We were downtown for a country concert at Chase Field that is only 3 blocks away and our stay was beyond perfect. We were at the top floor thinking that it might be noisy because of all the people that were there for the concert. However; it was not true. This hotel is so gorgeous, spotlessly clean and the staff is very, very gracious. The number of excellent restaurants around the hotel is amazing and their restaurant was wonderful too. We recently overnighted at The Phoenix Kimpton Palomar enroute home after 10 days of travel and hiking through Scottsdale and Sedona . The place was so convenient and pleasant we wished we had set aside more time in Phoenix . The breakfast promo was excellent , the rooftop poolside bar was great to relax for a couple of hours before taking in a D back baseball game . The location was perfect for sport venues and a lot of the city could be explored on foot . The rooms were very clean, moderate a... Read more

When I drove up to the hotel the valet/bellhops where very nice and accommodating. The excellent customer service never ended. The front desk, pool staff, and workers at the Blue Hound Kitchen were all helpful. The location is great for sporting events or concerts. Also a short walk to everything downtown Phoenix has to offer. Lastly I had a City view room on the 9th Floor and the room was very clean. A great option for Phoenix.

Palomar from the get go was a great property. Valet team greeted me as I walked up cheerful as ever. Greeted by Grace, Danielle, and Ashley at the front desk. Incredibly helpful team. It was my first time to Phoenix and I definitely needed some help. I flew in from Seattle with get this- no sunscreen or sunglasses! Guess I forgot I'd need those things. They had sunscreen at the front desk for people like myself and the location was also conveniently located near a CVS + Urban Outfitters (I wante... Read more

Went here for a birthday & family had 2 connecting rooms. They were very clean & beautifully decorated. The views were beautiful! We ordered room service at midnight & everything was delish & arrived within 30 min & it was a large order! The mini bar had all top shelf & with the exception of the red bull everything was adequately priced. It truly is a boutique location! right in the heart of Phoenix!

We stayed for one night to celebrate our anniversary, we live in the Phoenix area. The staff was all very nice and friendly! The room was clean and modern. Since it was our anniversary they surprised us with strawberries and champagne room service! I thought that was an awesome extra. We signed up for the Kimpton rewards before we went and they asked us for our preferences on what floor we like, pillows and more. I never stayed at a hotel before where they do that. This was a wonderful experience. The entire hotel is gorgeous! Lovely funky, eclectic feel. The customer service is exceptional from the bar tenders at The Blue Hound to the valet attendants! Shout out to Ashley, front office supervisor who helped me book an extra night stay :) I would and will come back whether for business or pleasure. Thanks guys for a little vacay stay even though I was working.

The nice thing about a good Kimpton is the way they take care of you. Too late for the wine hour--here's a voucher for a glass of wine at the bar. Need advice on a place to see some desert before an 11 am flight--they'll make feasible suggestions. No need to wander out to the gym (they have an agreement with a place across the courtyard and it was fine) because there's a yoga mat in the closet. Great view from my room, comfortable beds, trendy but classic decor. Easy walk to the convention... Read more

The staff could not have been more courteous. We had two different attendants help us with check-in and check-out & both threw in some extra perks, like free parking & waving the cost of our mini-bar fee. The valets were like concierges, directing us to great places to eat & visit around the hotel. However, most importantly the room was CLEEEEAN!!! Not a stain nor grime nor smudge in sight. This chain will definitely be one of my go to hotels for future travel.

If I were rating just on the friendliness of the service and the comfort of the rooms, this would be a solid 5-star review. Everyone from the valet, to the concierge, to the front desk, and even to the in-room dining service, was fabulous. They certainly want to make their guests feel welcomed in every possible way. As my housemate and I were traveling with our Very Large Dog on a trip that was mostly for business, they get extra points for being a dog-friendly hotel. So, why not 5-stars? Ther... Read more

The bell staff here are terrific. Really helpful & friendly. We had a nice room, which was very comfortable (although the air conditioning really struggled to keep the room cool the entire stay). We liked the pool deck and bar, but it was too hot to sit outside. The bathroom was nicely fitted out and the room was very large and modern; beds were very comfortable. I love kimpton hotels and this one did not disappoint. Location is excellent in downtown Phoenix but you don't get caught up in city traffic driving to it. Room was modern and close to elevator as requested. Valet parking was fast and car ready almost immediately. Helpful staff. Very good room service. Timeliness and quality excellent for breakfast and late night.

Lots of hotels say they're dog friendly, but in reality have very little experience dealing with dogs. Hotel Palomar Phoenix was truly dog friendly. My partner and I were moving across the country with our dog and stopping in Phoenix for a night. Every single person their treated us and our dog so well. The room was great, the restaurant was great and the pool deck was particularly nice.

If you read my reviews, you know I am picky, particularly about cleanliness, noise, and customer service. I had never stayed at a Kimpton hotel and picked this based on the reviews. I am now looking for Kimpton properties everywhere I travel. This hotel is a slightly further walk from the convention center than some other properties, but I am so glad I stayed here! I really wanted to like this hotel but honestly after two stays it's not worth all the hype or the price! My last stay was in June, I think the room was about $160, we were told at the front desk that we had a fantastic view from our room and that the social hour included free beer, wine and flat bread pizzas. First of all, it's really hard to beat the level of customer service from a Kimpton Hotel. The Palomar is no different. When they asked and I told them it was my first stay there, my wife and I were upgraded to a top-floor (and possibly larger?) room and given free WiFi for the duration of our stay without hesitation. I stayed 2 nights, meeting my girlfriend two days into her business stay. The hotel is like new and well maintained. I was met at the front door by the bell captain and was escorted to the front desk. Guests are served free beer or wine at the evening receptions along with a light appetizer. There is ample soundproofing so noise was not an issue, some that not all hotels provide... I would expect that upper floors would be better, however the 4th floor worked for us.

This hotel is really great. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are tasteful, and the staff is considerate and friendly. What more can anyone really ask for? My only suggestions would be to leave coffee out later in the day (and perhaps include a coffee maker in the rooms), have a shop or vending machine for late at night (given nothing around the hotel is open at night), and consider providing complimentary bottles of water given the heat. But those are minor things.

Wifi is sort of expensive, and it lacks good storage for a stay of four days (no drawers, for example). The bed has seen some action and was a bit saggy, but still comfortable. Other than that, it's great. Restaurant(s) in building, close to everything, feels newer, staff is beyond friendly, bikes free to borrow, all the thrill that is a Kimpton. Pool area is very nice. The only two minor issues we had were that we had to cross the street to find a place to walk the dog (not a deal breaker and was actually a very nice ... Read more

In Phoenix on business I added four days at the end of the trip to sight see, relax, etc. Palomar is located in CityScape which includes restaurants, stores, etc. right outside the hotel. Located right across the street from the Talking Stick Arena (sports and shows) and Chase Field. The hotel amenities include a great roof top pool and bar/restaurant (Lustre), a great restaurant (Blue Hound) and even free bikes to use. The rooms are large, comfortable, very clean, upscale with a fun vibe. Love... Read more

An excellent downtown hotel with spacious rooms and helpful staff. Every staff member we encountered at the Palomar was friendly and attentive. Room service here is top notch! The large deep bathtub in our room was a real plus. This is a great location if you are taking in a baseball game at Chase Field. The hotel is just across the street and about a block from the ball park.

We stayed for one night on our drive to Sedona. The Hotel is modern and clean. We had a good sleep with no noise issues however our parents could hear quite a bit of noise from their room. Front desk were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the restaurant / Bar staff were not as accomodating as the rest of the hotel staff. The restaurant was busy and the food of a high standard.

I recently stayed at the Palomar from July 18th - July 22nd. We travelled to Phoenix to watch a couple of Blue Jays games. We chose the Palomar because of the proximity to Chase field and all the good reviews that it had. We were not disappointed. It was a very short walk to Chase field and there was lots of great eating establishments close by. The Hotel itself was everything we hoped for. We arrived a couple hours ahead of check-in time but our rooms were ready for us. Check-in was a breeze an... Read more

Usually my reviews are pretty detailed but this review won't be because I only spent a few hours at the hotel. Because I needed to catch a flight in Phoenix, I decided to leave my hiking trip in Sedona a day earlier and stayed a night at Palomar in Phoenix because it was in close proximity to the airport. The hotel was GREAT. The staff were very professional, polite, and accommodating (even when I annoyed them at 12:00 am about bars and restaurants). The hotel is very modern and everything you n... Good location if attending events @ Talking Stick or Comerica, both are an easy, quick walk away. Several restaurants within walking distance. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Pool area during our 2 stays in July was a disappointment ... all day pool parties held each time we stayed are geared toward college crowd - not family friendly nor more mature guest friendly. Parking garage $20 through hotel pay.

Good location. Beds were comfortable and pillows were good (not great but good). Very good bar scene. Pool was nice with good service. Unfortunately when we were there, some guests did not behave appropriate in front of our kids. We had to leave the pool area. Wish the staff would have addressed it knowing there were kids there. Gym access was very convenient.

Stayed here for a date night, perfect location for events, restaurants, and Drinks. Valet makes for easy parking and they have a good loyalty program. Rooms are modern, had interesting option available in the mini bar, have to see it!! Has a rooftop bar though didn't visit, opted for Bitters and Twisted across the street.

Both lobbies were beautiful. The 2nd floor one, which I believe they call the living room always had coffee or fruit infused water available. We went to the comedy show across the street, nice walks around downtown in the morning, had breakfast downstairs, parking costs a lot and we barely used the car. If you are traveling to Phoenix, I would Uber from the airport to the hotel and just walk everywhere. CVS was also a block away so we could pick up small items we forgot and snacks for the room. ... It took me three times around the block before I found this hotel. My GPS had it on the opposite side of the street. Parking is either on the street or valet. Rooms weren't prepared in advance, so they had to come remove the feather bedding - which was done promptly. Coffee makers are not standard in the room, but was offered. There was an issue with the guy ahead of me, but the manager arrived and took him aside to resolve the issue. Overall, a very pretty room with plenty of room. The ... Read more

This location is amazing. Central to everything in downtown Phoenix, AZ (all within walking distance). First and foremost, this is perhaps our best Kimpton stay -- we are Kimpton lovers. The staff and hotel aesthetics are outstanding. We stayed in May 2016 and plan to return. The hospitality is beyond Kimpton Karma expectations and quality. Ashley Garvey, the front desk receptionist was attentive to our stay from the day of booking to the day of departure. We honestly cannot say enough about As... Read more

Staycation for us and this was our 4th or 5th stay at the Palomar. Kimpton always a great job and this hotel proves it. Great Happy Hour from 5 to 6 pm everyday (Free) and a lot of appetizers put out in comparison to other Kimptons. Comfortable bed, clean room, nice Bath products and walk in shower. Quiet except for the Rave nightclub that plays music loudly until 4 am. Ear plugs might help. Fantastic roof top pool w/city views and great bartenders. Our room is lush, massive room, nice and clean. bar/reception/lounge area - lovely. car park is a nightmare to find and get into the hotel . would recommend valet parking - if you can find it. Negatives are : reception- weren't forthcoming with information. we checked in for 4 nights. went to the room .tried to log onto the wifi. and it said put your room in and pay each night. so we left it. went to reception on way out. and a lady said - oh you didn't get the wifi code when you checked in?... so we were here passing through to Vegas. i made this reservation last minute and did not know what to expect. We arrived late. so we checked in and slowly made our way upstairs. The room was very neat. the colors and mixes were great. the beds were soft and the bathroom was large. all big pluses. However, at this point, the only thing we cared about was food. so we tested the food and to our surprise, it was really good. we asked for a few different things--mix and match. between fo... I had had lunch at the restaurant, but finally got to try out the Kimpton Hotel Palomar Phoenix last week. It is symbolic of the renaissance of downtown Phoenix. What used to be a dilapidated park has been converted into a state-of-the-art hotel. If you want to play golf on a hotel course or go RV'ing nearby, this is not the place for you. This is an urban venue tailored to please businesspeople and VIPs, who may have flown in just to see their favorite act perform in the Talking Stick Arena acr... Read more

I really enjoyed my stay at the Palomar. Everyone was really friendly and was happy to answer my questions. The hotel is centrally located, especially since it is next door to Charming Charlie. I enjoyed the restaurant and bar, as well as the complimentary wine hour. My room was very comfortable and all my needs were met. I highly recommend this hotel.

What a gem ! Nestled in the heart of downtown Phoenix this hotel is a real boutique property. The roof deck pool / lounge is a happening spot. The hotel is very nice. The service was very friendly, the rooms large and very comfortable. It has the Kimpton touches - wine hour in the evening, etc. The pool is small but pretty nice (and loud!) with very good (and not overpriced) poolside food and drink service. The location is downtown Phoenix across from the big arena was totally dead when I was there. The hotel would be in a good location if there were something going on across the street. Things were beyond dead as it was, and it ... Read more

This was my second visit to Phoenix and the Palomar. It did not disappoint! The front desk staff and valet are the best of the best. They were knowledgable and accommodating to our every request. Accommodations were clean, and staff was always attentive. There's no other place in Phoenix I'd rather stay. Hope to be back again!!!
