Upon arrival, this place was sinking fast. Have a great stay, ya tell 5 people....Have a horrible stay, ya tell 20 people. I was placed in an over worn, dirty room originally. I spoke to front desk, and was introduced to 'Vincent'. He was wonderful and helped make this stay a success. Once the remodel happens, we WILL be back.

This place is beautiful, with stunning views and tons of amenities and activities. The staff was extremely nice and helpful, especially the concierge staff who will drive you to and from your room any time. A couple of things to be aware of - this place is literally built into tall cliffs, so many of the rooms are uphill. Mine was at the very top and had amazing views. Like I mentioned, the concierge will drive you if you don't want to hike straight up a mountain (literally), but if mobility is ... Read more

The Hilton Tapatia Cliffs Resort is truly an amazing place to stay in Phoenix. The hotel in top-notch, the views are breathtaking, and the service is excellent. From the moment I was greeted at the front desk, to the service during breakfast, the fitness facility and pools, and the concierge I was treated like I was right at home. The accommodations are spacious and comfortable. Will be back here for sure in the very near future!

Staid four nights for a conference/convention in May. While the resort is quite large it has an intimate feel to it. Lots of pools and waterfalls throughout. Once we were used to climbing the cliffs and hills to and from our room, we thoroughly enjoyed the attentive service and quality of the provided food. Arranging for a car is a must to do anything off-site. Restaurant/bar options on property are limited. They have a huge renovation project coming up later this year which is well needed to up... Great accommodations, clean, welcoming, and comfortable. Very restful sleep with the black out curtains and early sunrises. The cabana was nice but there were a lot of children at the pool which was less ideal for this trip for us. Would recommend cabanas located at the adult only pool as well.

This seems more like a resort than a hotel. Everything is well-maintained, clean and comfortable. A lot of amenities which we didn't get to use because of only staying 1 night. An impressive pool area and good gym facilities in beautiful surroundings.

The staff and service are excellent. The food is good. They do "staycations" on the weekends to fill the hotel. Look for crowds and late night disturbances on the weekends. The grounds and outdoor areas need renovations. It looks a bit tired and run down in certain areas.

I've stayed at this place a number of times over the years, and have always been very satisfied. This latest stay (my first in over 5 years) was no exception. First, it's simply a lovely hotel. While it seems like it's been around forever (I probably first stayed here 25 years ago), everything is nicely maintained and it looks like it could've just opened last year. Our room (and most of the others, I think) was a one-bedroom suite with separate living room, bedroom, bathroom, and private outdo... Read more

I booked this resort for a Friday - Monday stay for my family. I thought the "The Falls Pool" would be an exciting place for my 7 and 10 yr old, based on the 138 ft waterslide. We arrived from California on Friday around 4:30. After getting checked in, settled in the room and ate dinner, we headed out to the pool. But the slide was closed. We were told it closed at "dusk", but it was 7pm and the sunny was shinning brightly. We had until 8 pm to stay at that pool before it closed. When it closed ... Read more

We had a wonderful time, the help was courteous the room was perfect, lots of nearby restaurants. We tried Greek town excellent spicy Gyros. There is an amazing enclosed slide that kept the kiddos busy. It was very well monitored so no accidents occur. It was very good. The Waterpark at Squaw peak is better if that is where you want to be. There is an on-site Starbucks too.

This is the second time we have stayed here. We come because of the location to our family. The hotel itself is rundown and needs serious maintenance. I upgraded this time, but there were still holes in the ceiling in the bathroom and the beds were saggy (but soft). The folks at the front desk were very nice. It was packed during Father's Day weekend, especially at the pool. We found.a sliver of shade at the pool on a day that was 115 degrees. People were drinking beer in the pool and knoc... Read more

However, it sit up on an incline which is impossible to find elsewhere in this valley city. It is located near the physical center of Phoenix and gives you spectacular views. We had a great time! The hotel is really nice and the location is really interesting and different and beautiful. It's built in the cliffs. We looked at the renovated rooms and preferred the older ones. I found the new rooms sterile and prefer a little color in the room. We stayed in the main area and it was perfect. The other rooms are more remote and might be better if you're with a group of people that would all go to one of the little pools. We loved the adult pool.

Went for 2 nights with boys, 16 and 10. It was a mini stay vacation since we were busy during the day till around 2 so were able to experience the resort in the late afternoons. First of all, the rooms are very big, with a nice size living area and a large bedroom. The strange thing is that we had the boys in one room with parents in the other, and the boys had a fully stocked (and unlocked) mini bar, while the parents did not. Very odd and random. Hilton Gives HHonors members the option of choosing their rooms, so if you want an updated room, choose a building at the top of the hill. If you choose a room closer to The Falls...be prepared for an older, dirtier room. I chose a room close to The Falls and the hiking trail entrance. The paint on the walls was peeling, but the room seemed clean, so no big deal to someone who wasn't planning to spend much time there anyway. It is great for families because the pools are kid friendly, but not recommended if you are trying to enjoy a weekend alone with a significant other. The staff is fantastic for the most part. The resort itself could use a complete makeover. The rooms themselves are comfortable but the exterior is in sad shape and the handrails when available are just nasty.. Getting around is difficult due to the congested roads and lack of sidewalks. Parking is challenging in most areas due to the narrow roads with cars parked on both sides. Nice place, but it had shortcomings inconsistent with its rating as a high-end resort in the Southwest. Their elegant 4-star restaurants featured a very limited choice of middle-of-the-road food and didn't include much of anything "signature Southwest" to reflect their location. The room was much improved since our last stay 7 years ago. I was very impressed with the cleanliness, comfy beds (even the sofa bed), new looking furniture, and the wonderful view! And so quiet! If you have trouble with the hike to and from your assigned room, ask for something in the main building. one of the hiking trails goes right past the property and is easy to access. You can feel a million miles away from town in just a few minutes. We come here abo... Read more

This hotel was situated on a cliff that beautifully looks over Phoenix, however, for such an inexpensive room ($79 at the time), they charge $75 a night for incidentals so be prepared! The staff is for the most part good. Still, the Gift Shop is rarely manned and the operators were not horribly friendly The resort is under renovations so the rooms are nice and modern. I was somewhat disappointed that microwaves were not in the rooms, but what can ya do?

The first room they gave me was really unacceptable and I didn't speak up soon enough. I tolerated 2 nights in that room. It was far from the lobby, isolated, dark, and felt very unsafe to come and go to. The shower wasn't working properly. There was no hot water and the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. Finally I asked for a different room and was much happier with the 2nd room near the lobby. This hotel did not feel like a Hilton at all. It must have been an old hotel that was taken o... Read more

Very nice resort, staff is amazing. Although the ac was not working well in our suite I still give this place 5 stars. Your staff was very quick to try to resolve the issue. But it was late in the evening. I understand there was only so much the could do at that time.

This is my second time staying in a Phoenix resort and now am asking myself why go anywhere else. This was a last minute getaway. It was late and ran into a time consuming problem with hotels.com. but thanks to the front desk staff everything turned out for the better (thanks) . The property is huge and there are pools everywhere. The main pool is were i had spent most of my time. Many families and a few water features and activities. There is a bar and good selection of food that is priced ... Read more

This was a series of disasters... I would recommend booking the other Hilton with the lazy river instead. Upon checkin we were talked into upgrading to their River Falls View room. I couldn't see the falls at all. I did see the pool though. The room was old and musty. My 2 year old found a carpet staple on the floor and my husband (thank god it was him) found a huge Roach. The air conditioning from the room under us was malfunctioning, creating unusual coldness under our bathroom floor the fir... Read more

We stayed over Christmas and it was a great couple of days. You could have shot a cannon off and not hit anyone but that's just how we like it. Hot Tubs were very enjoyable. Rooms were clean. Nothing amazing but good considering the price.

This resort is in the midst of a remodel but the rooms that are done are very nice. The rooms have an Embassy Suites style feel to them with separate living and sleeping spaces. The fitness center was better equipped than most hotel fitness centers with multiple treadmills, bikes, and ellipticals, a free weight rack up to 50 lbs, and another exercise station. Two small (and I mean small) nits; number one in the split bathroom there are two light switches, one for the shower and one for the s... Read more

Overall me and my family had a pleasant stay. There were a few hiccups in getting our 2 adjoining rooms, but once that was settled we had a great time. There were a lot of people there and some very loud and boisterous. There was definitely a party feel and atmosphere to the resort. I don't think I would recommend this hotel for a quiet, romantic getaway. But, If you are with a group or celebrating something or with a large party, with all the pools and water slide, this is a great place to h... Read more

I always like staying here, conference room next door, no long walks and views from the rooms are lovely. Beds are confortable sheets with high thread count. The restaurant at the top of the mountain has beautiful views of the city and the food is excellent.

Well the hotel in on a beautiful mountain side which I guess that and the remodel brought in the bugs and insects. Killed a spider, saw roaches but worst was the scorpion. Took maintenance about 30 mins to come kill it. The waterfall that the flash flood made was great addition, except getting car out of the mud. The pools are nice.

My family and I have gone to Pointe Tapatio for our end of summer "staycation" every year since 2010, but sadly this will be our 7th and last year. We tolerated various minor inconveniences, such as inadequate parking, poor wi-fi, tiny bathrooms with inconsistent hot water, tripping over the bed when walking through the door to the master suite, and early checkout, because we loved the convenience and the 7 pools (8 if you count the Adult Pool). Unfortunately this year was more than we can toler... Read more

We stayed here at the end of September last year on a weekday jaunt. We were delighted to find our huge suite with a vaulted ceiling and luxury decor also included access to a private pool shared by only 4-5 other units. We were far from the main public areas and felt like we were in a villa. Simply superb.

I booked this hotel to help my kids and their cousins beat the heat. An unexpected monsoon bloew through, causing the resort to close several pools and half the waterpark. I was not offered any type of compensation (waiving the resort fees, maybe?), nor was I permitted to cancel my reservation without penalty. The room was outdated and sofa bed had a 2 inch foam mattress on a hard base, which felt exactly like sleeping on the floor.

This was a nice hotel. The kids enjoyed the water falls at the pool and the service was excellent. Staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed in a great suite facing the pool and enjoyed the promiximity. Will stay here again especially since they are renovating their suites. Can't speak for non Hilton Honor members but we sure enjoy our time at Hilton hotels.

We do alot of stay-cations because my hub is an employee of Hilton. With his position he likes to get a feel for the different Hilton's in the area and around the states. It's also a great getaway from monotony for the entire family. We're visiting this hotel as we speak, here in Phoenix. Interesting layout of the hotel. It's built on a slope with the valley mountains as the backdrop. (Sidenote: AZ has had some major rains these past couple weeks so you could tell where the leftover runoff deb... Read more

I have stayed at the property twice and I will return again! Amazing setting, very quiet , and a good value. Pools are over the top! The grounds are amazing and very well cared for. One slight negative, parking is a little limited - the rest of the place makes up for the parking woes. The location is very central in North Phoenix, there are many places within a 15 minute drive.

The fact that I was put next to a strip of units being renovated made me feel dirty at all times. My view was a wall of a side of a building when the rest of my co workers were placed at a mountain view.

My family stayed here for one night after touring the Grand Canyon and we were due to fly out the next day. I had been here many years before and had enjoyed it. This property is distinctive in the way it is laid out on the hillside and there are many different building and a series of roads that lead you around the resort and up the hill. The rooms are all suites with a bed or beds in one room with a balcony and a separate sitting room. I found the room to be very nice and quite comfortable... Read more

The pictures you see on the internet are really deceiving. We stayed there knowing it was under construction. The hotel lobby and suites did not fit the outside d├ęcor of the hotel. We picked this hotel because we wanted a hotel with southwestern/Spanish style d├ęcor and from the outside it had those characteristics but we were sadly disappointed. For this to be a Hilton, the outside was rundown (plaster missing in a lot of areas, stucco faded, and wallpaper peeling in suites to name a few). I d... Read more
