We were here for 4 nights. Upgraded room so we had a rear facing the waterfall and landscaping. So well taken care of. Chef always stopped to visit with us in the bar just like we were old friends. In fact, that is how we felt in this resort. Tucson is a lovely city, and this is a lovely place to stay. It is off the beaten path, but well worth the few extra minutes it took to get there. Concierge arranged things for us; i.e., jeep tours, and provided maps to help us get around. Would go ... Read more

Arrived in November just as renovations were finishing. Our room was fantastic, with a lovely patio facing a secluded desert mountain. We came to enjoy spending time at the Flying V restaurant drinking margaritas and eating amazing tableside guacamole. The pool area was excellent. Access to the Canyon Trail was a little tricky the first time but once you figure it out it's easy. I thoroughly enjoyed running through the canyon every evening. I stayed here recently for a business event. It was nice, and the staff was extremely helpful. My room had a balcony which was private and nice for morning tea. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was unusual. The bath was a square and could fit two or three people in it, but it wasn't a Jacuzzi. There was some dirty grout which made me wonder whether the bath had been cleaned. Also, the paint on the door of the hotel rooms was peeling. Food at the hotel, both in the restaurants at... Read more

Vickie and I came to Loews last year for our anniversary and just LOVED it, so we came back this year as well. Nothing has changed. The staff here continue to impress in everything they do. The property has been renovated since our last visit in 2015 - not that I think it needed it. I just can't say enough about this place. We always look forward to visiting Loews with several friends and family members each summer for some relaxation and recreation. This time around was no different, and Loews hit all the marks as usual. Added, the recent refresh of color scheme in the rooms is a nice change. The only caution I give the reader is that much like other resorts, Loews Ventana Canyon does charge a nightly resort fee, a room service delivery charge, and includes gratuity on each dining charge at each restaurant. 20% i... I attended a conference at Loews this past week. The rooms and property are great but what sets the place apart in my book are the people. Every person I encountered at the resort was so pleasant (especially the lovely Madeline - give her a raise to keep her around) and all went out of their way to help me with the littlest thing. We stayed a short 2 nights on business. Fantastic property. Bed and pillows comfy, nice amenities. Only complaint which seems rampant today is a/c did not cool sufficiently. They immediately worked to remedy and was better, but still stuffy to sleep by. This is not good for November. I am sure this is to ensure energy savings, and we are conscious to change thermostat when leaving room, close drapes, etc. but we do like a cold room (under 70) for sleep. Otherwise no complaints, everything lovely... Read more

It was our first experience at the Loews in Tucson and it was great! The front desk was very friendly towards my kids and helpful during check in. It was myself, my husband, 5 year old, 3 year old, and a 6 month old. The room was clean and had a nice balcony and a view of the pool. The kids loved swimming and the staff made it seem very kid friendly, which was important to us. They fed the beautiful fish, walked around the paths to the waterfall, and enjoyed a nice meal on the grass and d... Read more

Property looks 70s but the rooms are great and upgraded! Staff on their game! Pools need some work! Very relaxing! Restaurant outstanding. Massages good, although I didn't like that they added the 20% tip automatically to the bill without a choice :-(

Someone I know called Loew's Ventana a bunker, probably due to the extensive stone and concrete construction. But I see the style more as a cliff-dwelling, which also keeps it in the tradition of the ancient southwest. Regardless, this is a sprawling hotel that once was much more a solitary property blending into the hillside but which now is surrounded by luxury homes. On my first visit 20 years ago, you could really sense a special place, close to wilderness and quite far from the center of to... Read more

Our family of four had a sensational thanksgiving weekend at the Ventana Canyon resort. The front desk staff, concierge, and restaurant staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The food was terrific, our rooms were beautiful, and the resort amenities (golf, tennis, pool) were all first rate. Above all, everyone seemed determined to make sure we had a relaxing and time, even accommodating a friends' visit (with two dogs!) to spend time with our kids over a meal. There were many surprises, from ... Read more

This resort is the best in Tucson. We celebrated Thanksgiving here with our family. It is on the Catalina mountain side so it has beautiful views. The pool is heated and there is a huge hot tub. We enjoyed walking to the waterfall and hiking up the Ventana trail. I can't wait to come back.

Loews Ventana Canyon continues to maintain it's distinctive presence both on premises and within the environment that it occupies. I love that this resort naturally blends into the destination yet provides a uniquely elegant setting. The guestrooms are beautiful, the views are extraordinary. And, if you wish to be pampered with just the right amount of attention then you won't be disappointed. The food and beverage was terrific and every person I encountered was friendly, helpful and went ou... Read more

This resort has everything you want and a staff that is the most friendly and efficient we have found in many years of travel. Room views are great and deck areas make a great place to relax. The nature trail onsite shows the attention to detail that informs all of the services. The chicken soup must not be missed, chips with guacamole and salsa would feed 4 people and tastes great. Spa staff is super friendly (as is every employee we met). Rooms are good sized and two person tubs really ho... Read more

I spent a week at Loews Ventana Canyon with my husband and 2 small kids. We relaxed by the pool, fed the fish, ate excellent food and plan to go back next year again. We met families who go every year and now we are starting that tradition. Corey Davis and AJ were incredible hosts at the hotel and ensured we had a great time. It was warm, inviting and a true getaway from the day to day craziness of routine.
