A two hour drive from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport found us at this 40 room motel. We booked a king size room with fireplace on the second floor and were very pleased with the accommodations. The room was clean, had a flat screen tv, free wifi, mini fridge, microwave and the bed was very comfortable. We were within walking distance of coffee shops, restaurants and breakfast cafe and were completely surrounded by the breath taking red rock formations. I'm told there was a remodel at this inn recently. The room was wonderful, spacious and very well appointed. The hotel is great value for the Sedona area. No free breakfast and the pool is just a bit small, but well located. Get a room on the second floor for more quiet.

We stayed at the Desert Quail Inn for three nights last week. The king bed room on the 2nd floor was very clean, quiet and very moderate in price for Sedona. No special views. It is in area where there are several cafes and restaurants, but a 15 minute drive into Sedona where all the shops are. Across the street were the Sedona Outlet Shops which appeared to be suffering from low occupancy. No breakfast is served so we relied on a nearby bakery and cafe for our breakfasts. Lovely little inn by the roadside. The rooms were quite spacious and look to have been remodeled in the past couple years. They did a great job on the remodel ... comfortable king bed, nicely painted, great flat screen with Directv, little office area, nice sofa seating area. The bathroom was clean with nice shower but the designer got a toilet that was too big and the door had to be notched out to close which we didn't mind we just thought it was funny.

Basic, very clean hotel. But very comfortable with mini fridge and microwave. My husband and I stayed here over the weekend for a conference that I had. For some reason, the first room we were in made us feel sick - sore throat, congested, etc. Now mind you we were already a little sick - so I'm not quite sure if it was that or something else. The room just felt stuffy for some reason. We talked to the front desk staff the second day, as we still had another night/day there. He was more than hel... Read more

We recently were in Sedona to celebrate our anniversary and stayed at the Desert Quail Inn. This inn is located a short distance from Sedona and is a great and reasonable place to stay. The rooms are large, very clean and it is obvious that the owner really cares about his customers. Just a very short walk from the inn is a delicious restaurant to enjoy breakfast with a discount for staying at the inn. We will definitely returned to this little gem in Sedona --- the Desert Quail Inn!

This was a chance play for us. We had driven in from Las Vegas at around 9PM, pulled into a restaurant parking lot and then started looking for a hotel. Honestly, we went to the Desert Quail Inn because there was virtually nowhere else to go. We were so pleased the moment we walked in because it was so spacious and very clean. All of the positive reviews are spot on. We stayed here last week and could not be happier with our choice of this hotel while visiting Sedona. The motel is located just a few scenic miles south of Sedona and is actually closer to many hiking trails than Sedona. The rooms were larger than most chain hotels and were very clean and modern. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was large with a comfy bed. This place is a short drive to beautiful hikes and just a few more minutes drive into Sedona. We will definitely book here again!!

The room was clean, and quiet. It was near a grocery store, and close to hiking trails. It was around a 30 minute drive to Sedona, which is where we went for dinner. Very pretty views outside our hotel.

What a great place. We hadn't been able to book ahead for accommodation in Sedona and went from place to place looking for a reasonable room at a reasonable price. The gentleman at reception was very kind, polite and offered a room at a very good price, compared with the other places we had tried. He offered good advice on eateries, supermarkets and directions on the sites in the area. The room was clean, beds were comfortable and the overall inn was very quiet. I can't speak highly enough a... Read more

I picked the Desert Quail Inn pretty early in my trip planning, it having received many favourable reviews and being at a price point that worked for us. We were not disappointed in our selection. We were there for 3 nights and then another night later in the week, and the two rooms were not only identical but matched the photos on the web site. The bed was comfortable, the AC worked well, the place was generally quiet. It's not posh by any standard but it will do. The bathroom is small and ha... Read more

We've stayed here a few times. Very clean & safe. The rooms are updated & have everything you'll need. Nice pool & hot tub. The grocery store is right behind the property, as is a great restaurant for breakfast or lunch. Walkable to many Oak Creek attractions & restaurants.

We arrived here and our reservation was not correct, but the desk manager(owner?) was so helpful and nice! It's about 10 minutes from Sedona, but quiet, VERY clean, nice pool and hot tub, nice rooms at a great price. Parking for my Mustang was roomy. We would stay here again.

Booked this motel based on Trip Advisor reviews and we weren't disappointed. When we checked in I wasn't impressed by the young lady working that day, because when I walk into the office I at least expect them to greet me and she didn't but just stood there looking at me. It got better after that. The room (103) was large, super clean and very comfortable. Towels were fluffy and very white, bed linens were high quality and the bed was very comfortable. It was quiet for the most part and ver... Read more

We spent several nights and got great recommendations from the staff for both restaurants and local hiking. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Since it is on the south edge of Sedona, the drive to the north side involved navigating at least half a dozen round-abouts, but the scenery on the way was beautiful and didn't take too long. Would happily stay there again. Excellent breakfast restaurant a short walk past the pool.

In September, we spent five nights at this recently remodeled motel while visiting the Sedona area. It's 10 minutes South of Sedona near Bell Rock and Cathedral Rock. The room was well appointed, with gas fireplace and mattress was new. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub! The location was great, restaurants, cafes and ice cream shoppe are all within walking distance. Manager and staff were all very friendly and helpful! I would stay here again and recommend to my friends and family.

This was one of the best accommodations we stayed in on our trip to Arizona. It was clean and comfortable with a very friendly owner and staff. The location was scenic and serene while being close to hiking trails, restaurants, and things to do. We highly recommend this place. Ask the owner for tips and recommendations for places to eat!

Loved it. Big advantage being a short 8 minute ride from Sedona strip. Because you are right at the base of rocks and the drive either way to town is stunning. We arrived early. Our luggage was cared for by staff. Room sparkling clean, towels fluffy, linens fresh and soft. Clean carpet. Great free internet. Big screen tv, microwave, refrigerator, hair dryer, coffee pot, and soaps. Best value in town. Great hosts with lots of care and customer service. Cafe next door real home cooking... Read more

When we pulled into the property I thought this looked like the standard motel. I was wrong. This is a great value as noted previously but they do a great job in making you very comfortable. The bed was very luxurious, the bath towels were large and fluffy, and a good size flat screen TV with numerous channels to choose from including the premium channels. It would be nice to have a coffee bar available but there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

This is a 5 star review for a motel. This is not a very fancy "hotel." However, if you are looking for a comfortable place to stay in Sedona at a reasonable price point, this is an outstanding choice. The beds are comfortable, the amenities better than you would expect (towels, etc.). The manager was very friendly and helpful with local information. They have an outdoor pool. The location is right across the street from the outlet mall.

It was okay. I definitely don't think it lived up to the hype though. I could have stayed down the road at the Holiday Inn Express and gotten a much nicer room with breakfast for about the same price. I would have probably had even more privacy along with a toilet that didn't sound like it was going to blow up every time I used it. I found it very annoying that the cleaning lady's kid was riding a scooter across the walkway on the second floor at the same time my mother was walking to the do... Read more

Was in town for 3 days of golf in early September. There is a beautiful golf course less than 5 minutes from the hotel. From the road the hotel looks like it could be older, but when I got to my room, was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was; and it would be hard to do better for twice the price ! My room was very clean and the furnishings look new. The proprietors were very helpful and the husband knew where to find the best food. I would recommend this place in a heart beat!

I agree with all the positive reviews of this upscale motel. My room was comfortable with corporate-type furnishings reminiscent of a Marriott. It not only had a comfortable king bed, coffee pot, microwave & refrigerator, but a fireplace and sitting area. All for a very reasonable rate! Although highway 179 is nearby, the room was quiet & I did not hear ambient noise. That's a huge compliment from a light sleeper. We have stayed at this hotel multiple times while traveling to Sedona and it meets the needs for a good night's rest and hot shower adequately. It is not a luxury hotel but always a good value for the price. It is within walking distance to the local grocery and a good breakfast/lunch location in the Red Rock Café.
