Love this location but the Hotel and staff need some work. When checking in as a Platinum member we were not asked about a room upgrade and when we did ask it seemed to be an inconvenience for them to look. It took persistence but we were finally upgraded. This may be that our expectations are too high but most of the Marriott properties spoil us rotten so its unusual that we had this experience. The rooms are clean and very comfy but outdated and starting to show wear. However, even with the ne... Read more

The Tucson Marriott University Park is a perfectly acceptable business hotel adjacent to the University of Arizona campus and sitting next to a major restaurant and entertainment district. Staff were friendly, helpful, and polite. My room was clean and I experienced no problems. This is a quality, hassle-free hotel. But in the year 2016 I can no longer offer full points (an "excellent") rating to a hotel that charges for internet access, especially a hotel as expensive as this one. Also the... Read more

When booking my work trip I was a bit shocked that this hotel on a university campus in Tucson was one of the most expensive I've been quoted. As my only purpose was to visit staff of UofA in the building literally next door the hotel my work approved it. I loved it when I walked in, lovely big space with a little river running through! I was told I was on the concierge level which was the top floor. I was told there was a free continental breakfast which was certainly convenient. They didnt ... Read more

I've stayed here for a week each year for six years. I think this was my last! The nicest part of this hotel is the Concierge Lounge. Great attendants and food offerings. The rooms are TIRED and are in need of a makeover. Housekeeping is mediocre at best. Hallways dirty. Carpeting in room not vacuumed during my stay. And, housekeeping did the filthy "clean the drinking glass with windex" routine. It was disgusting. I took the glass to the manager on duty. Acted like he didn't care. ... Read more

The hotel has a great location near shops, restaurants and the university. It is easy to walk to many things. The staff was friendly and efficient. The rooms were very clean. The hotel restaurant and bar could be better and never seemed very busy. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is nice... Well maintained, open atrium lobby with water feature, clean, etc. everything you expect at a Marriott. Location is good - lots of local and chain restaurants right there in the neighborhood steps from the door. It is also right on the streetcar line that goes to downtown. We used it to go to a race downtown - much easier than parking. The gift shop sells the day passes which is super convenient. The team here makes it great! This is the most friendly service I have ... Read more

I know it is my fault for coming back to this hotel - but is the closest Marriott property to my 96 year old friend so convenience wins out BUT there is no way this qualifies as a Marriott brand property and barely could be a old Courtyard. Common areas are old and dated as are the rooms. Front desk is often left open with no staff and when as an east person I come down early to work out no one is around - saw many folks walk in off the street to use bathroom who were definitely not guests. The reason I stayed at the Tucson Marriott University Park was the proximity to campus. It is only 1 block away. As far as Marriotts go, the hotel itself is very run down. I do not think it has been remodeled in the 20 years since it has been opened. The food at the restaurant is decent for a quick bite. However, you are a short walk to many restaurants near campus. Overall, stay here for the convenience, but realize that it only a three star hotel.

Front desk staff is poorly trained. Terrible check-in and check-out was no different. Worst thing, NO Manager on Duty and it was only 6pm. This Marriott is managed by Atrium Hospitality group and not directly by Marriott Intl. This might be the reason why service is so bad! Plenty of other hotels in the area with nicer facilities and much better and friendlier service.

This hotel is perfectly located for any trip to Tucson - nice and central! I was impressed by the lobby when we arrived and we even got a free room upgrade! The rooms were nice, nothing fancy. The decor is a little dated, but it is "desert" decor so I guess it is fitting. You can walk to plenty of places from here. We traveled over summer break so I am not sure how crazy it gets over here when school is in session! Wi-fi was not free, which is really irritating

I have stayed at the Marriott twice in the last couple of years for upwards of 10 days. As most reviews say the hotel is tired. The rooms are not bad and as someone who spends most of the visit in one I would rate the size as the best feature. They are roomy. The other great aspect is its location close to the University but also the Trolley which goes Downtown. Because of this the hotel is quite popular and always busy. My biggest gripe is the planned renovation. I've been hearing about the pl... Read more

Upon arrival the Valet was friendly and welcoming but the receptionist was surly and rude... and slow. Due to platinum status I normally get a suite upgrade but not this time... just a regular room. Beds were lumpy and pillows were uncomfortable. Power plugs hard to find and not in the right places. No fridge/minibar. Creamer for the coffee had curdled. It must have been really old for FAKE creamer to curdle! Food in the exec lounge for breakfast was limited, and it only opens at 6:30 - hardly ... Read more

I have been staying at this Marriot for the past seven months. It is in a great location. Right near the University, dining, and bike trails. I have had ok rooms, and I've had rooms that are really bad. I am writing this review for the management at this hotel. The entire hotel smells like stale cigarettes. Every room, and every floor. This was probably a hotel you could smoke in years ago and the stench is soaked in the wall paper and carpet. Sometimes I get the feeling that the only thing clea... Read more

I had my GF come out and visit me during the 4th of July weekend while I'm conducting business in Tucson. I split the nights between here, to enjoy the downtown area, and JW Marriott Star Pass in the mountains, for a nice getaway. The staff is always courteous, friendly and accommodating. The room was comfortable, as usual since I've stayed here many times. Since I'm a reward member they gave us access to the concierge lounge on the top floor where they serve a decent continental type breakfa... Read more

Very friendly and helpful valet even though we didn't actually valet, good check in. Rooms still had feather pillows even though we'd specified on booking and double checked at reception on check in. Handled well though when we complained. Large spacious room, small balcony, no corridor noise and we were close to elevator so was a little nervous. Very close to bars and restaurants. All in all a good experience.

From the time I drove in to use valet to the front desk greeting they were all fantastic. I had a package that was shipped to their facility for business and they notified me at check in that it had arrived. The next day breakfast was excellent. The hotel itself can be a bit noisy based on the internal design but overall my stay was excellent. Rooms are fine for my business travel.

Great stay at a hotel next to the University of Arizona. Rooms were spacious. Had a great view of the mountains and downtown. Staff very helpful. Outdoor pool was lovely but a little small. Jacuzzi next to it. Good buffet breakfast. Nice bar. Scenic indoor lobby. Good sundries shop. If I have to come back, I will certainly stay here.

My room was spacious and the view was nice. It is really easy to get around in the city. The Valet was slow but friendly. The concierge lounge needed more food choices and the fridge was never stocked fully. Their was a musty smell near the elevators on both floors. As a platinum member, I expect to be upgraded but rarely happens. The bed was very comfy but again it just needs some updates. The service staff in the lobby lounge and in the concierge were not attentive

Well, I saw service go downhill when I stayed here a year ago and it continues. This was probably the worst check-in experience I've had at a Marriott in years... no mention of the MR platinum status and I had to ask for details about parking, about the concierge lounge, about what the 3rd key they gave me was for, and there was no mention of my Platinum status or offer of points vs. dining credit. I shouldn't have had to ask for all that. It's a training/management issue, but this place just... Read more

Was booked for us the company we were visiting at a "special" rate of 89+++, yeh it's the +++ that pushes up the price and pushes this hotel out of it's league of being good value. The location is good with lots of restaurants and shops on the parallel street being it. Parkingis 13 per night just across the road and free on saturdays. The room was spacious and fairly quiet, did not have a refridgerator in it though. Breakfast i very expensive, there is a jack in the box restaurant around the cor... Read more

Just had a day to spend in Tucson and this hotel was the perfect location. Right next to the university along with plenty of restaurants. If you didn't mind a little longer walk it was convenient to fourth avenue and downtown. Room was dated but clean. King size bed was comfortable and rest of room was spacious. There is free parking on Saturday stays otherwise it's around $13. Location of this hotel is most important.

From the moment we were greeted at check-in, the staff at this hotel treated us like royalty. Overall, we found our room clean, comfortable, and quiet. The room window curtains were visibly dusty, and the lounge breakfast food was bare minimum. Even so, we look forward to our next stay at this extremely friendly, well-located hotel.

We stayed here for a volleyball tournament. It is right next to the university. The first night we didn't even know about the University Boulevard, which borders the hotel. It has many cool restaurants and shops and plenty of outdoor seating. I would definitely stay here again.

This is an elegant Marriott property--the lobby is beautifully decorated with water features, rooms are spacious and well-appointed, and there are nice amenities on property (concierge lounge, bar/restaurant, gift shop, fitness/pool). The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is located directly adjacent to University of Arizona, so there are plenty of eating and drinking options close by. For all that--there were some minor logistics issues that added up to some inconvenience. Self parking ... Read more

This Marriott is constructed in a motel style atmosphere with external hallways overlooking a courtyard. The concept is outdated. The room was very large and clean and handled my business needs well. The location next to the University was nice and allowed us to check out the surrounding area by walking.

I've stayed at the Tucson Marriot 2 times this month and I have to say I am disappointed with the service but also the fact that they charge probably one of the most expensive rates for a 3 star hotel and they also charge for everything else from internet, to parking and even water in the room is charged at 4 dollars per bottle! I have stayed in other Marriot hotels and I am used to better service and better value for money. The only good thing about this hotel is it's proximity to the UofA.

I was not part of the logistical planning for the meeting, however as a location for a meeting I think it worked well. The hotel is close to several restaurants, the University, CVS, and the tram. The room was clean and a good size (shared with plenty of space). Also offers a 24hr workout space - actually has 2 spaces, one with weights and multiple cardio pieces (3 treadmills and 3 ellipticals and maybe a bike), and one that is more like an open studio for yoga etc. It was a nice surprise. ... Simple marriott but with one huge advantage: if you come to UoA it is inside the campus. While very big hotel it is very simple. Nice pool and reasonable concierge club but limited items and it was very crowded and the furnitures and VERY simple. The rooms are good clean and functional.

Had a very quick overnight stay here and the bed was very comfortable. Close to lots of dining, shopping and U of A. Location is great. Staff very friendly and helpful. One issue was that when room service was ordered, it took quite a bit longer than the 25 minutes I was quoted but it certainly did not ruin our stay. One suggestion would be to update some of the fixtures to include USB ports for easy charging. The room included every kind of plug imaginable aside from the one I needed. I left my... Read more
