My husband and I stayed in one of the casitas. It was spacious with a lovely private patio in the back. Really enjoyed the restaurant. Wait staff was friendly and food was very good. The garden and pool were well kept. Would definitely stay there again when back in Tucson.

I really enjoyed this place! none of my friends in tucson had even heard of it! It is a charming small hotel that is quiet and feels very private. We stayed in the Casitas. They were very very large, adorable decorated and comfortable to have friends over to visit. The bed were very comfortable, the kitchen area was the perfect size and had dishes! The pool is small but was not crowed and was very very clean. It is open until 11 so you can swim at night under the stars. breakfast was ok but not ... Read more

The best thing of the hotel was the great view on the red rocks from your room on the balcony. The hotel has a Spanish/Mexican look to it with a very nice and beautiful interiour. The rooms are very lovely and coz, the beds are great. Be sure to check out the bathroom it is really unique. I really enjoyed my complementary breakfast on the balcony of the restaurant, especially with the rising sun and the colours it casts on the red rocks. The breakfast has enough to choose from. I was pleasantly surprised to find La Posada Lodge and Casitas as quiet and relaxing as it was since it is a busy area. There are an endless number of nice, affordable restaurants nearby and shopping is close by, too, so anything you may want is readily available. Also, it is not far from the Catalina Mountains where we took a 3 mile hike early one morning. We used to live in Tucson and it is easy to get around and this location seems far out but it only takes 15 minutes or less to get downtown ... Read more

The Lodge is located close to shopping facilities near the mall, and more up north away from center city. At first glance the outside of the lodge near the road seemed like an average place to stay. Upon going into the hotel for check-in the staff were very pleasant, and the desk and entry were comfortable and well kept. Our room had a Mexican southern flair. There was a refrigerator and microwave with a sink and a tall table with high chairs, which separated the room a little so that there ... Read more

The review title says it all. This older property was a cozy stop on our long journey. I selected the hotel because of its proximity to The Tucson Mall and dining options, but was delighted with the super professional and kind staff. The pool is a gorgeous oasis between the buildings and breakfast offers more than the often-found prepackaged pastries and fruit basket (we enjoyed eggs, tater tots, pastries, cereal, etc.). The vintage, and hand painted headboards are way cool. No interior hallways... Read more

This hotel has very comfortable, clean , modern rooms. The pool is sparkling and had a relaxing waterfall. The front desk staff is very caring and accommodating . We are lucky we found this place to stay on our cross continent trip along interstate 10.

Spent a long weekend at La Posada for Spacefest VII. We got a 'casita', basically a row of mini suites along the back of the property. Has a little table and chairs in the front, and a private lawn in the back. Very nice for my son when the people next door weren't out there smoking. The room is large, with a king bed and a pull out couch at the foot. With the couch folded up there was plenty of room. With it out it got a little tight, but was still OK. Nice desk area for working, and a separ... Read more

I treated my husband to a weekend here for Father's Day. I chose La Posada thinking it would be quieter than one of the big resorts. I was wrong. Being busy and lots of kids isn't the hotel's fault. However, allowing extended families to pile into rooms and basically take over the premises is unacceptable. There were kids screaming outside past midnight on our first night. We had one of the junior casitas which was nice except that there were ants in the bathroom and the courtyard was covered in... Read more

I must admit that I booked this hotel for two reasons: price and the hammered tin bed frame. I was not at all disappointed. It was comfortable, clean, and had a charming deck with a nice view of palm trees with visiting birds. The location was excellent. I slept well. My traveling companion enjoyed the restaurant and the fitness center, saying they were lovely. I will definitely come back to this hotel the next time I'm in Tucson. No doubt at all!

Had a chance to stay at La Posada on our way to visit several national parks. As we approached the hotel at 9pm, it was still 105 degrees in the dark! So I was afraid that we would spend all evening cooling off the room. Not so! We were given a beautiful top floor room with a good air conditioner and ceiling fan. This room had a private balcony overlooking the manicured pool area. In the morning we enjoyed a buffet-style breakfast that well out-paced your typical choice hotel offerings. ... Read more

We stayed a few nights at this hotel for a convention in Tucson and our experience was poor, at best. Both sinks in the room dripped constantly. The only solution for the bar sink was for maintenance to turn of the supply line, leaving us without the use of that sink. The refrigerator/freezer had not been defrosted in a very long time, making it marginally useful. The room was noisy. The A/C worked but not very well. There are many choices for lodging in Tucson so we wont ever stay here again.

The front desk is really friendly and helps you when they can. The restaurant food is ok and the service there is good and friendly. The rooms are clean and have a balcony facing the Sunrise. We did not use the pool but it looked ok. Breakfast is included and is basic. Plastic plates and cups are used for breakfast.. but its free so I cant really complain about that. Wifi is excellent, the speed is great.

This is our second time staying at La Posada on our summer vacation with our 3 kids. We also stayed there 2 years ago. We stayed in a casita which is basically a studio apartment. We had a king bed and a pull out couch as well as a microwave and refrigerator in a small kitchen with counter space. Each casita has a little backyard, too. The pool is wonderful--10 feet deep at the deep end with a waterfall. Last time we stayed 4 nights. This time we only stayed one night but we wished we coul... Read more

This Hotel is reasonable, clean, centrally located and it includes a solid breakfast, a very clean pool and excellent grounds. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms could use a little updating but they were very clean and the view of the mountains was beautiful!

Stayed for one night 6 days into our 16 day road trip. The rooms are adequate, ours was hot and took a while to cool down. The views are great though and they have a nice pool and jacuzzi (doesn't do much for Arizona in August though). Well worth the money, especially if you get a good deal.

So the beds were comfy, but the AC was not the best. It did not reach to the sink or the bathroom area....who can put makeup on in the heat and humidity :-) The pool was OK. Very warm and decking burnt our feet. I know the resort doesn't have total control over other guests, but there was a group of people that had 5 kids that monopolized the pool, taking over every area we tried to relax in. Shame on those parents yes! Many people came and left very quickly. When it got to be 11pm and th... Read more

We have stayed at La Posada three times in the past 18 months for the State Championship swim meets held in Oro Valley. There are many things that we appreciate about La Posada. The staff is friendly, efficient, and responsive to the needs of guests. The breakfasts are perfect for our swimmers. The rooms are quite different from the run-of-the-mill hotel room...they have character and charm, and they are quite clean! Overall experience was great :) First, the staff are fabulous; namely, Alli, Mattie, Javier, Marcus, Jose, the breakfast staff, the maids and everyone else! Thanks a lot to you, guys: very friendly, accommodating, and pleasant no matter what time of the day, in spite of the sizzling summer heat of Arizona. Our room is quiet (except the road traffic noise) which we didn't hear much while we're inside the Spanish theme decorated room. I love watching the sun rising behind the Santa Catalina Mou... Located on north side of Tucson towards Oro Valley. East of I-10, just south of Orange Blossom on S.R. 77. Arrived late, hotel looks very nice at night, warm and inviting, very Spanish / Southwest look and theme. Check-in was quick and professional. Stayed in Casita # 8, down one level from 2nd floor entrance level. Attached restaurant which I did not get to try. I stayed at La Posada for 4 nights this month and found the rooms to be old and tired. They are in desperate need of a renovation. I had several problems during my stay: 1. Room smelled like sewer upon entering 2. Room was not cleaned on the 2nd night by housekeeping 3. Locked out of my room. Maintenance had to climb in thru patio to open. 4. Patio screen door hanging from hinges. Patio sliding door broken. 5. In-room telephone broken. 6. Night staff were rude and not helpful. 7. Rooms a... Read more

Don't get me wrong. This is a 3-star-hotel. HOWEVER, it has lots of charm with it's western theme and has a great green area on the first floor with cute little patios. Good pool. Staff was nice. Rooms were relatively clean for the most part. The TV service was sketchy and glitched the whole time. Do NOT eat at the hotel restaurant as it has HORRIBLE service! I like this little hotel though. It's almost boutique. I'd stay there again.

The hotel was a great surprise. The rooms are southwestern with tile floors. The staff are great and very helpful. The hotel was a little difficult to find but well worth the effort. The same corporation own the hotel next door so you can get coffee early if you want it. La Posada is strict about starting breakfast at 6:30. The breakfast looked better next door. I would like to be say the hotel was very good, but the Casita (we stayed in No.5) was a bit of a disappointment. The sink was chipped, the door to the 'patio/yard' did not lock which was a bit worrying and the outside patio was in need of some TLC, the plants in the brick bed were dead and the shrubs were overcrown and unkempt. The pool area and gardens were excellent and beautifully kept, so not sure why the private patios were so poor. We came back to the hotel after a very hot morning a... Read more

This hotel was our first stop after driving down from Phoenix. It is wonderfully located amid many attractions and restaurants. We had a ground floor casita ( it had a small kitchen area with a microwave and refrigerator) which was quiet and comfortable with an enjoyable southwestern motif. Beautiful, charming and unique. As we traveled from California to San Antonio this was a priceless find. Our room, as it seems is the case with all rooms, had a wonderful view. We will definitely stay again at La Posada. I really wanted a hotel close to Sullivan's Eatery and Creamery. Turns out that La Posada is close to many stores -very convenient. We are used to Marriott beds and found these beds very nice. You may want to bring your own pillow if you like feather pillows or flatter pillows, because all of the pillows were very plump and firm. Quiet, comfortable and lovely setting. Not the typical hotel setting overlooking parking lots. Location is not immediately off interstate but a reasonable distance. I thought the price was comparatively inexpensive and a great value. This is one of the few hotels that I wished I could have stayed longer than overnight. Nice pool. For breakfast you can sit on the veranda overlooking the pool and gardens. Very pleasant.
