I wanted to love this hotel, it's got a strong sense of fun retro design. The appeal though ends there. The room was over $500 for 2 nights and was relatively small and right next to the elevator although I'd asked for a quiet room. Typically for how dysfunctional the place is, the balcony had a table but no chairs. Whatever you do, don't rely on the airport shuttle. They said it would take about 20 minutes, and it was about 50 minutes (you really feel the wait time in mid-90s heat, and when I c... Read more

Although this is not a luxury hotel, we enjoyed staying here for 4 nights for my daughters graduation. The room was comfy and the decor kitschy. Beds were comfy but the room was standard size... but fine for the 3 of us. The staff at the desk and the shuttle drivers were very attentive. The drivers took us to several places besides picking up and taking to airport. Both restaurants here are good, the workout room was great with newer equipment and everything you need for a workout, the pool is v... Read more

Great room, cute, just like a stylish retro dorm room. Bed was super comfortable and the room was great. We were there for my niece's graduation and the hotel is so very close to campus. Had a nice pool and outside patio area.

This is a small newly re modeled hotel right at the A.S.U campus. good place to stay while your student is moving in or you are visiting. low price with small but comfortable rooms small pool attached to nice bar with patio and bar food, also has nice café with patio, good breakfast. 15 min walk through the campus takes you to downtown Tempe. Rooms near the pool will live with the clanging of the pool gate as the pool is open until midnight. Not a student hangout.

Stayed here for a conference for 4 days and enjoyed every minute!!! Amazing service, they were super understanding, helpful, and very friendly! Free bottles of water, free shuttle, and cool diner right outside. Breakfast isn't included, you need to pay for the food at the diner but it's fairly priced with a nice variety of things. You can also spend more and pay less through the hotel which is super cool. (Pay $20, get $30 credit etc.) Room was nice, bed was super comfy with a nice view, great ... Read more

Great, recently remodeled, property right across the street from ASU. Love the cool feel of the entire hotel & both restaurants. Excellent service by the staff at the front desk & everyone I interacted with. Shuttle to airport was a plus. Definitely worth a stay in Tempe, and much better experience than a corporate / chain hotel.

hotel service and ambiance is good. however the hallways and rooms on the 7th floor are very hot. the staff is aware of the problem and has known that the need someone to fix the AC on the 7th floor but still will put guests in that floor. an employee I spoke to said that they are planning to close the 7th floor until this is fixed.

If you're looking for a surprisingly enjoyable place to stay in the Phoenix, AZ area, here it is. This "retro" hotel, recently remodeled with some very nice amenities, is a refreshing place to stay where the staff is friendly and quick to take care of any needs. The rooms are interestingly decorated and the showers are huge. There is a hotel bar and two restaurants attached to the building. It's right across the street from Arizona State University's "Gammage" auditorium; there's a bunch of ... Read more

I was so impressed with the details of the unique decor here. They didn't miss a thing! It's not your standard hotel/motel decor at all. There's a definite theme to it. The staff was friendly, courteous and professional. We weren't there long enough to experience the outlets, but will next time for sure. The proximity to ASU can't be beat. We took the light rail from the airport (Sky train to 44th St. stop) to Tempe and took a $5 Uber from the stop. We were able to walk to campus for what we... Read more

This hotel is super cute! I booked the room to celebrate my best friend's birthday in Tempe and it was exactly what I was looking for. The remodel was perfect! Its not your typical decorations so I was a bit reluctant when shopping for hotels online but it definitely was worth the risk! I would recommend The Graduate to anyone who wants to stay in Tempe.

Lots of detail went into the design of this hotel. The Graduate theme is reflected in every little detail: key cards that resemble student IDs, pencils and wee notebooks in every room. My room was very nice, and very quiet, even though the hotel was crowded. Comfortable bed, a sizable desk. The pool was lovely. Staff was very friendly. Cons: the wifi that was "included" in our rooms barely functioned. The hot water went out one morning and stayed out for at least a day. Pros: the bicycles! If yo... Read more

Mission statement - dropping off exchange student at ASU. Proximity is key and this is right on the door step of the Uni and where they were staying. Google hotel location and where you want to be as the Uni is large and it is best to be on the correct side. It was an easy walk and in 40degree Celsius that's important. The Graduate was great. Well equipped, clean and a bit groovy (hint 'The Gradute' with Dustan Hoffman). The staff were 95%helpful (one guy was in a slightly different space). ... Read more

Friendly staff and close proximity to ASU are about the only things going for this hotel. The rooms are okay size wise, but the in-wall a/c is loud and largely ineffective kicking on and off every few minutes and blowing its cold air directly onto the closest bed. You have to pay to park over night, and no breakfast is included. Our room did have a small balcony, but with the 100+ degree weather and no furniture, there was little incentive to use it. On the plus side, the room did have a coffee ... Read more

I stayed here several years ago when it was the Twin Palms. The renovations were a major upgrade. I am staying in the standard king, first floor. Little to no noise. Comfortable bed. The room is a bit small, but it is just me. However, I am a bit confused by the 'open' concept of the bathroom? A shower, but no curtain and no door. Again, it is just me, but it seems as though something is missing.... There has been clear attention given to the design of each room, but (and this is just me being ... Read more

Spotlessly clean (really) fluffy pillows 70s kitsch decor- very unusual and cute. The smoke alarm was chirping and needed batteries and was fixed immediately. I stayed at this hotel to visit ASU. This high-quality hotel staff allowed me to search an available room for me to check in when I arrived around 10:30 a.m. (Please note that this is not applied to anybody, I was lucky and the staff was really helpful). The atmosphere of the room is interesting and fascinating. The two restaurants this hotel has were great and I fully enjoyed meals thanks to the waiters. I couldn't find any problem during my stay here.

What to say? Nothing spectacular. I still haven't figured out the web picture and what the hotel actually looks like. The picture looks like a sleek, modern hotel; in real life not so much. Accommodations were satisfactory, but erratic maid service, no hot water first morning, and not having a curved shower rod were demerits. Beds were comfortable. We rounded out our vacation in Tempe, trying something new. Big mistake! From the moment we walked into the hotel lobby, it has been a disappointing experience. We arrived early and were told that a room on the back side of the hotel, where it is quiet, was not ready. They pointed us to the hotel bar for an over priced drink and the rooftop lounge. There is a wonderful diner onsite that serves a great breakfast. They serve lunch and dinner too but we only ate there for breakfast. Everyone has a smile for you.
