I stayed at this hotel for several weeks over the past few months while I was visiting Mayo Clinic Phoenix. It is very convenient for walking to either the clinic outpatient building or the hospital (10 minutes walk or shuttle driver will take you there). It is also very convenient for getting around Phoenix and Scottsdale as it is very close to the 101 ring road. Only 1 mile away is the Musical Instrument Museum (I walked there, but not recommended as there isn't a sidewalk for much of it!),whic... Read more

I recently stayed at the Residence Inn while receiving treatment at the Mayo Clinic. I had a 1 bedroom suite. The room was very clean and quiet. The staff was very helpful. Free shuttle to the Mayo Clinic and anywhere you want within 2 miles if the shuttle is available which it was. I used it quite a bit as I was unable to drive being on pain medicine. The outdoor area was wonderful. 2 fire pits with plenty of chairs around them as well as a pool. The pool isn't very large but there is p... Read more

This is a new, well-maintained facility right next to the Mayo Clinic. The rooms are spacious with good kitchen facilities. There is a shuttle to and from Mayo, less than 5 minutes. The staff are friendly and very helpful. They are tuned in to the needs of medical patients. Free full breakfast in a spacious eating area on the first floor.

Stayed here while attending a conference at the JW. They were very attentive and quick to solve problems. Our ice maker didn't work and they came immediately to install a new one. Later my key didn't work and they brought me a new one!

I am from Sedona AZ, and every few months we head down to Scottsdale to get some R and R. Yes even living in Sedona AZ, we need to get away some times. I loved this hotel, the people working here are really great, very nice, helpful and accommodating. The hotel suite was lovely, we had a 2 queen size studio and it was plenty large enough for two people. We had the room that faced out back, away from Mayo Boulevard. I found the rooms really quiet and we were right off the elevator, but never ... Read more

We stayed for 3 weeks for a medical issue. There were many families there that were clearly on vacation. The staff...from the front desk to the dining room folks (by the way...amazing food) to the housekeeping were all incredible. We have stayed many places and travelled a lot. This is far away one of the nicest places we have stayed.

The facility was very nice except for the carpeting. It amazes me that hotels affiliated with a hospital would have carpeting. The inn has replaced some of it but the remaining esp in public areas is in need of change. Our room was very clean and spacious. The staff are very friendly and kind. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Had occasion to attend Memorial Day ceremony at National Military Cemetery which begins promptly at 8 a.m. Residence Inn was a perfect location and insured that we were at the Cemetery in plenty of time for the beginning of ceremony and Flyover. Thousands of people in attendance and we made the right call to spend the preceding night. We were disappointed that the pool area did not offer a whirlpool spa however, Since this location is adjacent to the Mayo Clinic, we would think that a whirl... Read more

I was surprised this place had good reviews. Upon arriving you could see how aged and un-kept the hotel is. When we inspected the room found sheets were old and piling and the toilet was dirty, not scrubbed at all. Obvious housekeeping did minimal to clean the room from last guests. Immediately called desk for another room and within minutes were told to swap keys. Second room was better (4th floor vs. 3rd floor) so we elected to stay. Husband actually wanted to go somewhere else but I was so ti... Read more

This is the perfect hotel if you are going to Mayo Clinic. My suite was lovely. The kitchen certainly was adequate if you wanted to cook. Mon., Tues., Wed there is some sort of food with beer and wine in the lobby - what a nice touch. I traveled alone and felt safe the whole time I was there. They have a very accommodating van to take you within a two mile radius of the hotel. The van was very available at all times. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and did whatever they could t... Read more

Fabulous breakfast! The hotel location is perfect for Mayo Clinic Phoenix patients. The hotel has a shuttle to help get to and from the Mayo buildings, which is especially nice during hot days and walking across the parking lot would be just too much.

Easy and friendly checkin. Wonderful, clean and spacious rooms, refrigerator with freezer, microwave, cook top, dishes and utensils, etc. Located near shopping, restaurants, express ways to all major attractions. Most importantly, walking distance to the Mayo Clinic. A perfect location for Mayo patients, family and friends.

I stayed here for business travel. I used to live in Phoenix and now when I come back for work, I try different hotels just for the heck of it. This hotel was fine. As everyone states, it is more suited to people who are being treated at Mayo - there is nothing else around unless you go to the east and hit Scottsdale Rd, south to Bell where there is a Walmart or take the 101 east to Tatum and hit the shops/dining there. The room I stayed in had a full kitchen, separate sitting area and sleepin... Read more

I am wheelchair bound and when I arrived there was no mobility accessible room for me. The clerk said that the room is only requested and not guaranteed. Mayo clinic is very close and convenient but there was a couple of other guests in the lobby complaining that there is no handicapped room for them either. I guess this hotel promises everyone an ADA room even when they overbook just to sell their rooms.

Residence Inn has a special rate for Mayo Clinic patients and their families. The king Suites are wonderful and the rotating television and dresser combination are really cool. The water takes awhile to warm up when you are on the 5th floor. The refrigerator and microwave and electric stove top allow you to make your own meals if you wish. It is a full size refrigerator not one of those half pint sizes. We stocked up and made our own meals. The daily breakfast was the usual with the addition of ... Read more

This residence inn does not act in the normal Marriott fashion. The front desk check in was very abrupt and although always upgraded due to Platinum status, this location preferred to save the rooms "just in case". We were tired and did not want to leave the room so we ordered the in house dining. Limited selection and prices were high. To our surprise we received a phone call to pick up our order. When we did we discovered that the $15 store bought pizza was ice cold. We called the desk... Read more

Have to admit the bed was fantastic. Bedding, pillows, and mattress were so soft and comfortable but unfortunately that was the highlight of our stay. There are a lot of restaurants and things to do close by but most likely the majority of people staying here are because of the close proximity to the hospital. Noise was still an issue on Sunday morning but not from the construction, rather the side entrance door that was opened and shut several times an hour which cause a sound like someone w... Read more

I called the hotel 3 times in 1 day to alter my plans. My brother was in a critical situation at the nearby Mayo clinic. I spoke with Sally each time who handled the changes, assured me it was not an issue, and quickly put me at ease. I was there for three nights, along with other members of my family who had booked there also. The entire staff was friendly, and compassionate during an incredibly difficult time, as my brother eventually passed away there in hospice. I especially want to thank N... Read more

This is the second time we have stayed at this Residence Inn. The hotel room was clean and comfortable, except for the bed, it was lumpy and one of the towel provided has a hole in it. A/C was running, but the room felt damp.

After a thorough search, we decided to book at the Residence Inn as its location was unbeaten vs other hotels in the area. We needed to go back & forth to the Mayo clinic buildings before and after my surgery and its proximity and shuttle was very convenient. Using the van shuttle was even better than using our car as it was easier to get in and get off. My wife, daughter and I stayed in a great two bedroom suite, not a 5 star luxury room but very clean, modern and big enough to spend the 10 day... Read more

We stayed here for my bachelorette party. Our original hotel burnt down but I was super happy with this choice. With it being literally next to the Mayo Clinic I was worried but I was pleasantly surprise when I walked in. Christian at the front desk was terrific as well as Sally. The breakfast was delicious. I don't like that there are no ice machines, we turned ours on in our room and in 5 hours it made 6 ice cubes. I also found the layout confusing but it was clean and very nice.

Close to Desert Ridge and right next door to the Mayo Clinic, this hotel is perfect. Large lobby, big suites! Breakfast was fine, just a bit skimpy on fresh fruit. Good handicapped parking. Only minor issue is really slow elevators but with sick people and families staying here, I understand why.

The Residence Inn Phoenix Desert View was the perfect choice for lodging during my treatment at the Mayo Clinic. If you stay in New York, Paris, Florence or Kyoto in a hotel room with a full size refrigerator, stove top, dish washer, microwave and ample storage for clothes, the daily tab is memorably expensive By contrast my six week summer stay in Phoenix did not acquire enough Marriott Rewards points to pay for even one nights lodging. I strongly recommend this hotel. The staff is very friendly, caring, and accommodating. My husband had surgery in September so we decided to stay here because it was right next to the hospital. I won't bore you with the details but we had to stay 7 & 1/2 weeks. During that time we have gotten to know all of the staff.
