We were pleasantly greeted at the reception desk and allowed to check in a little early. Our first floor room was very clean and updated. The color scheme was shades of brown with 1 orange chair which overall was rather dark. The room rate includes free wifi, continental breakfast and happy hour with lite snacks! The breakfast buffet has eggs, waffles, fruit and yogert . The rest of the items are high carb. The location is very close to Old Town Scottsdale and many art galleries.

We're here pre-AOA 5 day trip. So glad we came early, it's been a great visit. Hotel shuttle from the airport with Shelby was prompt, and she's such a great person to meet, a truly enthusiastic Arizonian. Having spent a few (expensive) days in San Francisco the value of this hotel is fabulous, the room is huge (2 in 1, as you have a sitting room as well). Theres a guest laundry $1.50 per load which, on any extended trip or any >5/6 days, is just a delight to have a bag full of clean clothes. Rel... Read more

Felt very welcomed when I checked into the Holiday Inn Express Hotel at Scottsdale. I was given a room on the top floor (3rd floor, with the 1st floor being the ground floor) away from the noise and hustle and bustle of the lobby. The rooms are a bit dated but very clean and spacious. I had a nice living room area and a decent sized bedroom that overlooked the inner courtyard, so it was quiet at all times. The staff were very friendly, too.

We love this hotel just south of Old Town Scottsdale. They have a shuttle that will take you anywhere close by for free. That means you can get to the mall, old town and all the nearby eating establishments without having to deal with the heat of your car if you are there during the hot months. The rooms are nice and the staff is attentive. There is a happy hour with beer, wine and snacks each evening and a breakfast in the morning. The pool area has a large hot tub. To some extent, this hotel is exactly what one would expect from a Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites. Having a suite was pretty nice. The suite was well-decorated, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was was fairly standard for this type of hotel, with decent hot and fresh options. The location is a little too far to walk to Old Town Scottsdale during the summer. When it isn't picking up people from the airport, the hotel shuttle will drive you to and from restaurants and Old Town Scottsdale.

We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express ,Old Town. We have been visiting the Greater Phoenix area for the past 25 years and we have stayed in an array of hotels including the Ritz when they were in Phoenix and I will say that this is one of the best. The hotel is clean and well kept and the staff is wonderful. They found out that it was my 65th birthday and they sent a gift bag to my room filled with odds and ends. They really make you feel welcome and we will definitely stay there again.

We were there for a golf tournament. Our room was nice, a little musty, but still ok. The location was very nice and centrally located to shops and many places to eat. On the first day we arrived we sat out by the pool to have a drink with friends. There was a group of people already in the area enjoying themselves. They had a large wireless speaker with music going (not my kind of music, but they were having a blast). My girlfriend and I were able to enjoy the pool area on the second day of... Read more

The crucial criteria about looking for hotels for business trips is 1) the facility is clean and updated; 2) there are enough plugs in the room to power the electronics, and convenient plugs by the bed; 3) adequate wifi. The amenities regarding a workout room, pool or food are secondary to this business traveler as there are usually meals scheduled and not enough time to use the a pool or workout. The hotel is quiet and has a very convenient location. We enjoyed their Happy Hour when we arrived which was so enjoyable after a day of travel. The staff at the Front Desk were exceptionally nice and very helpful. And, after 6 days hiking in the Grand Canyon, it was heaven to return to a nice hot sho... Read more

Beautiful hotel with great service, nice rooms and a great pool area. We'd stay here again. Our room overlooked the pool area and offered a beautiful view. The breakfast area was clean and bright and provided us with healthy eating options.

Loved our stay here, particularly the fact that the room was spacious and had a separate lounge area. Very clean, nice decor, standard breakfast and a complementary managers happy hour. Very convenient to restaurants, particularly with the tip only shuttle, and good value for Scottsdale.

A fabulous location in Old Town. We were upgraded to a one bedroom suite during check-in, which as wonderful. The room was large with a good-sized balcony, full refrigerator, plus microwave and coffee maker. A roomy bathroom with a shower large enough for a crowd. Unfortunately, housekeeping didn't show up until nearly 6 pm in the evening while we were getting ready for dinner and the hotel could not accommodate a late check-out the following day. I'd still stay here again.

What a wonderful place! Great Location... Very Close to ASU, Old Town, and fantastic surrounding sight seeing. Walkable to great restaurants and the Front Desk Staff and managers were helpful in recommendations. Thanks for the reccomendation for Culinary Dropout! The suite that we were in was very spacious and had a nice view of the pool. Clean hotel, great service, cant beat it! Thank you!

We were completely impressed with the Holiday Inn Express hotel and Suites in Scottsdale! Close enough to walk into Old Town, the property is enough outside of the hustle and bustle to be quiet at night. The staff was welcoming, warm and incredibly helpful as our weekend plans involved several different restaurants and bars. We received personalized directions to all of our destinations, and they texted us to be sure we arrived where we'd intended! The nightly 'happy hours' in the lobby were del... Read more

I switched hotels during my stay in AZ. HolidayInn Express & Suits was much more superior in their reception, customer service and the overall helping their clientele to be comfortable and happy. The Social hour was good, pool clean and inviting, coffee available 24hrs. Ad by far their breakfast buffet was extraordinary

My twins and I stayed here for three nights to attend the scorpion games. Our room was first floor, with a patio leading directly to the pool and hot tub. It was very convenient. Pool is nice, all rooms are suites with a small kitchenette. Walking distance to a lot of places such as the scottsdale stadium, walgreens, several restaurants, all within .4 miles. There is also a free shuttle that will take you anywhere within 3 miles for free. Front desk workers are so friendly. My only small com... Read more

This property is conveniently located on Scottsdale Rd, about 1 1/2 miles from the Fashion Square mall. Good sidewalks make walking easy. The property itself is well-maintained, well-staffed, with ample and easy parking. In addition to the customary morning breakfast, a manager's reception is offered several nights during the week. Would definitely stay at this property in the future.

Had a decent sized room , bedroom area, a sitting area both with tv's and a decent sized bath. The sink is outside the bathroom which I know some people don't like but doesn't bother me. Hotel has a shuttle which will take you to and from the airport or within 3 miles of the hotel. I took it to the Museum of the West and to and from the Light Rail Station to go into downtown Phoenix. Be sure to ask how long as at the times of the day when there is heavy airport pickup and drop off's you may ... Read more

Visited Scottsdale to see Taliesin West. We were very happy with our choice of the Holiday Inn. The staff were friendly and helpful; location was good and supported by a shuttle within the local area; rooms large and generous; breakfast was more than adequate; the managers reception each night was welcoming; news papers daily was appreciated; the gym was well equipped; pool and spa looked good, although we didn't use it; the establishment was well maintained and clean. We had a suite which would sleep six people comfortably, which was nice. The room and hotel were clean and nicely furnished, mainly with southwestern motif. Although we didn't have time to explore the area, the hotel is located in "Old Town" Scottsdale which would be nice to explore. Camelback Mountain is nearby.

We decided to look at the art galleries verses only shopping the touristy western merchandise . We noticed that this hotel location was nearby during a previous trip approximately 1 week earlier. We live 3 hours south and arrived to the area mid day. They let us check in early for free giving us enough time to drop off our luggage and take a small break before heading out. I took advantage of the 24 hour coffee station located in the lobby before leaving. The coffee was amazing! It tasted l... Read more

We stayed only one night. It's a good thing because neither my husband or I could get any sleep. The mattress felt like it hadn't been changed in 20 years. VERY uncomfortable. Pillows had zero support and caused severe neck pain. We got ZERO sleep the night we stayed here.

Needed a couple of nights in the east valley, and chose this hotel based on TA reviews. It was great. Everything was clean and in good repair, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The manager's reception was a nice addition to the stay, and the breakfasts were just fine. The location is easy for visiting Old Town Scottsdale, or for getting around the area. It was plenty quiet as well. No complaints from this visitor.

Thought this was very good accommodation. Our suite was excellent, very spacious and clean. We made full use of the fridge and microwave, and enjoyed sitting out on the little balcony overlooking the pool. The pool looked inviting but we didn't have time to swim. We spent the day visiting the Cactus garden (well worth a visit) and the Mim music museum (excellent!) There was a very good food store a block away and the hotel's Happy hour was good too. The bed linen however gave me an allergic reac... Read more

I really enjoyed my brief stay here . Friendly staff, airport and local shuttle service. Walking distance to Old Town Scottsdale and Scottsdale Stadium. All suites so rooms are spacious and comfortable. Complimentary breakfast offers good variety and healthy options! A new Lolo's Chicken and Waffles is right next door so I was glad I had time to use the gym! Here for Fall Ball SABR conference and price was right!

Stayed here on the front and backend of a hiking trip. The staff was welcoming and always helpful. The courtesy shuttle within the area is a great option, however, the heart of Old Town Scottsdale is not much more than a half mile away straight north on foot. Breakfast options were plentiful and delicious. Would definitely stay here again.

It was also less than 10 minutes away from Fashion Square mall in Scottsdale. Old Town Scottsdale is just a few minutes away.
