This is a review of Dollar Rent a Car rather than the hotel. I decided to forgo the massive airport surcharges and rent my car out in Scottsdale. It worked out much cheaper, even with taxi fares (about $30 each way--if you don't stay at the hotel, you can't take advantage of the free hotel shuttle). It's a small operation, a one-woman show when I was in. (Therefore, I imagine it's essential to book in advance, as I did.) The woman at the desk was incredibly helpful and not interested in aggres... Read more

Plusses: *fitness center was awesome (clean, lots of equipment and room). *suite was roomy and useful as a base camp - fridge, microwave, coffee machine, a separate room from the bedroom with a couch and desk, a large comfy bed, lots of room to spread out, it was clean Minuses: *breakfast doesn't start until 7 on weekends; if you're doing something where you want to beat the heat, 7 am is too late *they had major construction going on, which I did not discover until I arrived. Yes I understand the remodeling but still had issues. Room itself was nice and clean and large. Make sure get to breakfast by 915-930 as staff starts cleaning up, taking your plates, vacuuming and removing food at 945 even when states end at 10. Conference rooms extremely too cold. Hoping the remodel helps the flow but probably will never go back to find out. Both pools ok Be aware tile around pool and stair handles are hot. Thankful had water outside both areas. Even though Chapparell suites was under construction, I still love the 2 hour drink reception and the breakfast that comes with the deal. I have been coming here for years, and the rooms were remodeled and they looked really nice. I didn't like the construction workers beating outside my window all day, and i did complain about it, and they did give me some money off of my bill for the inconvience. They did change the restaurant, did not like that at first. I loved the fourth floor grill, they h... Read more

We enjoyed our visit to Chaparral Suites. The king suite was large, clean, and updated. There was construction going on but it was mostly in the public areas that didn't affect our stay. The breakfast offerings was plenty although I have to say I do not enjoy powdered scrambled eggs. We were given room 329 which was right below the restaurant. The chairs moving across the floors could be heard by us and Saturday and Sunday evenings the noise was heard late into the evening. I would not accept a... Read more

Our room (407) was very big, I mean big. The bathroom was bigger than a Fairfield hotel room. The tub and shower were both excellent quality with great water pressure and flow. The linens were top quality as well as the pillows. Our granddaughter slept on a pullout couch in the living room and there was enough room left for a dance party. The main bedroom was a normal size with a balcony that you could stand outside on (if you can take the heat) but it overlooks the parking and neighboring ho... Read more

Stayed here in February with friends. Chose this location as the rooms had a double bed and sofa bed, so lots of room for sleeping if you are going with a large group. Was impressed with the style of the rooms, have a modern touch and the exterior of the rooms had a condo/townhome feel. Inside the rooms were decorated nicely and had a separate living room area from the bedroom (washrooms had no lock ? which can be kind of weird if your staying with friends). The rooms are very nice and clean. The staff is super friendly, especially Debbie in the bar/grille. The east pool is about 146 degrees, so be sure to use the west one. Breakfast was awesome, considering it's included. They could use one more bartender for the Happy Hour though. We'll be back.

Not too crazy about this place especially for the price. Restaurant was good but way over priced, go eat next door at Papi Chulo's Mexican Grill and Cantina, you will love that place. Stayed a Saturday night after a Dbacks game. The rooms are very nice, freshly remodeled, and very clean. The layout is similar to the Embassy Suites on 24th. While I do not like the outdoor concept, the hotel was nice. We stopped in at the Granada Grill, which was also fresh and comfortable. Papi Chulos in also just north of the property and within walking distance if you like Mexican food. We did a challenge with the room AC however, maintenance was up quick to make it right. Very nice place, very clean and well taken care of. The staff is very friendly and they great you with a pleasant smile and hello. The breakfast was very good, very clean and changing assortments daily, the omelet station was very friendly and accommodating. The pool areas are well taken care of and clean with fresh towels daily. While right on Scottsdale road and Chaparral road it was very quite and relaxing. This was our first stay at this hotel. We wanted to try it out since its recent re-branding to an Embassy Suites. The location is great - just north of Camelback and Scottsdale Roads, near the sprawling Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall, and many good restaurants. The public spaces and the rooms have all been newly renovated, so everything is fresh and new. We really liked our room, except for an issue with the room location... The hotel was very well kept and the staff were there to greet us upon arrival. When we needed more cups, they were quick to get some to our room. The room service was also quick. There was a complimentary happy hour (really two hours) with snacks. You could enjoy this inside the bar or out on the patio near the pool.

Hotel a bit above average, cocktail hours good, but snacks only so so, room comfortable and quiet, pool too cold, complementary breakfast well presented, selections boring--same old, same old. Price a bit for offering and 11 AM checkout, would have preferred 12 PM. Good location near Scottsdale Fashion Sq. and Old Town Scottsdale.

Stayed here for two nights during our anniversary trip to AZ. We love staying at Embassy's because of their amazing breakfast, complimentary happy hour and are always consistent in the areas of cleanliness and staff friendliness. This one was no different. Not sure if the style is indicative to how they build structures in AZ, but instead of being 10 or 12 stories like we are used to, this Embassy was 4 stories, but spread out across what seemed like 2 football fields in length. They had two p... Read more

This was our first time at this resort and my husband and I look forward to returning soon. The recent completion of the multi-million dollar renovations are evident in the upgraded suites, the grounds, the lobby, the on-site restaurant and the 2 pools. There was a lot to choose from at the complimentary breakfast each morning, including a made to order station (delicious omelettes!) and the daily evening reception offered a variety of drinks and snacks. I grew up in this area of Scottsdale. The hotel remodel is fantastic! The hotel is near great shopping, dining and old town Scottsdale. The free hotel shuttle is super convenient- they will drop you off and pick you up within a 5 mile radius of the hotel. Many attractions are walking distance. The breakfast was wonderful and had options for all of us. Rooms are extremely comfortable and the staff was very friendly. We checked in upon our arrival on Tues Oct 4 for a 3 night stay. We rented a car and made the relatively easy drive from the airport in Phoenix. Our room was a little disappointing, off to the side on the second floor, next to the Housekeeping storage area. The living room looked out to a brick wall and the bedroom window was too high to provide any kind of view, but we spent most of our time outside so it was no big deal. The room itself was fine, nothing special, but I have to say I loved t... Read more

This property has many areas that have been updated- including a very nice bathroom in the suite and a great fitness center. The pool areas were fairly well maintained. Unfortunately, other areas of the hotel are more run-down and multiple elevators were not working during our stay. If you are a coffee drinker, you are out of luck. The "bold" coffee in the breakfast area is really weak (and we had just left another Embassy Suites that served Starbucks in the breakfast area!) Tough not to compare... Read more

The room was beautiful and clean. The pool was nice but not too kid friendly. It is close to all the major shopping in Scottsdale. I did not like that all the rooms were accessed from the outside. It felt like a motel .. esp since they put us near the soda machines. They were "painting" the parking lots so we had to park by their convention areas several times. It was not easy with the kids. I stayed at the Embassy Suites for a project on which I was traveling. The company with which we were working recommended the establishment and it was a pleasure to stay there. Rooms are great, make sure you air your room out first. Walked in and smacked in the face with a very musky smell, which is odd for being in AZ desert. If they give you a room on the 3rd floor make sure it isn't 329 or anywhere near it. They have a Resturant on the 4th floor which doesn't close until 11pm, and until that time, all you will hear is foot steps, furniture moving and noises. So make sure you are a night owl.

I travel every week for my job. I have stayed at several embassy suites around the US over the years and this is by far the worst one. I took us 4 rooms to find one that was semi acceptable. As many reviewers have stated this is an older property that has been renovated. The rooms although nicely furnished are very dark. I looked at 4 different rooms and they were all dreary. There is very little natural light and views of the pool and courtyard are nonexistent. We checked out after 1 night and went to another Hotel. I would say that the rooms was well priced, and the staff at reception were most accommodating.

We loved our free upgrade to the Presidential Suite (absolutely massive) as the hotel was fully booked when we arrived. The shuttle service was also a great feature that we used a couple of times. As others have stated, the rooms are a little on the dark side with not much access to natural light. I would gladly stay here again.
