Distance to the ballpark was perfect for walking and the room was clean and comfortable. However, upon check out I had been over charged $30. I had booked a room in advance. The lady at the front desk said there was nothing she could do. Claimed my card didn't go through, which is untrue. I had just gotten a brand new card and made sure to update the information as we are rewards members. She said they tried to call but that was also a lie, we received no call and no voicemail. Everything else w... Read more

Hotel is good (there doesn't seem to be a good category only average or very good!) but quite expensive for an Express. However the bed was very comfy, the room was clean and quiet, the pool was a really nice temperature and the breakfast was good enough. It is quite a walk in the heat into downtown or to the light rail but overall I'd definitely give it a Good if I could!!

Location is excellent for the price -- easy walk to convention center (5-6 blocks, 15 min.), Arizona Center restaurants, and downtown sports venues (baseball & basketball). Solid 20 min. walk to light rail, near sports venues. All standard HIE fare, including free hot breakfast (only lacking in variety of fresh fruit), pool (outdoor, full of families so didn't try it), and very hospitable staff. Wifi was surprisingly zippy and consistent, too. Area is nestled in amongst university buildings and ... Read more

Stayed here while attending a conference at the Phoenix conference centre nearby (easy 5 min walk). I guess overall it was a convenient, affordable choice, but the rooms were cramped, breakfast was nothing special and although the area felt safe there was really nothing other than a small mall nearby (movie theatre, Starbucks, one clothing store, a few good restaurants). I was there with my hubby and our 8 year old son. The room felt dark and crowded. I was expecting a suite setup with large be... Read more

Needed 2 rooms at the last minute to attend a Diamondbacks/NY Yankee baseball game within walking distance to Chase Field. We (generally prefer to avoid large chain hotels, but it was pretty much all that was available. It turned out to be a great experience, The staff was very accomodation and the hotel very comfortable, quiet and clean. They had a great breakfast as well. Also, walking toward this hote from Chase Fieldl, one is able to quickly escape the masses of people exiting in anothe... Read more

The hotel was a good example of a Holiday Inn Express and we enjoyed our stay their. The suites were well equipped and spacious and the bathroom was clean and the water pressure good. All the staff were friendly and polite and the woman in charge of breakfast was very attentive and efficient. The hotel is well located short walk from the centre of Phoenix and hence finding dining alternative was easy. Would stay there again.

We stayed here three nights while attending a three game series at Chase Field. Even with record breaking Phoenix heat during June, the walk to Chase Field was nothing. The air conditioners in the room are LOUD. The breakfast is OK - nothing special. The staff is pleasant and responsive.

Stopped overnight to see a Diamondback versus Giants baseball game and this hotel is a short distance from park and they have a large free parking lot. Clean room. Good customer service. A pretty good walk to the park, about 15-20 minutes. Pretty hot. Maybe a cab would be a good idea. Still if your going to game it's close and convenient. Close to a convention center to.

We stayed one night to go to a baseball game while passing through Phoenix. The room was big and very nice. Bed was very comfortable. Then you get free breakfast and it was very good. Nice stay, good value and walking distance to the ballpark too!

Stayed here one night to see Dbacks at Chase Field. Real nice hotel. Clean room, comfy bed. Got upgraded to a suite which was really nice. Short walk to Chase Field but bring water if walking. Super safe walk back at night. Not a lot of restaurants around the hotel but they are still pretty close. Would definitely stay here again.

Basic place with solid if predictable breakfast, but at a fraction of the big downtown chains- free parking [that adds up in this location], easy walk to the ballpark, U Az downtown campus, and cross some construction to Roosevelt area trendy coffee shops.

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. Awesome staff. Very helpful. Location is great if you're staying downtown. Very close to ASU's downtown campus, Chase Field, Walking Stick Arena & lots of restaurants. Breakfast was very good for a hotel buffet. Pool area was very nice.

Plus points: Hotel was clean and in a great location for walking into downtown Phoenix. Rooms were decent size and they had a free breakfast style buffet complete with polystyrene plates and plenty of coffee. Negatives No restaurant or bar Noisy basketball court at the back of the hotel where my room was with bright floodlights. All in all a solid 3/5, would stay there again as was a cheaper option but would want a room away from the basketball court.

The hotel is conveniently located less than a mile from the Phoenix Convention center. For that reason, the hotel shuttle wouldn't take us back and forth so we had to cab it or uber it. If you weren't on your feet all day at a trade show we could have walked but given the circumstances, it was best we took transportation. Word of advice, if you are taking an uber, don't pin your location; they'll never find you. Type in the hotels information. The staff was courteous and accommodating. However... Read more

This hotel's best asset is it's staff. The staff is wonderful. I was only able to interact with the front desk and the breakfast lady. I had no intereaction with the housekeepers. But my room was cleaned everyday and they did their job well. I was here for a convention at the Phoenix Convention Center. The Convention Center is about a six minute walk to the hotel. This hotel does have a shuttle but do not shuttle to the Convention Center. But it seems that they do shuttle to City Field, ... Read more

My husband and I stayed there for three nights over the Thanksgiving holiday while visiting our son who lives in downtown Phoenix. The location is excellent and it is easy to walk to all of the downtown sites. The area is pretty safe and we walked back late in the evenings with no problems. The rooms are quiet. The staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful and the room itself was clean and well maintained. The primary downside of the hotel is the breakfast which is very basic and uninteresting...
