A nice stay at a newly renovated hotel. Normally stay at the Alvernon location, which is in need of updates, so was nice to have a good option within the area. Other than breakfast I'd recommend you try another dining option.

We stayed here one night on the way from Texas to California. It's a beautiful hotel all-around, from the architecture to the way the pool and common areas are laid out. The landscaping is lush and gorgeous, not what you would ordinarily expect in Arizona. The room was also very nice, with a great bathroom (hot water in shower and good water pressure) and comfortable beds. The rooms were laid out well, with a comfortable sofa facing the TV in one room and the bed facing another TV in the o... Read more

Internet service is good, rooms are clean but lack any real cooking facilities. Good breakfast selections. Overall service is very good, though amenities have declined with the changeover to Doubletree. Cookies don't make up for what was lost.

I always experience friendly and helpful staff. I usually travel on business. The staff call me by name, ask if they can help, the location is excellent and has places to dine. The accommodations and staff are excellent and friendly. It is easy to reach any part of Tucson or jump on the freeway.

I really like this place. Room entrances are courtyard style overlooking the very nicely landscaped pool area. Lots of cactus and tile. Very nicely done. The bottom of the pool is tiled as well. Careful, it is slippery if you are expecting concrete! The rooms are suites, very spacious "living room" with wet bar, frig, and microwave; desk, couch, chair, and plenty of daylight. The bedroom is just as big. Nice firm bed that does not sag or sink. Lots of counter space by the sink. Separat... Read more

we visit Tucson yearly to see our son. We arrived in town ahead of time and needed a place to stay. This was our first time at a Double tree hotel. This place was wonderful. Newly renovated. Suites were extremely roomy and had all the extras. The breakfast were delicious and staff very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Tucson.

Check in was super fast, there was this young girl at the counter when we got there named Victoria, she was very helpful and kind, felt very welcoming. The room service was great, breakfast was very good, and hit the spot. My mother and I will be returning that is for sure. The one thing that I miss is the pool.

This is a renovated hotel, so when you first drive up, do not panic, since it has an older looking style. The rooms are larger than I've stayed at other Double Trees. There are large flat screen TVs in the living room and bedroom. The beds were comfortable. We did not use the pull out couch, so cannot speak to that sleep area. The pool area complete with a larger jacuzzi is beautiful. The included buffet breakfast has a good selection of items to choose from. The staff is friendly. There... Read more

This is a well-designed and maintained Doubletree. The rooms are large and surround a well-landscaped courtyard with a nice pool and hottub. The rooms are nicely designed with a large living room area and large seperate bedroom. There are exposed brick walls that separate guest rooms from each other, so there is very little noise transmitted room to room. The only thing missing from my room was a full length mirror. My husband and I stayed at the DoubleTree Suites this past weekend and were very happy with the size of the room and the friendly service. The location was great, being right in the center of Tucson, which allowed for quick and convenient travel everywhere we wanted to go. The room was clean and included breakfast! Rooms are nice. Sleep was good I liked the 2 room suites. The pool area was also nice and clean. The only thing is the coffee could be better, it seemed like they diluted it and so did the juices. Breakfast staff and experience could be better. They ran out of bowls for cereal, I asked for some and was brought some super small chile bowls.

While trying to decide where to stay in Tucson, I chose this hotel because of their picture on their website. It turned out to be a really great choice. The rooms are clean, the staff was very friendly, and the breakfasts were great. And it turns out that this hotel was very centrally located and easy to get to other destinations. What a great welcome to Tucson! The hotel is clean and well maintained. Rooms are up-to-date and well proportioned, although the bathroom is rather small. The alarm clock with Apple charger (for iPhone 5 and higher) was a bonus too. We stayed here with 5 of us in a room with 2 doubles and a sofa bed. Plenty of room. All public areas were extremely clean. The staff no matter where in the hotel were very friendly and accommodating.

For events in Phoenix, I like staying in Tucson. It's breaks my trip in half and the city is less populated with all the same amenities. I find it cooler in Tucson as well. Checked into the DT for just one night. The front desk reception was very nice and we were checked in and heading to the hotel room. The last thing she did was give us 4 warm and lovely chocolate chip cookies (with nuts too!). We had to get directions to our room because this is a part of town where things walk away on their own volition (if you know what I mean, wink, wink say no more). After reading many of the reviews, some good, some not-so-good, I had a bit of trepidation about our stay but now would say no worries! Only reason I didn't give the hotel a 5-star is, funny as it sounds, the smell of the lobby. It just smelled old, sort of like my grandmother's basement. It was very clean, light, and airy, staff were fantastic and helpful, but that was just my first impression. Our room was a poolside suite and very nice, clean, and looked to be recently updated. I really love the quality of the stay. The affordability of the stay was a bonus. The bathroom looked like it had been remodeled recently and it was CLEAN! The bed was made every day. The only thing I would suggest is that unless you have white noise, you will want to request a room that is not at the front of the hotel. The front is right on Broadway and it gets a lot of heavy traffic. This is not the hotel's fault, but it is what it is. There are rooms that are more quiet than others. Breakfas... Read more

The hotel grounds are very nicely done. The pool is great. Rooms are nicely decorated and it is nice to have the sink outside of the bathroom. This is a very old hotel. We travel a lot staying in mid range hotels. Out of the 28 rooms we stayed in since mid July, this is the worst. I loved the granite counters, large rooms, comfort high toilets and non skip tub. But, the ground floor suite was very musty.
