Wonderful service- friendly from the moment we entered. The room was large, but needed a refresh. The shower/tub combo looked dated and had a grimy shower curtain. I always find it odd to pay $500 for a room and then not have free wifi. The hot tub was broken during our stay-- given the chilly temps this was not ideal. I think the hotel would have been well served to comp the resort fee for guests.

We love Kimoton hotels, having stayed in them in Philadelphia, San Diego, Vero Beach, Boston and Alexandria. Location perfect. Service seemed impeccable again, BUT, we had a problem that really impacted our stay. Our first morning, the shower was so hot that it approached being scalding. It was unadjustable. Upon asking at the front desk for it to be remedied, we were told that we were not using it correctly and that we had to push in and then turn. Next morning, same thing, more unbearab... Read more

My wife and I recently stayed here, as it was our first time to Sedona. We were celebrating our anniversary and the hotel staff gave us a free upgrade upon arrival. Our room was perfect! Updated and clean. I really enjoyed the setting and view. It's on the main drag, but tucked away closer to the river, so you don't hear any noise from the street. We mostly sunbathed during the day. It's a beautiful pool with a picturesque view of the red rock. Also, the service and food were amazing. It was pri... Read more

Such a nice hotel and location. Everyone was super friendly. Service was wonderful. I would have no problem taking the family and grandchildren there again. Very walkable to most areas. Good restaurants and treats nearby. My husband and I did some nice hikes and it was easy to get to those locations.

Nice hotel but pricey. You pay for all the extras--not enough glasses, wash clothes in the rooms. We either had scalding water or Luke warm. Too fancy for a practical family hotel. Great coffee in morning in the Lobby but none in the room. Hot tub was broken.

Here for two nights during the week. We really enjoyed our stay, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and our room was nice. Nothing fancy or particularly special about the room, but it was clean, spacious and the bedding was comfortable. Amara is an absolute gem. The hotel opens in the back to face the red rocks you are in Sedona to see. We were fortunate to have a second floor room on the side (right) facing out over "Snoopy" rock and the pool/lounge area. The setting is incredibly romantic and relaxing. An added bonus is the morning yoga class - not the most intense class, but a lovely way to start the day.

We had such a wonderful experience at Amara. A+ hospitality. Great restaurant, cozy rooms, complimentary coffee/tea in the morning, wine hour in the evening. Centrally located in Sedona, walking distance to uptown. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

The hotel next door is amazing But we had a great time for a much more reasonable price at Amara I did visit the spa at both LAuberge and Amara and for 50.00 less you get a bit more at Amara The food at the restaurant was great Rooms comfortable

Rooms are not that great & service is not that good. Parking lot entrance especially in the night is poorly lit and narrow. Not a good experience for us. I will never stay in this hotel when we go to Sedona again.

Visited here as recommended for drinks with friends. Perfect cocktails and snacks and an infinity pool in view from the outdoor bar. Good, fast service with polite staff. We were not resident so cannot review any rooms etc.

I decided to go to Sedona at the last minute. Did a little poking around and found Amara on a Saturday and arrived on Monday. The setting is fantastic. 3 minute walk to the main drag and right on a little river. There's an infinity pool that looks out over the trees with a fantastic view of some of Sedona's famous red rocks. I hit the Spa pretty hard. Did Yoga every morning (I'd recommend reserving a spot early as it filled up every day), got a guided meditation session, reflexology, a 9... Read more

The hotel room are very comfortable with beautiful bathrooms. Its position is very close to the center of Sedona giving easy access to bars, restaurants and shops. There are also beautiful views of the red rocks close by. The hotel is pet friendly ( we only saw dogs)which may not suit everyone. The only thing which I felt it lacked was more inside open space in the cool to sit and drink and possibly read etc. although it does have a larger outside space.

We stayed here during the summer, and were immediately enamored with the red rock views. We spent a lot of time by the pool just to soak it all in! The on-site restaurant was decent, and helpful since we arrived quite late in the day. The room was comfortable. The concierge was really helpful in selecting a place for dinner our second night, and offering to make reservations for us. Amara was also centrally located; we still preferred to take our car or their shuttle off the property, as it was ... Read more

Overall, The Amara is a nice resort. The room is a decent size, location is awesome, and the property layout is comfortable and inviting. The courtyard lawn next to the pool has games and comfy chairs looking past the infinity pool out to the creek. They had the evening wine reception there and it was really nice. The Amara truly is a pet friendly resort. They don't just allow dogs, they welcome them. You don't have to stay in just certain room types, and the room didn't smell like a lot of o... Read more

We stayed here after our hike in the Grand Canyon, and it was a nice relaxing and intimate stay. Pros: restaurant and bar: wonderful food and service with excellent outside seating. On Saturday, they had a Spanish guitarist playing outside near the fountain under a starlit sky with the red rocks in the background. It was wonderful. The food was delicious as well... didn't taste like processed and packaged food you often find in a hotel. Rather it was a unique restaurant on its own. Service:... Read more

I went here for mothers 60 birthday and it was everything! The infinity pool over looks the red rocks with such beauty. The hotel is small and boutique like. It is located right on the strip and you can walk up or down to any restaurants. I wish the restaurant in the hotel had more food options... Especially more chicken options. They serve drinks by the pool as well as food. The have a great court yard with corn hole game "lol" they have fire pits as well. The hotels spa was also wonderful. Th... Read more

My son lives in Flagstaff and arranged for 3 nights in this awesome hotel. Cool, clean and comfortable, we enjoyed the ambience and the convenience of walking to the shops. Bell Rock and other sights all within a short drive.

Our room view was trees and a creek, room large, clean and comfortable. Service outstanding, front desk personnel were courteous, helpful and friendly. Only complaint is the hotel puts a $27 daily "resort charge" but does not explain what is for. At over $500 a night for a room, this charge is absurd.

Situated well down the hill from the main street in Sedona this 5 star retreat offers a warm welcome. The rooms are spacious and the hotel has magnificent views out to the countryside in the background. There is a standing additional charge on each room of $27 over and above the room rate for Valet Parking and the mini bus service up and down to the main street, "certainly required" but one would have thought that at $250 a night that could be included. The hotel was offering complementary coffe... Read more

The spa was spectacular; a bit crowded for a true spa - felt like too much was squeezed into a small space, but was really nice. I had a relaxation massage and truly enjoyed the therapist. The men's sauna/steam room was unfortunately out of order at the time of the visit.

This was the first trip for my husband and myself to Sedona. The natural beauty of the area is breathtaking! The Amara resort was very pricey, in my opinion, but I don't regret a minute of my stay! We were updated to a beautiful suite (without even asking) with lovely views of the creek and a woodsy area. The suite was spacious, with a comfy bed, beautiful bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub and a shower. I made reservations for the morning yoga followed by a massage at the spa. The yoga is free, but t... We spent 5 days in Sedona at the Amara Resort. The location was excellent and within walking distance to everything. The resort was lovely and the view was amazing from the outdoor eating and pool area. I would recommend this hotel for couples.

I. Loved. This. Place. It was incredibly beautiful, serene and quiet. Our suite overlooked the creek and one of the big red rocks of the area. We heard cicadas like crazy outside on our deck and that was pretty cool. There is an infinity pool that looks out over the creek and big red rock. The room was nicely appointed. There was a big lawn between the buildings, the restaurant and the pool, where there were lawn games to play. There were fire pits for sitting around and drinking wine in ... Read more

We only stayed one evening at this hotel but it was enjoyable. Hotel is walking distance to restaurants and shops - convenient location. The hotel sits down on a cliff from the main street so while convenient to the main street, it also quiet and relaxing. It is quite a challenging walk up the hill or stairs but quite pretty and the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service to nearby locations. The lobby is welcoming and the service was excellent upon arriving. The room was nice and clea... Read more

Amara was everything other reviewers have said. Comfortable rooms/public spaces. Attentive staff. Inventive food. Loved in-room yoga mat and free morning yoga. Pool was over crowded in afternoons. I've never seen welcome signs for pets, but there they were with water dish at the resort's front door. Perfectly situated on the main drag, but down in the valley, so you feel away from the Sedona hustle and bustle. Became a Kimpton fan on this trip.

My husband and I were there for our 35th anniversary. We loved everything about Amara! The views from the restaurant and pool area are spectacular. We had many meals at the restaurant and all were very good. Our room which was on the creekside was very large and comfortable. We had a very nice private balcony. The pool was awesome . Easy access to Sedona which has many shops and restaurants. Amara offers a shuttle within a 1 mile radius which was nice when we went to dinner. We also used the ... Read more

Very expensive but lovely. Staff great. Inclusive wine hour. Comfortable room, but don't take valet parking unless u are disabled. Big charge ($27) for a walk of 5 minutes from free parking. Gorgeous pool terrace. Ideal for breakfasts, which is also lovely. Second best resort in Sedona. L'Auberge even better but next door-and we used their facilities as it's their sister hotel. Go try!!!

Being this is my first trip to Sedona, I can only review based on my limited experiences with this gorgeous touristy town. We stayed in a room with two queen beds for over $1000 for two nights. It came with only complimentary coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. As a true down to Earth Northwesterner, the "luxury" aspect of this resort is lost on me. The location of the resort is choice and I very much appreciate their complimentary shuttle service for going out to dinner and such. I... Read more

We stayed at the Amara in October 2016. This was our first trip to Sedona and I wanted everything to be flawless, unfortunately, the Amara was fine, but not perfect. For the price we paid, more than $600/night, we wanted perfection. There were positives to this hotel. Every staff member we encountered were friendly and eager to help. The valets (valet parking price included in the all too common anymore ā??resort feeā??) quickly got to our car. The hotel is located down a hill from the mai... Read more
