This resort gives you the best of Sedona!!! Must stay.. Very excellent staff and resort offers. The resort has great amenities and great food. I stayed at other hotels in Sedona and this by far gave the full experience. The pool is heated and there are fire pits on the property

A true professional, Manager of Housekeeping, Jesse Limon turned an otherwise average (by Kimpton standards) experience into one we left feeling very satisfied about. He is a true asset to management, and we appreciated all his efforts in making good on a particular situation.

Overall very satisfied with my stay. Nice option of complimentary coffee in the AM and wine in the afternoon. Our room was less than satisfactory. The door was extremely heavy and the location was almost underground which was unfortunate. It seemed like a bottom level room Despite what we paid. We still enjoyed the grounds and the options were good. I would not invest in a massage though. I spent 300 dollars on a spa package that I was less than impressed with. The pedicure was amazing, the mass... Read more

What an absolute find! When we arrived in Sedona we were blown away by the scenery. On arrival at our hotel we were blown away by the service and amenities. So much so that we decided to stay another night! All the staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. Super friendly and efficient. We loved the wine hour both nights. The staff even dropped extra Prickly Pear Punch up to our room as they saw how much our children enjoyed that (non-alcoholic of course!!) I. The morning there is als... Read more

I will admit that, when first searching for a place in Sedona, my preference was to stay either at Enchantment or at L'Auberge. While in Sedona, we stopped by both. Enchantment is lovely, but decently far from town on a rather poor, unlit road. It's more of a getaway location. L'Auberge was lovely as well. That said, I can't imagine it was worth twice the price of what we paid and received at Amara. From the moment we arrived at Amara, every request was met with incredibly fast and smiling... Read more

My son and I were looking to take a long weekend trip to the Grand Canyon. Our travel agent recommended staying in Sedona and making the 1 hour car ride to the canyon instead of staying in the area of the Grand Canyon. I am so happy that she did; otherwise we would not have ever visited Sedona. We stayed in the Amara which lies right on Route 89A in upper Sedona. While some may consider this too touristy, I felt it was a great convenience to be located within walking distance to restaurants,... Read more

We ended our week long road trip here. After all the mud and melting snow, some rain and red mud was a nice change. This hotel was wonderful to come back to. The front desk was charming and helpful, ron was spacious and luxurious, and pool area was really something. We would have enjoyed more time and bluer skies to enjoy that. We'll have to return to use more of the amenities on another Arizona trip. Highly recommended. But then, I've yet to go to a Kimpton I didn't love.

I have just finished up a long weekend at Amara with my MIL and there is so much I could say, but here is the cliff notes version! First of all, beautiful hotel with a stunning view. Clean, comfortable rooms. Loved the hot tub in the evening (even in December). The location was also perfect for exploring, so much in walking distance! The resort fee is totally worth it... take advantage of the yoga, steam rooms, coffee, bikes and wine hour. We certainly did! Friendly staff was a bonus. We also qu... Read more

I was pleasantly surprised. It looks like Kimpton took this property over and made it its own. And they've done a great job. It is however, a little hidden, so arrival is tricky down what I thought was a private winding road. There are a few parking lots off to each side so I wasn't exactly sure that I was going in the right direction...but keep on, and you'll find a pull through driveway up to check in. It is tight, and could potentially get backed up, however when I checked in it was quic... Read more

We stayed three nights here for a group retreat. The location is very good: short uphill walk to main street restaurants and shops. The street the Amara Resort is on is more like an alley. We missed it the first time, thinking it was just a driveway (which it pretty much is) and not a road. They are able to accommodate small group (about 35? people) meals and meetings, though the meeting room had some heat and air issues that they worked on while we were meeting. We didn't actually eat in the ... Read more
