Very nice stay, the front desk staff were very helpful, especially Pascale, took the time to show me all the directions I needed. The facility was clean and the breakfast was great. Lowes, walmart, and food available close bye. And shuttle available.

We can't say enough good things about our recent Holiday Inn Express Fairbanks stay! The hotel was inviting, its lobby a little better than expected, the breakfast warm and ample (a big hit with our teenage grandson), and service was beyond compare. I need to call out Marlon, who couldn't do enough to make our visit enjoyable. He epitomized customer service - and he's the reason that I'm writing this review. (The only improvement I'd suggest is an upgrade of the breakfast room's plastic knives ... Read more

Yes, this hotel is a great place to stay but Trip Advisor lacks good options to describe the advantages of a region, like Alaska. My 2 cents follows: GO IN MAY. Precip increases statistically from April thru Sept. May is ideal. Most things are open, the snow is off the roads, many things are cheaper, etc. We had an overbearing, too-organized "tour" a few years back that was miserable due to constant rain for 7 of 12 days plus total lack of flexibility. You literally could not stop to take picture... Read more

I travel monthly to Fairbanks on business and have always stayed here. Everyone, from front desk to housekeeping, and breakfast attendants alike are very pleasant and professional. The rooms are spacious and clean. They take my comments or concerns (while few and rather trivial) as opportunities to act on them to make sure I have a remarkably comfortable stay. I actually feel like a VIP but realize that they actually strive to treat everyone just as well. Mind you, people that feel as I do have ... Read more

Super frustrating to reserve this room with 15,000 points and then have a charge for $173 show up days later for the room. People who don't study their credit card statements may never even find this type of duplication. Shady. Come on, people! I called for the GM's email address and was just told to call back later. The worst part? They were OUT of their famous morning cinnamon rolls. ??? How could you EVER run out of these when they are such a centerpiece to your marketing?? I was nonchalan... Read more

The hotel itself was a nice hotel in a convenient location, but it was the staff that made our stay worth the 5-star rating. We had dealings with front desk and shuttle drivers on all 3 shifts and they were all wonderful and accommodating in their own way. The overnight front desk person when we arrived in the very early am on 5/25 went out of her way to make sure our needs were taken care of. And our shuttle driver/maintenance man (yes, same guy) that day was spot on with his recommendations... Read more

I've been staying at this hotel for years, and it recently improved by adding a free airport shuttle. There's always been a free breakfast, free wifi, plenty of free parking, a small workout room, and a pool. Over a five year period with many visits, I've never had a bad experience there.

This Holiday Inn is situated near almost everything. The highway to most tourist destinations (Arctic Circle, Alyeska Pipeline photo area, etc.) is very accessible. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance as well as stores (Barnes & Noble, GAP, Ulta, etc.). They have very friendly staff and a well-maintained hotel. The first floor rooms have thicker walls and high ceilings (which I loved). This place is great especially for those who are not the biggest fans of boutique/vinta... Read more

Booked this with IHG points before starting cruise. Location wonderful. Shuttle and driver on time/friendly. Elevator up to par. Breakfast satisfactory. Local recommendations were on-track. Did transmit quite a bit of noise, but there were 2 little league teams staying there. :(

Although we stayed here for 6 nights in June, I never managed to get a fresh-baked afternoon cookie! Oh well! This hotel is exactly what you would expect of a HIE. Pretty clean, standard rooms. We were on the top floor and it was pretty quiet, even though there were a couple of softball teams staying in the hotel for a tournament. They were well-behaved, we thought. They served coffee and had hot water for tea service in the lobby on a constant basis, so we didn't use the Keurig in the roo... Read more

Arrived after riding our bikes for 4 days to and back from Prudoe Bay Alaska. Staff were very accommodating, Anthony at the front desk handed me a stack of towels and blankets in addition to the ones we already have in our room! The maintenance guy gave us a hose and a bunch of rags to clean our nasty bikes down! Right near all the places you need to re-tool or re-supply! THANK YOU!!!!

Unsure about the low ratings. HIE in a great location near a shopping center. Room was clean. Breakfast was good biscuit & gravy, sausage, cold and hot cereal, coffee, and juices. Pool room was clean and handicap equipment available. Towels are available in the pool area. Check in was a breeze, free cookies in the lobby. Microwave and small fridge provided in the room. Overall.... Clean. Spacious. Convenient.

This is a decent hotel with a nice big pool, but they totally botched our reservation. We had a free night, followed by two nights we paid for, which I explained when we checked in. To get the free night, IHG insisted that it be 2 separate reservations. After the first night, they did not give us room service and called us to ask why our stuff was still in the room. A few days later, I discovered that they charged us for the free night! They have told me they are reversing the charges, we'l... Read more

As is the case with most Holiday In. Express hotels, this is a well maintained and clean facility with cozy lobby & breakfast lounge. The staff was friendly, and especially Kyle the maintenance man went out of his way to get a hose hooked up for me to wash the grime off my motorcycle from riding through several road construction zones today.

We stayed at this hotel in Fairbanks for seven days and nights and found it to be a perfect location and a great value for all our activities. It is also within walking distance to several stores and restaurants. The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly, we had a great time.

Hotel is adjacent to the mall so opportunities for eating and shopping. Excellent breakfast and clean room with frig and microwave. When we were ready to leave for the airport we found out the hotel shuttle driver was on vacation. No problem--they sent us to the airport in a pre-paid taxi. Outstanding service!

The staff member working the breakfast foods was excellent. She kept the food service clean and well stocked. We had a large queen size room. The room as well as the hotel is very clean. Ruby at the front desk gave us excellent advice on the attractions of Fairbanks Ak. We spent 4 nights at this hotel. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed one night while on vacay in AK. It was a nice place with everything near. We visited the North Pole the next day. Room clean and breakfast normal fare. Prices were high, compared to lower 48 for what u get. Not sure we will ever go back to Fairbanks, but we would stay here again.

We were there for 3 days/nights in a row, then came back for 2 additional days/nights. The staff really busted out and were working very professional and very very hard. BUT, Management needs to figure out that there MUST be TWO desk staff covering the desk no matter what. Yes, people get sick, BUT Management must cover the desk with a staff of 2 specifically when the Hotel is full. We were then met by Kyle (Maintenance?) who made us feel right at home with his sense of humor (he needs a raise). From this point on it was downhill.....The hotel was out of regular coffee K-cups, we only had Decaf for our room for the entire 7 days we stayed, we were told as soon as the regular K-cups came in we would receive them. The pool was never open and the side exterior door was unavailable from the outside to go in. There is a laundry with two washers and two dryers. One of the dryers didn't work well. Rooms are old and worn, not in keeping with the price of staying there. Staff were charmingly casual, with an emphasis on the "casual". Breakfast was really disappointing. Scrambled eggs were usually cold. (We soon learned to take some up to our room and use the microwave. Much tastier!) "Juices" were very sugary fruit drinks. I like choosing Holiday Inn Express because I know what to expect, no matter the location. This location is no exception. The rooms are nice. The only thing that stood out is that the walls seem thinner. I can hear everything in the halls and rooms. Also, the walking back and forth in the halls and room above me. Very annoying.
