I recently stayed at this hotel for three nights. It is a very clean and quiet hotel. The food was good but a little pricey ($22 for breakfast for an ordinary buffet breakfast and then add a tip). Customer parking is tight. If you get back at 8:00pm your walk to your room will be very long.s The touch of Mexico was that I showered five times and never had hot water. One shower was cold water for a splash and go shower.

This is a beautiful property that gave us a less than great stay. We were there for 5 days and had an issue with either our AC or hot water on all but one day. The staff tried to remedy the issues but only succeeded for the last night. The offer of a different room also didn't work out as it smelled musty and didn't appear to have been properly cleaned. Fortunately, HHonors provided a credit on some of the points we used for our stay. When they get the renovation done and all rooms are working ... Read more

We killed at least a dozen cockroaches in your room. It was disgusting! I have never seen cockroaches in a hotel room and certainly not in an expensive upscale hotel like this one. They offered to move us, but there were 6 of us staying in a suite and we had already settled in. It was infested with them and it really ruined our stay at the hotel. It was totally gross.

The valet service at El Conquistador cannot be matched. Service is friendly, prompt and courteous. The hotel was full for Memorial Day weekend, and the service was still wonderful. Due to the Memorial Day weekend, the pool and grounds were full of people. Our room was clean and cold for the hot temperature in Tucson, Arizona. Everytime we visit Tucson, we select the El Conquistador for quality service.

My wife and I recently traveled back to Tucson, where we used to live 20 years ago, and stayed at the El Conquistador resort at the north end of Tucson. We completely fell in love again with the location and its natural high desert beauty! At the resort there was plenty of wildlife: Gambol Quail, Ring Neck Doves, and even a family of Javelinas at sunset. The sunset views from the resort are mesmerizing and the sunsets make the red granite cliffs of Pusch Ridge glow at sunset! The staff was s... Read more

Golf resort was not on premises, we were not informed at the front desk that there is a dress until we drove out to the golf course. The bbq restaurant and picnic area is not open as suggested in resort pics. I was bitten by bugs in the bed. Room had strange smell. But the room service was great and so were the views. Other than that..we saw no tennis courts either. Very misleading

Great hotel! This was the third time staying at El Conquistador. We have family in Oro Valley and this is a central location close to restuarants and shopping. This visit we stayed in the casitas and really liked the quaintness and charm. They provide free shuttle service up to the main part of hotel via golf cart which was a plus with the high summer temperatures walking up there would have been too difficult on my elderly parents. We stayed a long weekend for a tennis tournament and had a very nice time. The rooms were big enough to set up a massage table without moving anything around. They were clean, quiet and very cold. (Refreshing! It was 114 degrees outside) The movie we rented was expensive! Especially since there is no ability to rewind, or go back AT ALL! Very frustrating, as we missed several minutes while answering the door for room-service, assuming we could rewind the movie. Won't do that again.... ... Read more

I got the summer package for my partner's birthday. Overall good quality of care for the price. Front end manager was less than friendly and was a wet blanket; it affected my partner and I checking in and took a little bit to shake off. The room itself was less than impressive, there were renovations outside our room, and seems like all the money for the renovation was put in the bathroom.

The Hilton hotel grounds, appearance and care are all very good... unfortunately the quality of the dinner hour food was terrible. We were pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the staff which cared for the rooms on a daily basis. The property is very well cared for, including the pool and weight room. The location of this Hilton is wonderful as the view of the, not too far off, mountains provide for a relaxing gaze.

Don't think by speaking with foreign reservationist that you will receive any type of special request. It was a one hour nightmare getting into our room. The General Manager FINALLY made the room happen. It was our anniversary and we had reservations in advance, but when we got there, there wasn't a ROOM ready for us? What's the point of a reservation only to find out that when you get there they find a room available. Hokey.

All in all we had a great time, the pools were fun, the poolside food and drink are good and the kids had a blast on the water slide. The only frustration was the location of the room(the casitas area of the resort but our room was standard queen....bummer!!!); the room was ridiculously far from the main pool area and with kids we couldn't use the Arcadia pool so it was a tiring hike or a wait for a ride everytime we needed to go back to the room. Great place to visit. Hilton style. I had a great time and the place is very nice. People are very friendly and are always helpful in all respects. Highly recommended and very hospitable. Great location and very scenic. Great for tennis of which we had a blast with USTA.

We stayed one night at this Hilton property. The staff was great - warm, friendly, and helpful in every way. The public spaces were very attractive and well kept, and we had wonderful meals in the restaurant. However, our room was very very tired in appearance. The rooms really need to have a makeover/renovation to make them more attractive and current. In our room, which was a one bedroom unit, the refrigerator was missing part of one leg and the furniture was badly outdated. In addition,... Read more

Due to our house flooding we stayed at El Conquistador for just under 2 months. It became our home away from home. The housekeeping and other staff were all courteous and helpful to all of our needs, making our stay at El Conquistador perfect place to be during our nearly 2 month long event.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The property was kept up very nicely. Really stunning views from the rooms, restaurants and patio off the lobby bar. The patio area off the hotel lobby bar has several seat areas each with a gas fire pit. They look out towards the mountains. I suggest having a glass of wine there late afternoon and watch sunset happen. We ate the breakfast buffet at the Sundance restaurant twice with exceptional service from Gino. More juice and coffee were offered before we ... Read more

Rachel and Austin at the front desk went out of their way to accommodate our group. We did not request rooms near each other until we arrived and the hotel was booked. They worked very hard and made it happen. The rooms were beautiful, terrific views and very clean. Food was tasty and service excellent. My best Hilton experience ever!

A beautiful property with attentive staff, we enjoyed our stay here. The resort is perched near the mountains and has fantastic views. The pool area was fantastic and had ample room for chill-out. We really enjoyed the cafe and restaurants on site. My family and I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Stayed for a weekend in early November. Pleased to see facility upgrades in progress. Food service was great, however a Southwestern themed restaurant should have a greater selection of Mexican beers and tequila. Wife's spa treatment was great, but she said the physical space needs improvement to reflect an authentic spa experience.

Excellent stay, hotel staff were very friendly and efficient. Rooms are larger than normal, with excellent views out the large patio windows. Enjoyed the in-room coffee service and Wifi and bathrobes. The best part is the beds, very comfortable, maybe the best we have ever seen in any hotel. Room service was very fast and the food hot and well prepared. Love that you can park close to your room which limits walking and moving luggage long distances. Just a great stay.

Excellent visit, rooms are large, clean and quiet. Parking is close to room, which we like, so less walking. Only a short visit this time, have been here before and enjoy the facilities and rooms very much. Room service was great, high quality food items, and service is fast and friendly.

We have been guests at this hotel on several previous occasions. We continue to be pleased with the service. Stayed in a casita with dining room, living room, and kitchenette. Really allowed us comfort of spreading out. Traveling with family so adjoining rooms allow us to share a common space for meals or conversation. Nature is right outside the window. Great view of mountains!

We live in Phoenix and stayed here for one night to have dinner with a cousin we haven't seen in many years who was at a tennis tournament on the property. We didn't get to take advantage of the $20 "resort fee," that includes such things as a gift shop discount, use of a bicycle for two hours, etc. But the place is well-maintained and the junior suite we had was spacious, with a very comfortable bed and a large living room area where we entertained. We stayed in a Casita and using the digital check-in we were able to select one of the larger rooms. This allowed enough space for the roll in bed (not one that folds) to be put in line with the other two queen beds and my daughters each had a bed. Great pool, very friendly staff and beautiful setting. The only surprise...using the tennis courts costs $20.

We stayed in a casita which was very large and great for a family. The room had a wood burning fireplace which was great for chilly nights. The pool was beautiful and the property has great mountain views.
