But it's so darn expensive!! I guess near $300 is what you pay to be in a (very comfortable) bed that close to the Grand Canyon. But yeesh! It's still a Holiday Inn Express. If this were a normal-priced HIE, I'd give it 5 stars. Quiet, clean and comfortable rooms. Great hot tub. Perfect breakfast included. All around lovely place except for that price tag. Sigh.

As other reviews say, hotel is a bit pricey and includes the HIE standard breakfast, plus side is that it is a short drive to the canyon. Arrived at hotel around 8pm and noticed immediately that the parking lot was almost full, our room was one side of hotel and had to park on the opposite side of the building. On top of that when we got our room key, the door refused to open. Told the front desk and they did send someone to look at it, but by the time they arrived I managed to get open after... Read more

We chose this hotel for the price and proximity to the Grand Canyon. Our room was very clean and spacious. We really enjoyed having a fridge and keurig coffee pot. This was by far the best continental breakfast we have ever had. The cinnamon rolls were to die for! In a town where everything is over priced due to the close proximity to the Grand Canyon we really appreciated a great breakfast to get our day started. Also a heads up they do not offer laundry services. We were told the closest laund... Read more

It's definitely an ok hotel for which you'd pay much less if it wouldn't be so conveniently located right next to the Grand Canyon National Park. Our room was clean though and big enough to feel comfortable, the beds however were a bit too soft for our taste. Breakfast was as expected, no positive or negative surprises there. The staff was friendly and the hot tub a pleasant bonus after a long day on the road! Wifi is an absolute catastrophe, not their fault though, I guess that's due to the are... Read more

We stopped here on a visit to the Grand Canyon, it is a nice motel, clean with a pool, lemon water and a very good breakfast, with everything from warm cinnamon rolls to pancakes and bacon. The internet is slow, but the hotel notes that the whole community has slow bandwith, It is about 5 miles from the visitors center..

We stayed for 2 nights, and the weather did not help. The hotel was comfortable, nothing above average, and a bit "old fashioned". The breakfast room was always packed, and again we had the "paper-plastic" containers. As usual, impossible to get really hot water for the tea. Nothing memorable even if the beds were comfortable.

I hesitated to book this hotel because Tusayan properties are significantly more expensive than those in adjacent towns such as Williams or Flagstaff. However, when we visited the Grand Canyon last year, we booked a room in Flagstaff and really hated the looooong drive there after walking several miles around the park, so we bit the bullet this year. It is a simple hotel. Clean and quiet. Wifi was not very good but apparently that is throughout Tusayan. My main issue is with the cost. Felt a little strange paying Mandarin Oriental prices for a hotel without concierge, a spa or room service. It is all about location though.

Our key somehow deactivated itself three times. Needed to return to the lobby four different times to have a new key made. Front desk staff asked if we kept the key in our pocket because that can deactivate the key. Seriously? Breakfast was crowded very early in the morning. But it was good for a free breakfast. This was a great base for spending a couple days/nights visiting the grand canyon. Breakfast was really good--lots of protein choices, fruit, and starches. Room was clean. Didn't use the pool, but they have an indoor pool, so that's nice. Of all the places we stayed during a one month holiday tour of California and Death Valley and Grand Canyon, this place was (A) the most expensive and (B) the worst value for money. I‚??ve stayed in many Holiday Inns and they typically offer no frills good value rooms. However, this place was expensive; check in was like a military facility, room and bathroom were both fine, breakfast was the most miserable affair in USA. Restaurant was like a coach station caf√©. This Holiday Inn Express is similar to others we have stayed at. The price is high, but is in line with other hotels in the area. The location is very convenient for visiting Grand Canyon. Still, we would have stayed an extra night or two if it were less expensive. Only real drawbacks I can think of: wifi is poor and the parking lot really filled up at night. Rooms are very nice. We stayed at the Tusayan HI in June for a few days.Overall, the hotel really did the trick for us and provided a comfortable, convenient base of operations for a great Grand Canyon visit. We stayed in a small suite in the secondary rear building which is just down the side street from the main hotel. Only problem with that was finding it the first time as it is a nondescript building without signage. Other than that brief hiccup, it was great and I'd recommend it over the main building as being ... Read more

I felt that for the price it should have been nicer, the rooms were a little run down. The bathroom was tiny, so tiny in fact that the door actually grazed the toilet when closing. Have nothing bad to say about our 2 night stay. Room was clean & well kept & free parking. Staff was great & the free breakfast has everything you could possibly want. Pool/spa was nice & with the prices for food at the Gr Canyon being a little high, a free breakfast is quite the perk. Rooms have frig, coffee maker, & microwave. Staff was helpful w/booking tours. It does get cold in this area just before Thanksgiving so plan accordingly.

The location was great, went to the park everyday. The area has issues with wi-fi service and was explained to us on arrival. This isn't due to any shortcomings of the hotel but issue with the area service provider. Paid for a 7 day pass and used it as a shortcut to Glen Canyon. The restaurants on the strip were very expensive, an ice cream cone from McDonald's was almost $3, really?

Decent hotel. Amazing to me that there are not any Hiltons or Sheratons or Hamptons or Marriotts in the area. But this Holiday Inn was not too bad. The rooms were a bit aged, but fair. Nicer than your average Holiday Inn. Staff was very friendly. 10 minutes from South entrance to Grand Canyon. Great location. Clean. Solid. The best part was the great breakfast and the amazing service by Ilena (I think it was her name) in particular. She really took care of us. Yes, as others say, bre... Read more

Check in was nice and easy. Rooms were nice and comfy. We had no problems during our short stay. It was crowded, and breakfast didn't seem quite as good as we usually have at Holiday Inn Express, but those were very minor and didn't affect us negatively.

Great location, super friendly and professional staff. Up to date clean and spacious rooms, more healthy options for breakfast than I've seen at any other hotel. I highly recommend the adults only building if you are traveling without children, it has a designated breakfast room, spa and gym that are less crowded and very quiet. Customer service reminded me of a stay in a 5 star hotel.

We stayed at this HIE for two nights when visiting Grand Canyon. It is about 2 miles away from the entrance to the park, you cannot get any closer to it unless you are willing to pay a fortune for substandard accommodation at the South Rim. Personnel at check-out is very friendly and cooperative, rooms are typical HI rooms, with fridge and microwave. Breakfast is included but it is a complete zoo. Breakfast room is too small for the hotel, so it gets extremely crowded after 7:30 or so. There ... Read more

Nice hotel with great location to Grand Canyon National Park. Great staff, especially Branden was doing a great job for all the check-in guests at the weekend after Thanksgiving.Clean rooms, good housekeeping crew. Kids had a blast in the pool, but afterwards red skin (too much chlorine!). Usual Holiday Inn Breakfast, but I would prefer real silverware and plates instead of plastic!

There are only a few places in Tusayan but this place is highly over priced, No value for money except the location. The breakfast buffet was just awful and not much of a choice ( comparing to best western) , most of the food just ran out and it was not refilled. The rooms had not been renovated in a while and although comfortable was not vaccumed at all. There was lot of muck on the carpet during the 3 nights we were there which remained. The staff were not very friendly with the exception of th... Read more
