I recently stayed at this hotel for three nights. It is a very clean and quiet hotel. The food was good but a little pricey ($22 for breakfast for an ordinary buffet breakfast and then add a tip). Customer parking is tight. If you get back at 8:00pm your walk to your room will be very long.s The touch of Mexico was that I showered five times and never had hot water. One shower was cold water for a splash and go shower.

This is a beautiful property that gave us a less than great stay. We were there for 5 days and had an issue with either our AC or hot water on all but one day. The staff tried to remedy the issues but only succeeded for the last night. The offer of a different room also didn't work out as it smelled musty and didn't appear to have been properly cleaned. Fortunately, HHonors provided a credit on some of the points we used for our stay. When they get the renovation done and all rooms are working ... Read more

We killed at least a dozen cockroaches in your room. It was disgusting! I have never seen cockroaches in a hotel room and certainly not in an expensive upscale hotel like this one. They offered to move us, but there were 6 of us staying in a suite and we had already settled in. It was infested with them and it really ruined our stay at the hotel. It was totally gross.

For breakfast we had the buffet which was excellent. Lots of choices and very fresh. Our server Gino was awesome. He knew our drink order every morning and took the time to get to know us. The valet service at El Conquistador cannot be matched. Service is friendly, prompt and courteous. The hotel was full for Memorial Day weekend, and the service was still wonderful. Due to the Memorial Day weekend, the pool and grounds were full of people. Our room was clean and cold for the hot temperature in Tucson, Arizona. Everytime we visit Tucson, we select the El Conquistador for quality service.

My wife and I recently traveled back to Tucson, where we used to live 20 years ago, and stayed at the El Conquistador resort at the north end of Tucson. We completely fell in love again with the location and its natural high desert beauty! At the resort there was plenty of wildlife: Gambol Quail, Ring Neck Doves, and even a family of Javelinas at sunset. The sunset views from the resort are mesmerizing and the sunsets make the red granite cliffs of Pusch Ridge glow at sunset! The staff was s... Read more

Golf resort was not on premises, we were not informed at the front desk that there is a dress until we drove out to the golf course. The bbq restaurant and picnic area is not open as suggested in resort pics. I was bitten by bugs in the bed. Room had strange smell. But the room service was great and so were the views. Other than that..we saw no tennis courts either. Very misleading

A last minute weekend getaway from Phoenix & the El Conquistador didn't disappoint!! Despite part of the hotel going through renovations, everything was perfect! Our room & the landscape was clean & beautiful! The staff was amazing, everyone was very friendly! The hotel had everything to accommodate my entire family; my daughter enjoyed baking cookies with the bakers of the hotel & touring the kitchen-the cookies were quite delicious! Both of my daughters enjoyed the pool, my dog enjoyed the tra... Read more

Great hotel! This was the third time staying at El Conquistador. We have family in Oro Valley and this is a central location close to restuarants and shopping. This visit we stayed in the casitas and really liked the quaintness and charm. They provide free shuttle service up to the main part of hotel via golf cart which was a plus with the high summer temperatures walking up there would have been too difficult on my elderly parents. The staff is extremely friendly and always willing to help. Lov... Read more

The setting was beautiful at the base of some mountains, sunsets stunning, grounds wonderful. It is a resort and none of the rooms are connected/close to the main lobby, restaurants, front desk locations. Something I need when travelling for business. Property is under renovation so 2 of 4 main buildings are down right now. Casita buildings are far from the pool. Pool area is the best part of the property. Central to 4 main buildings close to the lobby with restaurant patios overlooking pool an... Read more

I planned this stay as a special birthday weekend and pick this resort primarily because of the kid-friendly pool features and the decent price. We upgraded to a casita since it was the four of us. Front desk thoughtfully had a bottle of champagne and strawberries waiting in the room as part of the birthday surprise. Pack and Play was set up as requested. Room was spacious and clean. The outside area around the room could have used some trash pick up. Cigarette butts on our patio, water bottle c... Read more

We stayed a long weekend for a tennis tournament and had a very nice time. The rooms were big enough to set up a massage table without moving anything around. They were clean, quiet and very cold. (Refreshing! It was 114 degrees outside) The movie we rented was expensive! Especially since there is no ability to rewind, or go back AT ALL! Very frustrating, as we missed several minutes while answering the door for room-service, assuming we could rewind the movie. Won't do that again.... ... Read more

I got the summer package for my partner's birthday. Overall good quality of care for the price. Front end manager was less than friendly and was a wet blanket; it affected my partner and I checking in and took a little bit to shake off. The room itself was less than impressive, there were renovations outside our room, and seems like all the money for the renovation was put in the bathroom.

The hotel has beautiful grounds and a nice pool. Fun activities during the day and guided stargazing at night. Food at restaurant is so-so. Had wonderful salads and grilled chicken at the bar. Staff was very friendly. Lots of kids at the main pool.

We stayed over an extended weekend to enjoy the last break before school and take in some of the Catalina mountains and the monsoon season. Boy were we in for a treat. The staff at El Conquistador treated us like royalty. From before we even got there, to the time we left. The location was beautiful, the rooms were really good. Even thought they are renovating some of the buildings, you could barely notice it. We asked for one of the older rooms (bldg. 4), only because of the mountain views, and... Read more

We booked at the Hilton Tucson El Conquistador as a ground base when looking for dark skies for star gazing in early April 2016. Located in the Oro Valley, it is in the outskirts of Tucson but still has good restaurants and shopping within driving distance. The hotel grounds are beautifully located behind the Catalina mountains with gorgeous desert walking trails, blossoming saguaro behind romantic sunsets and night time star gazing. Our room itself, in Building 1, located near the pool area, w... Read more

We last stayed at this beautiful resort for 3 weeks in August 2016. We repeat this trip every two years and always stay at one of the 2-bedroom casitas for 3-4 weeks each time. The resort is beautiful with excellent facilities, beautiful pool, nice gym, excellent restaurants, etc, but most importantly very friendly staff! Highly recommended!

Nice hotel and room suite. We had a great location for our room...bottom corner room facing the pool. Easy access to and from the pools more so because we have kids going back and forth. Wished there were more umbrellas at the pool though. All in all, nice. Love the mountainous backdrop.

Great pool, wonderful staff, good family fun. I especially loved the poolside s'mores, then dive-in movie, and the astronomy lesson from U of A. The scenery is just amazing, and the town is so relaxed. Our family has a new back-to-school tradition!

The resort has a great view of the mountains and a nice design. It is in the Oro valley so it is a bit far from the city center so it is meant for holiday. The breakfast is great, and most importantly the staff are very friendly and helpful.

The rooms are spacious. The layout and amenities are above a standard hotel and quite well maintained. Views are awesome. Close enough to downtown and rest of area to make the most of your trip. A gem in the Tucson area.
