"This motel is aging and after many years of hosting gem show dealers as well as regular visitors, this lodging, it is to continue, will need some progressive 'upgrades' - as well as more proficient staffing - especially during the Feb. gem show time - for both dealers perhaps as well as us - the potential buyers who stayed there (when able to access our room)~! We were guests for three nights, Feb. 8th, 9th, and 10th in 2013. On the night of Feb. 9th, we returned to this hotel just after midnight to find upstairs door unlocked, but neither room key would open or door. There was no attendant and no security we could find - there in main part of hotel where we were guests on 2nd floor. We had no choice (other than to sleep in the hall) but to look for another lodging for the night in order to return the next day to our hotel at the Executive Inn of Tucson. While the owner is a young man, i believe he is committed to his father's and now his own hotel business and I truly wish them well if they are able to upgrade this lodging property for there are many issues on different levels I know they must be aware of. Some are broken or no-working 'things' in the rooms, some are vending machines that 'take $$ but don't give out - (the one in main floor, main building still owes me either a drink or my dollar back~!) - and other issues we noted had to do with lack of staffing and especially experienced staffing - since just because a 'warm body' greets you - doesn't mean anyone knows how to assist guests, problem solve or accommodate when 'key to room' de-activates - if anyone is even on premises~! To get to financial 'compensations' - one can only hope that when a guest is referred back to 'Book It' to have this happen...since that is who 'took the money' - we must hope this survey will serve to do some good for the hotel...and my very disappointed 'partner' who booked this trip on his credit card will be eventually compensated and returned some $$ - and especially for the night we had to spend additional $$ to stay elsewhere while locked out of our room at the Executive Inn on Feb. 9th, 2013. Would be more than willing to keep in touch with your Survey Reviews if invited to do so in order to track the progress on this particular complaint."

"Our stay started with the fact that we ordered (and was confirmed in writing) a king bed. We got two doubles with no option to correct to the king. The owner said there was 'nothing he could do'! Next the room: Horrendously awful!! Stained and uncleaned carpet. Not working sink plumbing, corroded sink and shower fittings. A broken lamp left in the room. Balcony door-wall has nonfunctional corroded hardware. filth everywhere. Old tube style TV with no remote to be found. The fitted bed sheets were the wrong size and tacky. The bed pillows were ugly, bulgy, felt and looked as if they were stuffed with scrap polyester fiberfill and old carpet foam. Our awful stay was topped off by our key cards not working after returning to our room from dinner. No-one was to be found who could replace or reprogram our key cards. We had to leave and rent a local fleabag hotel room and without having access to our belongings in our room at the Executive Inn until the next morning.
The next day the owner said he would not even consider to refund us for the missed night due to his screwed up key system. Warn all of your friends to not even consider the dump called Executive Inn & Suite of Tucson. The owner is a 'low-life' with no regard for ethical business and quality standards."
