I arrived quite early in the day and was really pleased that I was able to check into my room then. The rooms were quite nice, and quiet. It seemed there was some kind of a sensor that determined when I was / wasn't in the room, as every time I returned it was clear that the air conditioning hadn't been on. The Internet was a bit slow during the day, but it worked great in the evening. The place is quite trendy. It has a nice pool - too bad I didn't get to enjoy it. The location is conveni... Read more

The hotel is geared towards the younger crowd. The rooms, while very modern, don't have closets and dressers, but rather cubbies and curtained off areas to store you clothes. Fine for an overnight trip, not good for a multiple day stay. The room was very clean. The beds are quite firm. They have a nice happy hour. They don't really have a restaurant--there is some grab and go items in an area in the lobby and they do have some cooked breakfast items you can get from that same area in the morning... Read more

I prefer to stay in the aloft whenever I can, not only because I'm an SPG member but becuase I know what I'm going to get. I like the hip feel, the lack of formal ambience, the free coffee (for SPG members) and free Wifi. I would stay here again next time I'm in Phoenix.

Have been staying at the Aloft in Tempe for 5 years now whenever I head out to Arizona for spring training. Hotel is excellent! Location is perfect, close to the airport and not too far from any of the stadiums. Will continue staying here every visit and would recommend to anyone going to Arizona. Great hotel, great value!

I had always wanted to try this Aloft, so clearly visible next to the In-N-Out Burger in Tempe, but my stay was very poor, unfortunately. From the moment I arrived, things went poorly. First, despite the preferences clear in my starwood account, I was apparently assigned to a first floor room, which would have been loud and horrible. Once I was placed into a 2nd floor room, I found that the air conditioning did not work. After the technician tried for a while to resolve it (he later said it ... Read more

The property is a typical Aloft with all that entails. Its location near ASU and the airport along with very attractive weekend rates, makes it a very good option. The staff are very friendly and the decor perky. I got a high-floor room facing the back, which was very quiet. I like Aloft rooms except for the lack of a decent seating area (either one sits on the bed or on a desk chair). Other than that, everything worked well, including the AC which was a heaven send since the temperature on t... Read more

Stayed here for my son's graduation. This property is in dire need of renovation. Carpet on hallways and rooms have wrinkles on them big enough to trip on. Pool table in the lobby had cups in the pockets to catch the balls. The layout of the room is open. There are no closet or drawers to put your clothes in. You get shelves and a rod to hang clothes on covered by a curtain. The only perk in this place is that it's walking distance to restaurants.

Very disappointed in this property. Stayed 2 nights. Asked for our room to be made up from first night never happened. Sink did not drain. no new towels for second day. looked like someone smashed wall did a cheap patch up. carpet in hall is wrinkled up, couldn't get shade to dark out room, ice was in a baggy in lobby so if you needed ice you would have to go to lobby, It reminded me of a hostel that I stayed in that we paid way to much. Room was VERY small. Was not comfortable to visit with my ... Read more

Let me first say that I am a huge fan of the Aloft hotel brand. Aloft provides a reasonably priced way of staying at a more modern hotel. I've stayed at a number of Alofts previously, and this experience was a bit of a let-down. The Aloft in Tempe seems to have been there for a while - either that, or the hotel has taken too much abuse. It's not in need of a renovation, but it is in need of a good cleaning, that is for sure. The hallways seemed a bit dirty and banged up (if you look closely... Read more

I've stayed at Alofts in several cities and this one is in need of attention. The rooms are tired - especially the carpeting - and the amenities are sparse. The air conditioning unit is VERY loud and goes from one extreme to the other. But the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Most Alofts are very similar...and that's a good thing; you know what to expect. Very modern rooms without the foof and fuss of their parent property (the W hotel). This hotel is close to ASU without being stuck among all the traffic of campus (it's across Tempe Town Lake). It's a perfect location with easy access to the highway if you're going to spend time at ASU and explore the rest of the city. Being a college location, it does get somewhat rowdier than other Alofts, but nothing extreme. Wh... Read more

Aloft hotels are one of my favorite hotel brands. I've stayed in the ones in San Antonio, Philadelphia, Birmingham, Charlotte, Montreal, and this one in 2013 and the other one by the airport in 2011. I arrived around 3:30 on a Friday after a drive from Las Vegas via Prescott. On my way up to my room, I noticed the carpet in the hallway was very rumpled and loose in some places. My room was what I've come to expect from an Aloft except that there was a big rip in the carpet near the bathroom, t... Read more

If it's the ambiance fine, but honestly it felt like a dorm. The decor was all right, but for the most part the place was kind of grimy and icky. I highly recommend finding another space to land for the night.

The Aloft tempe is a comfortable stay all in all. It's a good place to crash for the price, and close to food, Tempe Marketplace, and other great venues around Mill Avenue. Stayed here for a night. Hotel is easy to get in and out of, very modern and chic and love that it's an SPG hotel. Forewarning that the rooms are a bit small, but don't really feel cramped. The hotel is designed for the traveling person who is just looking for a comfortable place to stay for a night or two.

Friendly staff - family friendly environment - Super clean hotel. You, have everything you need in the hotel and literally right across the street. perfect location. Also a simple hop on the 202-- you can get in the 101 N/S plus a 5 min drive to the 51 N/S bound. Scottsdale is but a 10 min drive and you're in the heart of ASU. Affordable too.

I booked a one night stay as a gift for my niece and her husband through a third party website. I wanted to arrange a free breakfast for them. I contacted the front desk, and spoke with Kristina, who was extremely helpful and graciously made the necessary arrangements. My niece let me know the hotel is "so cool." Without a great staff, the most beautiful hotel can be a nightmare.

This hotel appears to cater to business travelers or GenX guests. Very modern but efficient and fair size rooms. Hallway carpeting on 3rd Floor, could use replacement, but truly the only thing I could find to complain about. Nice bar in Lobby area and a small but very well stocked, self service food area. Also has small Kitchen/menu to fix primarily breakfast items, but also accommodated special diet needs. Please note that there is limited place to eat, but you are allowed to take your foo... Great location if you need to be close to the marina. The hotel is also close to run/bike path which runs on both sides of the river. Checkin was quick and friendly. I am very pleased with the size of the double rooms. I travelled with my 2 kids and it was roomy enough for the 3 of us. It also had 2 queen beds which was perfect for sharing. Sheets and towels were reasonably soft. My only complaint about the room is the air conditioning which was pretty loud. I also booked in advanced w... Read more

Stayed 3 nights for business and enjoyed the modern decor and unique room layout. Room size was generous and bed was comfortable. Front desk staff was always friendly. Shower and bathroom lighting was a bit dark, but still ok. Carpeting in hallway needs to be stretched as it has many ripples but overall it was clean. It is very near the highway and In-N-Out so traffic noise is heard constantly. Starbucks is across the street so I never ate breakfast at the hotel. It's also near the Tempe Marketp... Read more

I stayed here to prepare and participate in the Ironman Arizona. The hotel has a very attractive lobby with a nice seating area and bar. Also a large "kitchen" area where you can pick up many lunch, breakfast and desert items. This is also the area where you pick up ice bags to supplement the little refrigerator in your room. The rooms are spacious and quiet. The bathroom is conveniently laid out and provides additional space for storage. At night I did not hear the airplanes so the windows must... Read more
