Although the location was perfect. It is very dated, I felt like I was staying at a cheap motel 6! The remote control didn't work and when I took it to the office they gave me a replacement that didn't work either. Also around 7:00am I was awaken to the staff talking loudly outside my door, Not very considerate at all!

This is my "go to" place whenever I am in AZ, which is one week every month. Front desk staff always accommodating, and friendly. Rooms are always clean. Any issues, if any, are addressed immediately. Thomas, the super is great ! Kristy, the manager, has never failed in making sure all guests are treated right. Gwen, always smiling when you check in. I'm sure I'm missing a few other staff. But they are all great !

I needed just 1 night in Scottsdale for an early morning presentation the next morning. In looking around for hotels, prices are really high, especially for the end of shoulder season. I work for a little non-profit and $200 or $300 a night or more just isn't realistic. Then this Howard Johnson came up in my search! Reviews were pretty positive so I booked my room. It was great! Now this is not a 5 star resort, but it is clean, quiet and right in the middle of Old Scottsdale, within walking... Read more

We stayed at this motel one night. It was okay but when I checked the bathtub there was some hair and used towels hanging on the shower curtain. We didn't want to irritate ourselves to talk to the office since we were going to stay one night.

Howard Johnson, 7110 E Indian School Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85251 Two couples were travelling together undertaking an epic road-trip covering Nevada, Arizona and California over a three week period ‚?? day 4 & day 5. It was a great value. Very close to all the spots, the free golf carts can come and pick you to get you around or you can just walk. The only complaint that I really have is that the thicker curtains don't actually close and cover the window, which means the sun wakes you up super early even if you wanted to sleep in. But hard to beat the price. Staff was very friendly.

HoJo is by far the best value in Old Town Scottsdale. And, being right next door to Frank and Lupe's Old Mexico restaurant is a big plus. Within easy walking distance of everything in Old Town. Rooms are always clean and well maintained. Continental breakfast is very basic, but more than adequate. All the employees are very helpful.

Awesome staff, especially Thomas who maintains the property. We had an electrical problem in our room and he worked hard trying to fix it, when he couldn't, he moved us and all our stuff with the help of a housekeeper, smiling the whole time. He took time to talk to our kids even though he was busy. Both rooms were clean and we didnt hear any noise from any of the other rooms. Would definittely stay the again.

Great location in Old Town. We booked this to enable us to walk to all area restaurants and shopping and in this respect it was perfect. Hotel itself could do with updating although reception area and pool were great. We did have a problem with fridge which wasn't rectified and all our drinks were frozen rather than chilled.

The hotel is in the center of Old Town, very close to restaurants, stores, etc. Room is not big; good size for one person; a bit cramped for two. But all in all, very clean, well-run. Not easy to see from Indian School Road (i.e., not apparent where one has to turn to get into the parking lot, particularly if traveling on opposite side of street). Nice place, well run, clean, low cost and convenient.

That being said, this property could be the hidden gem of Scottsdale, if only the owner would pay a little closer attention to the details. The hotel is located close to Scottsdale Midtown right off the blvd. Easy walking to attractions. Condition of hotel is Average. Rooms were redone at sometime, but are starting to show age. Towels are very small and old. Breakfast was minimal but OK. Parking was good, but could use a more light at night. Would be nice to see security there as well. Overall I would recommend if you are looking for a average OK place. Otherwise search others for higher levels of quality.
