This resort has it all. Nice rooms, casino, restaurants, and large pool. Staff was pretty good and helpful. Rooms were very modern and clean. Didn't like the smoke in the casino but you get used to it quick. Pool is huge and caters to the younger crowd with live DJ which was a great feature that makes the pool the place to hang out. Definitely be back to Talking Stick. They offer a free shuttle to old town Scottsdale as well.

Talking Stick is a large resort on the outskirts of Scottsdale. It has a very busy Casino, a couple of Golf Courses and a couple of Pool areas for sunbathing if it isn't unbearably hot. On site are several bars and restaurants ranging from from expensive to HOWMUCH! ( the exchange rate was really bad). We booked a superior room with a balcony and it was huge and really well equipped. If staying again I would recommend a car as ytaxis in Scottsdale are like hens teeth and also expensive. Being ... This hotel and casino is awesome! They are very visual with lights and have plenty of games on the casino floor. However if you are traveling with a family as well it works, the pool is amazing (there are a few) and even one that is wading length with lounging chairs. Cabanas available (when it isnt busy you can have access to them as far as when I was there). The rooms are gorgeous! So my wife and I wanted to change things up a bit and came across this place. The reviews looked good, and since we like to gamble and have a pool scene, it seemed to make sense, so we booked the trip and gave a shot, and let me tell you, it was pretty cool. The casino is on the main floor and is very modern in its décor and lay out. This is a Native American casino, so there are only virtual dice and roulette, but all the card games are present. Over all it wasn't as smoky as I feared that it ... Read more

Our 2 queen room was nice and clean. The only problem is the walls are like paper thin. You can hear people in the next room and in the halls, I realize it's a casino hotel. Wife and I just spent our anniversary night at Talking Stick Resort and I am sorely disappointed. I don't normally write reviews but felt this one needed it. Some info on us: middle aged couple looking to get a night away from the kiddos and lay out by the pool in the AM. 1) You have to walk through the casino to get to your room. As other reviews have mentioned, the customer service at Talking Stick is lacking to say the least. I am a local to Scottsdale and rented this room for my sons to have a place to stay after celebrating their 22nd birthday with the family at the hotel property. My son was later accused of some vague misbehavior by security, escorted to his room and kept there by hotel staff. A little slow in getting traffic cleared in comparison to Chase Field. Clean arena. Bathrooms were well stocked and monitored. Nice accommodations, well kept. Staff very friendly. Smoke smell not as bad as some other casinos. Shuttle driver very nice - gave a good recommendation for restaurant downtown and dropped us as close as he could. Good service and good food overall. Size is a little overwhelming, but once you find your way around, not so bad. Would stay again

Nice casino. Nice pool area. A lot of machines, bars and restaurants. Good food. If you live here, you can arrange a weekend outing, it would be so fun. It is worth it to stop by when you are visiting Scottsdale.

Floor to ceiling windows with plantation shutters frame an awesome view of the property with the four peaks mountains in the distance. The room was perfect with a walk in tiled shower with a rainmaker showerhead. King bed was super comfy.

Really enjoyed my stay here. The suite was specious and comfortable. The spa massages were great and the views were spectacular. Not a big gambler but the casino was always busy. The onsight entertainment at night was entertaining and the staff was nice.

This is the only place in the Valley I know of where you can go enjoy a cigar and a drink as well as listen to a band play & dance if you choose. It has an excellent outside patio also. The waitresses are pleasant and service is excellent.

First time to Scottsdale. So thrilled we chose this place to stay. Rooms very quiet, beds so comfy. Many places to eat, have a drink and also listen to live music. Casino on site if you wish to have a "flutter". And the staff - so so helpful. Thank you Talking Stick for making the last 3 days of our vacation, so relaxing.

Second visit to Talking Stick Resort! Stayed 2 nights in 2 club rooms! Great hotel but only one negative thing and that was we requested either 2 adjoins rooms or 2 rooms near each other! That part was very disappointing because we were extensively very far apart! Wish we had gotten an explanation as to why! Other than that rooms were clean, staff friendly & food great!

Beautiful hotel, certainly worthy of its 4 diamond rating. Loved the Buffet, "The Black Fig" deli, and the rooms were immaculate and sophisticated. Worth every cent of the room rate charged. I also did a lot of shopping at their tiny gift shop...wish it was larger with more items. Bought some T-shirts and Native American jewelry, which I am really enjoying. By the way, the Cranberry Pecan Crisp cookies at the Black Fig were absolutely delicious!

The room was both comfortable and functional. It was large enough to move around and not feel cramped. The bathroom was not a closet and there was plenty of counter space. I like coffee in the morning. A Keurig machine in the room was appreciates. They also have security at the elevators requiring guests to show their room key.

There was lots to like about the property and restaurants, but too many bad experiences for my taste. We arrived at 9:30am and our room was ready, which was great. But when we tried to use the safe it wouldn't work, so we spent probably a half an hour with security trying to get it to work. It also didn't work a couple of days later when we checked out. The room was spacious and nice, with a spectacular view. But our second night they didn't come to clean the room until 6 pm when we were ... Read more

My husband and i booked a room on hotels.com and when we submitted it it changed the date that we had selected to the week after when we would no longer be in town. We realized that the date less than 5 min after and called the hotel and were told that they are sold out and that they could not do anything but that hotels.com might refund the money but its not likely and that the talking stick had a 48 hour cancellation policy. I called hotels.com and they told me that it was the hotel policy to ... Read more

I ended up needing a last minute reservation to stay just one night nearby, and The Talking Stick came up on my phone. After a long, stressful day, and getting a bit lost around the area, i finally arrived. Samantha at the Front Desk was SUCH a BLESSING to me...she could tell i was a bit frazzled and then saw my face when i realized it was a casino and resort all in one...she was so kind to me...gave me the most quiet, BEAUTIFUL, clean room i have ever been in. I stayed two weekend nights in September (a staycation for me) and had the most relaxing, yet fun time. All hotel rooms are non smoking, which was a major plus for me. The room was spacious, comfortable and had an upscale feel. My room faced the massive pool and desert beyond. Large windows with shutters that open completely and let you take in the spectacular view. Saturday 'Release Pool Party' was filled with great DJ music, and fun atmosphere...free as well. What a disaster, but shame on us for poor judgment. This casino "resort" positions itself as a luxury accommodation with something for everyone, a la the nearby Scottsdale resorts. It's not -- at least not for families. Party animals with poor manners rule the roost here. Walking up to register with our kids (13 and 10), we passed three rockheads screaming profanities and shooting the bird at one another. When my son tried to go swimming in the pool, he stumbled on a large wad of toilet paper co... Read more

We spent 4 nights in Scottsdale and stayed at this resort. It's conveniently located to main highways, shopping, old town Scottsdale, movie theatre and so much more. We did not gamble at all during our stay though, or eat at the hotel restaurants. The hotel and its grounds are very well maintained, service is outstanding and we have absolutely no complaints.

The room was nice but the casino was so smiley. You couldn't get away from it on your way to the room. The pool area was pretty boring but the food was good there and the drinks were decent. If I were to go back for another girl's trip, I would stay near Old Town Scottsdale to be closer to the action. It's really fun down there (we are all in our 30's).

Three of us met in Scottsdale for a weekend away from our husbands and baby boys. The room was excellent. Nicely appointed, clean, and comfortable, with a decent view of Phoenix (and the parking lot, but that's not a complaint at all). We dined at the buffet on Saturday morning, and for $12, we were quite pleased with the selection. No, the food wasn't amazing, but for $12, it was a nice variety. I attended a conference for two days at the Talking Stick Resort. A casino property, the venue is well maintained (in the Vegas tradition) and has a number of venues for eating and drinking. The 15th floor restaurant, Orange Sky, is a fine-dining experience with the type of quality of food, presentation, and service that one would expect of a top-notch resort. The spectacular views afforded from virtually every seat enhances the experience and, for a business event (or romantic evening), you ... Read more

My husband and I came for a work conference. The resort looks very nice. The service was slow. And the patio that was bird poop all over the furniture. The hotel rooms could've been cleaner. They only left us with one roll of half empty toilet paper with no extra. I am sure in the future they will have more things to do and around the resort. As of right now there's not a lot going on. I would return in the future though it has potential

While staying there the maid service removed my items from the room such as my swimming suit. This meant I could not enjoy the pool while I tried to get my suit back. They offered nothing for the inconvenience and the fact I could not enjoy the pool. Also at first they thought I was not telling them the truth until after I checked out they found it and returned a few weeks later. They offered no apology, nothing. Will never stay there again.

Wanted to do something different for Thanksgiving so, we stayed at the casino Wednesday and Thursday night (we live in the local area).
