We also stayed for the Irish dance competition which was very convenient. I agree the older woman at the front desk was not very friendly when I stopped by to ask a question. Getting around the hotel is not easy as you have to travel what seems out of the way to get to your room. Our room though was very spacious and clean but very disappointed there was no fridge so we ended up having to throw out leftovers from restaurants. There certainly was plenty of room for one. Would have liked an ice... Read more

We had a perfect three night stay at Carefree Resort the end of December. Room was very clean and comfortable. Nice having the separate sink outside the bathroom. We used the hot tub and pool one night. Heated pool was fun in the winter. Christmas Tree was pretty in the lobby and loved the fireplace in the lobby. I could have sat by the fire all day. Friendly nice employees. With teen kids, it was nice to have some simple snacks for them to purchase in lobby. Complex was very pretty.

We were in carefree to help my brother pick his new home and stayed at the carefree resort. The rooms were very comfortable the resort seems a bit dated but the staff is very friendly and accommodating the restaurant is good all in all a great place to stay the weather was cold so we did not venture out into the pool or outside facilities but they look very nice

We stayed for an Irish dance competition over the weekend. Got in about 9pm Friday and restaurant was still open. We had a great meal, wish the waiter would have let me know there was a kids meal available. Front desk was helpful, except older woman who appeared to be a supervisor. Always acted like she was too busy to be inconvenienced to help a guest. I worked in hotel industry for years, 5+ at front desk, she did not promote customer service. Younger staff was friendly. Doormen/women always ... Read more

The setting is absolutely beautiful. In the gorgeous desert just north of Phoenix. We stayed for an event. We got a special room rate of $140 and apparently it normally costs $200+ per night. This is NOT a luxury hotel experience. First the door to our room was broken and kept popping open. Very old doors and clearly not replaced in the remodel. To their credit it did get fixed. Bathroom door wouldn't close either. They replaced the tile in the bathroom but left an old, dirty, plastic shower d... Read more

During my stay my door knob/key card reader had to be replaced. John and Marco were so courteous and helpful. These kinds of issues happen when you travel. Their service is what sets them apart. And when I lost a receipt that I needed to turn in on my expense list; the restaurant manager: Rhonda was able to take the check number on the slip I had and emailed me a scanned copy of the original. This place has a service oriented staff and it makes all the difference.

Arrived on Christmas Day, 2016. The lobby smelled of vanilla and a fire in the cozy fireplace. The room was exceptional, the staff very attentive and friendly. The room was clean and kept clean by the helpful housekeeping staff. The restaurant, The Lariat (keeping in the Southwestern theme) was perfect, the food really, really good. Just be sure you're not in a hurry. Our waitress had some great recommendations. We ate many meals right there. Walked the beautiful grounds and enjoyed a stroll thr... Read more

When we entered the room there was a very heavy mold and mildew smell. I actually look around as it smelled like maybe a pipe had broken and contaminated the drywall. Found nothing. As it turned out the refrigerator in the living room had been unplugged for, I don‚??t know how long. But it was the source. As we started to try and settle in the room there had been multiple light bulbs taken, at least three. I tried to turn on the TV and the remote did not work. Upon checking the batteries ... Read more

This was an unexpected trip....a friend who lives locally recommended the carefree resort. At first I was a little disappointed in the room, it was in the back and it was dusty, and a little old....but boy the employee's and the town made it for it. The cactus and the areas around the resort were so much fun....I do hope next time I can bring my family next time and do the amateur bull riding...
