Upon arrival, this place was sinking fast. Have a great stay, ya tell 5 people....Have a horrible stay, ya tell 20 people. I was placed in an over worn, dirty room originally. I spoke to front desk, and was introduced to 'Vincent'. He was wonderful and helped make this stay a success. Once the remodel happens, we WILL be back.

This place is beautiful, with stunning views and tons of amenities and activities. The staff was extremely nice and helpful, especially the concierge staff who will drive you to and from your room any time. A couple of things to be aware of - this place is literally built into tall cliffs, so many of the rooms are uphill. Mine was at the very top and had amazing views. Like I mentioned, the concierge will drive you if you don't want to hike straight up a mountain (literally), but if mobility is ... Read more

The Hilton Tapatia Cliffs Resort is truly an amazing place to stay in Phoenix. The hotel in top-notch, the views are breathtaking, and the service is excellent. From the moment I was greeted at the front desk, to the service during breakfast, the fitness facility and pools, and the concierge I was treated like I was right at home. The accommodations are spacious and comfortable. Will be back here for sure in the very near future!

Staid four nights for a conference/convention in May. While the resort is quite large it has an intimate feel to it. Lots of pools and waterfalls throughout. Once we were used to climbing the cliffs and hills to and from our room, we thoroughly enjoyed the attentive service and quality of the provided food. Arranging for a car is a must to do anything off-site. Restaurant/bar options on property are limited. They have a huge renovation project coming up later this year which is well needed to up... Great accommodations, clean, welcoming, and comfortable. Very restful sleep with the black out curtains and early sunrises. The cabana was nice but there were a lot of children at the pool which was less ideal for this trip for us. Would recommend cabanas located at the adult only pool as well.

This seems more like a resort than a hotel. Everything is well-maintained, clean and comfortable. A lot of amenities which we didn't get to use because of only staying 1 night. An impressive pool area and good gym facilities in beautiful surroundings.

The staff and service are excellent. The food is good. They do "staycations" on the weekends to fill the hotel. Look for crowds and late night disturbances on the weekends. The grounds and outdoor areas need renovations. It looks a bit tired and run down in certain areas.

I've stayed at this place a number of times over the years, and have always been very satisfied. This latest stay (my first in over 5 years) was no exception. First, it's simply a lovely hotel. While it seems like it's been around forever (I probably first stayed here 25 years ago), everything is nicely maintained and it looks like it could've just opened last year. Our room (and most of the others, I think) was a one-bedroom suite with separate living room, bedroom, bathroom, and private outdo... Read more

I booked this resort for a Friday - Monday stay for my family. I thought the "The Falls Pool" would be an exciting place for my 7 and 10 yr old, based on the 138 ft waterslide. We arrived from California on Friday around 4:30. After getting checked in, settled in the room and ate dinner, we headed out to the pool. But the slide was closed. We were told it closed at "dusk", but it was 7pm and the sunny was shinning brightly. We had until 8 pm to stay at that pool before it closed. When it closed ... Read more

We had a wonderful time, the help was courteous the room was perfect, lots of nearby restaurants. We tried Greek town excellent spicy Gyros. There is an amazing enclosed slide that kept the kiddos busy. It was very well monitored so no accidents occur. It was very good. The Waterpark at Squaw peak is better if that is where you want to be. There is an on-site Starbucks too.

This is the second time we have stayed here. We come because of the location to our family. The hotel itself is rundown and needs serious maintenance. I upgraded this time, but there were still holes in the ceiling in the bathroom and the beds were saggy (but soft). The folks at the front desk were very nice. However, it sit up on an incline which is impossible to find elsewhere in this valley city. It is located near the physical center of Phoenix and gives you spectacular views. We had a great time! The hotel is really nice and the location is really interesting and different and beautiful. It's built in the cliffs. We looked at the renovated rooms and preferred the older ones. I found the new rooms sterile and prefer a little color in the room. We stayed in the main area and it was perfect. The other rooms are more remote and might be better if you're with a group of people that would all go to one of the little pools. We loved the adult pool.

Went for 2 nights with boys, 16 and 10. It was a mini stay vacation since we were busy during the day till around 2 so were able to experience the resort in the late afternoons. First of all, the rooms are very big, with a nice size living area and a large bedroom. Hilton Gives HHonors members the option of choosing their rooms, so if you want an updated room, choose a building at the top of the hill. If you choose a room closer to The Falls...be prepared for an older, dirtier room. I chose a room close to The Falls and the hiking trail entrance. It is great for families because the pools are kid friendly, but not recommended if you are trying to enjoy a weekend alone with a significant other. The staff is fantastic for the most part. The resort itself could use a complete makeover. The rooms themselves are comfortable but the exterior is in sad shape and the handrails when available are just nasty.. Getting around is difficult due to the congested roads and lack of sidewalks. Parking is challenging in most areas due to the narrow roads with cars parked on both sides. Nice place, but it had shortcomings inconsistent with its rating as a high-end resort in the Southwest. Their elegant 4-star restaurants featured a very limited choice of middle-of-the-road food and didn't include much of anything "signature Southwest" to reflect their location. This hotel was situated on a cliff that beautifully looks over Phoenix, however, for such an inexpensive room ($79 at the time), they charge $75 a night for incidentals so be prepared! The staff is for the most part good. Still, the Gift Shop is rarely manned and the operators were not horribly friendly The resort is under renovations so the rooms are nice and modern. I was somewhat disappointed that microwaves were not in the rooms, but what can ya do?

The first room they gave me was really unacceptable and I didn't speak up soon enough. I tolerated 2 nights in that room. It was far from the lobby, isolated, dark, and felt very unsafe to come and go to. The shower wasn't working properly. There was no hot water and the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. Finally I asked for a different room and was much happier with the 2nd room near the lobby. This hotel did not feel like a Hilton at all. It must have been an old hotel that was taken o... Read more

My family and I have gone to Pointe Tapatio for our end of summer "staycation" every year since 2010, but sadly this will be our 7th and last year. We tolerated various minor inconveniences, such as inadequate parking, poor wi-fi, tiny bathrooms with inconsistent hot water, tripping over the bed when walking through the door to the master suite, and early checkout, because we loved the convenience and the 7 pools (8 if you count the Adult Pool). I booked this hotel to help my kids and their cousins beat the heat. An unexpected monsoon bloew through, causing the resort to close several pools and half the waterpark. I was not offered any type of compensation (waiving the resort fees, maybe?), nor was I permitted to cancel my reservation without penalty. The room was outdated and sofa bed had a 2 inch foam mattress on a hard base, which felt exactly like sleeping on the floor.

Confusing and tired. Hard to get around...roads are very narrow and steep. Parking is challenging. Rooms were OK but tough to believe they were recently renovated. Golf course associated with resort was fair. Many better options around. Won't be staying there again...

Beautiful cliff-side view of hills at sunset and sunrise. Remodeled room was clean and up to date including wireless. Food was excellent for dinner and breakfast. Walk around the hillside was relaxing and invigorating. Choice of pools, traveling on a Monday night we had our pick.

Staff is great. Friendly and helpful. Beautiful grounds. Rooms newly renovated. Our room had problem with ac. Lots of noise coming from ducts. Engineering took care of right away. Also had problem with water running in adjoining unit. Both issues kept us up most of night. No compensation for the inconvenience. I Don't recommend the " a different point of view "restaurant. Food wasn't good. Service below average. Only the view was worth it. Try the Terrance view only apps and desserts. Looked lik... Read more

Located about half an hour from the airport. The resort offers many pools and restaurants Breakfast was excellent and we hung by the bar a few nights. Great place if you're looking to relax. Day trip to Sedona was only an hour and a half away and a must if you're in the area. You can Uber to Scottsdale for night fun

Great place to relax, unwind. Amazing views of the cliffs. Just far enough outside of downtown Phoenix, to avoid light pollution, and enjoy starry skies. Beautiful pools, hiking, and do not pass on the "Different Pointe of View"restaurant. You cannot get a better view, and the food was outstanding. If you are looking for some excercise, you can certainly achieve that with walks up to the cliff view suites. You can also choose to be super laid back, as the staff will pick you up and drop you off ... Read more

We stayed at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs resort for our first wedding anniversary. From our arrival to our departure we were very well looked after by the staff who couldn't do enough for us. We stayed in a 1 king bedroom suite with cliff view and we're not disappointed with the quality of the room and the view. The room was only 2 minutes from one of the many pools on site, the sunset pool was actually a sun trap all day long and made a lovely place to sit and read a book or take a dip t... Read more

I recently spent almost a whole week at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort. I was there for a funder conference, so my first point is that I was not paying for my accommodations and I can't comment on value for the money. The experience was a memorable one, that would make we consider going back on my own even if I was paying for it. The highlight is definitely the pools and outdoor areas. There are multiple pools and hot/warm tubs including an adult-only pool, which I really appreciate sin... Read more

I stayed in this hotel for three nights for a conference. It is very spread out and hilly so walking from hillside rooms to the conference area and back can be strenuous. The property does offer golf cart rides which I took advantage of on check in and check out. The buildings housing the various suites do not have elevators so pack light or ask for assistance. I did the latter. I did not visit the pools or restaurant but the room service cheeseburger was exceptional. If you do not have a car, y... Read more

The pool was relaxing. Our room was spacious and clean! Pricey, but, worth it. There is a Starbucks in the lobby of the hotel, and, the concierge offered great advice on local activities, and even recommended a round of golf at the nearby course.

The hotel staff was great and very helpful. The pool area and hot tub area were not kept up very well. There was a massive amount of ants that would crawl over anything that was touching the tile around the pool. You also could not lean against the edge because they would swarm your body. The pool was not cleanup up very well, leaves and bugs floating all over the top. The restaurant staff was great, food and drinks are a bit pricey for what you get.

Whenever I go to Phoenix (often, to visit family), I stay here. It is beautiful, clean, and the service is friendly and courteous. They truly are accommodating. This was, however, the first time I came here at this time of the year and it was off-peak and rather quiet (not a bad thing, for sure). However, my reason for the 4 stars was involving the cost. While you can still use the services, i.e. fitness room, pools, etc., I felt that the daily fee you are imposed is high...whether you use th... Read more

This was my first time staying at a resort and I'm so glad this was my first resort experience! Everything was excellent. The man who checked us in was super friendly, as were all the concierges, bellmen, and breakfast staff. Our server for dinner one night, Gilberto I believe, was very nice and even comp'd our dessert for us! Not sure why, as nothing was wrong with our food or our experience - I guess he was just being friendly which was much appreciated. Dinner was good, but breakfast was phen... Read more

We absolutely loved our visit to this resort 25 years ago. But we loved it even more on this last visit. The rooms are great and the views are wonderful. Dinner at the top of the property could not have been more delicious or in a more beautiful "sunset" setting. But, this would all be nothing without an exceptional staff. Everyone worked to make our stay great. Can't wait to go back.

I have stayed here before and was very pleased with this resort. We had a beautiful room that sat on the side of a cliff with wonderful views. But on this trip we were given a room on the bottom floor near the adult pool that was nothing but a hassle. There was no cell service for either my husband or myself. We were in town on a family emergency and needed to stay in touch with family members and it was near impossible. When I used the hotel phone I was charged $1.00 per call. That could really... The resort is laid out longitudinally, around the convention and meeting rooms. The main restaurant is on one end of the complex, which is fairly inconvenient for those staying in rooms at the other end. There are smaller pools throughout the complex, and the main pool area on one end, near the main restaurant. I enjoyed the quick access to hiking trails, right off of the resort property, again at one end of the complex. Walking to the luxury restaurant on the property is very challenging, as... Read more

Wife and I stayed here for 5 nights so we decided to go for a signature suite. Arrived a couple of hours early and as the room was available they kindly allowed us to check in a couple of hours early which was appreciated. It had a wet bar, 1.5 bathrooms, a fireplace, a small dining table, very large TVs and lots of space. Not that we would have used it, but having some sort of instruction for novices on using the fireplace would have been good, as the Biltmore does, I couldn't find anything her... Read more

My wife and I stayed two nights at this property in October. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly across the board. Front desk, restaurant, golf course, pool side, to the shuttle driver. I don't know if we will ever get back to Phoenix but I can assure you that if we do, we will try to stay here.

It's not a great property to walk around in high heels. It's VERY Hilly! We ate & had cocktails at " A Point In Time" we had Ahi tostada's & the chef's board. The food was high quality and thoughtfully.. professionally put together. We will go back again & again.

Conference facilities were excellent with great service, food, snacks, etc. I snuck away once to use the workout facilities and the pay are nice. Wonderful and pretty property and good for families because of the large main pool area with water slide, water falls, etc. Golf course is attached to property and has 2 restaurants on property. Lovely, architecturally-pleasing,well-maintained property. Suites are spacious and, in addition to "The Falls" water area, selection of pools and spas in various locations. Plenty of chaises in all water areas, and towels are plentiful in each location. The location is in a convenient area, near major roads and highways, and surrounded by hiking trails and lots of shopping and restaurants.
