will probably not choose this hotel in the future."

"Well, the hotel is 'posh' enough but the rooms are tiny, and look easy to mess up (white duvet, no coasters...) ours was a 'king' but really didn't seem that big... maybe just because it was squished against a wall. Parking was $14 dollars and you can park there only when you are a guest. So you can check in about 9 or 10 am and park, but then as you check out the next day you will have to move your car- no exceptions. The hotel was comfy enough but as soon as it turned morning I began thinking bombs were dropping- it really was loud as each person opened and closed their doors, getting ready, packing their cars- I almost went insane. We had stayed up soooooooooooooooooooo late at Disney. UGH. Coffee was $3 in the morning, no free breakfast, and I could never find the hot tub though I tried!!!!!!!!!!!"

"A great stay in an upstairs king suite, would be great for a family visit to disney w/ floor space for small kids to play. Very clean and wonderful, helpful staff. I was there for 5 nights. Had a few breakfasts and a dinner there. All food was great. It was walking distance to Downtown Disney or a $6.00 cab ride. It was not new but newly remodeled. AC has heat and cool. Used the laundry and it was as clean as the room and has a patio nearby to sit and enjoy the beautiful bouganvillas and birds of paradise. There is a family pool and adult pool which I did not get to use but looked inviting."

"The Hotel was about 3 blks from Disneyland. The location is great if you don't have really little children to carry around.
The pool was nice and was heated enough for nighttime swimming.
The internet did not work well, so save your 10.00/day and don't bother.
The room was a good size, and clean. Shower was a little tight due to the metal seat, but I guess this was needed due to it being a wheelchair access room.

"We stayed for 3 nights in a Mission Suite. 2 Adults and 2 kids. It worked out perfect! The room was spacious and really nice. My husband and I had the king bed, and my 10 year old son took the daybed in the little room and my 6 year old was on the fold out couch (which is a twin). The staff was nice and helped us right away (with towel requests, etc.). Eat at Tiffy's next door for good food that isn't too expensive. And walk to Downtown Disney through the Grand Californian. "I had read negative reviews prior to the trip, and did get a bit nervous, but our stay was great!
The staff was fun and friendly, and the rooms were just fine. We had met another family that was staying there, and they said 'aren't the rooms small?', and we replied with 'ours is just fine!' I mean, who needs a giant room when all you're going to do there is sleep and shower? I wasn't too thrilled with the fee for parking per night. Why pay to park when you're already paying to stay there. Perhaps a parking tag showing you're a 'paying customer'.
The hotel offers a fantastic walking distance to the nearest shuttle to take you to Disneyland. Extremely convenient.

"Our most recent stay at Anabella sadly ended yesterday. this is the second time we stayed at this hotel in Anaheim and would suggest it to any other visitor to the area who wants comfort, space, good food and friendly staff. Let me not forget the price, it's very good. The only slight detraction is that on both occassions some little thing in our room didn't work. Nothing that would be a trouble except for the most picky and prune faced I think. (our bathroom plug didn't work for the hairdryer, so I used the one in the hall with the closet mirror - and voila!). They are so helpful and treat you like you're family visiting, not a number. You can tell the staff are happy working there and it all creates an atmosphere that is relaxing and casual. We rented a vehicle this time and went to Universal Studios - they happily printed out driving directions and told us what times of day to avoid heavy traffic. They stored our baggage for us for the day after we checked out, arranged the shuttle pick up, put our fruit in a fridge and told us to feel free to use the pool, showers and towels,etc while we waited for our ride to the airport. Really, there's no better place to stay for convenience to Disneyland by foot or local conveniences and lots of restaurant options. I've thought about staying at other places we walked by, but I just can't take the chance of them being a disappointment after staying at the Anabella. If you decide to take my advice and stay there, please don't crowd in mid-late September - that's when we go!!!!"

"A couple of years ago we stayed at The Fairfield Inn nearby which was disappointing in comparison.
On this trip, there were 5 of us in our party and with that many we needed 2 rooms and we wanted something close to Disneyland but couldn't suffer the Fairfield again. The Anabella Hotel is a 10 minute easy walk to the main gate at Disneyland. The team at Anabella were always accommodating and had us only a couple of doors away. They arranged a great deal with a car rental that dropped off and picked up from the hotel - no busses.
The only negative we experienced was that the air-conditioning in our rooms was ineffective with the hot weather conditions especially at night.
The food in the restaurant was always excellent and free range; much better than eating at nearby external restaurants. Miguel, our waiter was not only entertaining but gave us invaluable tourist advice that always proved to be accurate. The level of service and nutritional free range menu means we will always choose Anabella when going to LA in future.
This was one hotel where the website shows what you actually get; this is rare at this price range."

After a long day of riding rides and stuffing your face with cotton candy and ice cream, there's nothing like coming back to a clean room and comfortable bed. 10 min walk to Disney entrance and a 10 min walk to downtown Disney. There's also a restaurant and bar on site if you don't feel like leaving and swimming through masses."

"This was a great place to stay during the 2011 Disneyland 1/2 Marathon. It is right across the street from the park and the race course runs right by the hotel. The room was clean and the staff was great. The quiet pool was just that. The only complaint was the fee for the 2nd car to park 1 night. They charged us for 4 nights but we only had the 2nd car 1 night."

"We stayed at the Anabella for 3 nights for a little over $300 total. And it was a great investment. You are literally across the street from the amusement park and total walking distance is no more than 10mins to get to the gate. The rooms are nice enough for the price that they are offered at. The staff are nice and the restaurant is good. All in all I am completely satisfied with my stay at the Anabella and definitely would recommend it!"

"Great value! the hotel is near to Disneyland (about 10 minute walk). It is clean inside. It also have two swimming pools that provide free towels and paying foods/drinks. The fitness room is also a plus. I would definitely come back to this hotel the next time I go to Disneyland.
